Default Blastoise - Harsh Waters

Okay, so after searching for the right techs, different options opened up to me. I've decided to leave the 1-0-1 Metagross SV at home, and use 2 other techs that were both already mentioned. So without further adue, here is the final list for my Blastoise Deck.

Pokemon 22
4-3-4 Blastoise (PL)
2-2 Delcatty (PL)
2-2 Claydol (GE)
2 Uxie (AL)
1 Dialga (PL)

Supporters 11
4 Bebe's Search
4 Roseanne's Reasearch
3 Felicity's Drawing

Trainers 7
4 Rare Candy
1 Luxury Ball
1 Warp Point
1 Night Maintenance

Stadium 4
3 Broken Time-Space
1 Dawn Stadium

Energy 16
16 Water Energy

Dialga is a basic and can add 3 water energies back to the top of my deck for a full Dig Well. A nice little tech to have around in case that Delcatty doesn't show up early on. Dawn Stadium was mentioned for it's ability to heal damage and specail conditions when energy is attached to a water or grass pokemon. It should keep my Blastoise around a turn or two longer, and stop nasty effects like Unown G would. I did drop a Felicity's and a Warp Point. Felicity is for fast energy in the discard pile, but once I used one or two, I didn't need the others. So 3 copies should still give me a decent chance of drawing one of them early on.

All comments welcomed. This is what I will be playing at my local league, so please be harsh with me, I promise I can take it. Thanks

I left an idea for Lumineon SF on your other thread, look into it. Maybe out an energy another warp point and put in a Palmer's instead of Night Maintenance? Personal preference, it's a cheap trainer vs better supporter deal, so go with what works for you.

Lumineon SF seems pretty nifty, but it requires him to be the active pokemon. The only time that Blastoise is not leading an attacked, is when something just went horribly wrong for me..

Palmer's is a great card, but I dont want to waste a supporter turn when I am always searching for another basic, or stage 1/stage 2 pokemon. My deck is more or less just all about the set-up speed. I have what I need by turn 2, or at least that's the goal. When it works, I can pretty much control the game. Or at least that has been my experience playing with this deck.

No 3-1 Palkia G Lv. X line? It works great with Blastoise PT...

Palkia G Lv X is too much of a energy hog in my personal opinion. I would never use his poke'power, and that would be a waste when playing against Gengar, since Gengar decks eat Blastoise alive.

4 Energy and discarding 2 for an attack that does 80 is just too costly to me, IMHO. Blastoise's Double Launcher cost the same, but spreads for 60 against 2 pokemon on the bench.

After alot of play-testing, this seems to be the best line-up with the proper techs, and number of cards in the line-up.

I will give him a shot though. See how well he works with the synergy of Blastoise and Delcatty.

@ Mad- I did try the Lumineon SF. He does work well in the deck. The free snipe sets well with Blastoise's Double Launcher against techs like Messpirit, Azelf, Uxie, Claydol, etc.. but only problem was it slowed the deck down a little bit. Lumineon got stuck in the active spot on a few games and ended up getting wasted fast. A very enjoyable experience though, so if you have more suggestions, please feel free to toss them in

The reason Palkia is good with Blastoise isn't because of the Attack. It's because of the Power. You don't even have to *use* the Power. You just have to have it in play. The opponent will willingly keep their bench small, giving you fewer targets and a greater ability to one-shot little Basics. Dusknoir would work too, but it's giving the opponent a bigger bench at the same time.

Hmmm. Never thought of it like that. I guess that would slim down the bench so that Double Launcher would be more effective when used. My only problem would be where to fit it in. If I did use it, it would probably be a 2-1 lineup.

Anyone have suggestions?

Then run Unown G to help get around Gengar, it's not that hard. Not every deck runs Unown G but sometimes it helps especially against Crobat G due to Flash Bite. If you know they're gonna snipe one of your main attackers just use Guard to protect it.
