Default Mono-Fighting Golem (Post-Platinum: Arceus)

Well here's my attempt to build a Mono-Fighting Golem deck, it's a challenge but I think I might be able to pull it off. Here's what I aim for the deck to look like so far:

Pokemon (23)

3-2-3 Golem PA
2-2 Delcatty PT
2-2 Claydol GE
1-1 Sandslash SV
1-1 Bronzong SF
2 Uxie LA
1 Azelf LA

Trainers/Supporters (19)

4 Rare Candy
4 Bebe's Search
4 Roseanne's Research
3 Night Maintenance
3 Switch/Warp Point
1 Luxury Ball

Stadiums (3)

3 Broken Time-Space

Energies (15)

15 Fighting

Deck Total: 60

Any help, advice, or suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. I haven't gotten around to building this deck yet since I haven't gotten my booster box of the new set yet even though I got a few good cards from the Pre-Release with no Arceus sleeves, sad I know...

I thought a 2-2 Delcatty line would increase my chances of stacking Power Circulation to get more energies on top of my deck and Dig Down right into them with Sandslash cause I'm gonna be discarding alot of energies with Tumble Down.

Switch or Warp Point is supposed to help me get around Golem's fat retreat cost being 4, might stick with Warp Point for board disruption though.

Golem Lv. 56
140 HP
Fighting Type

(F)(C) - Lunge Out 50

(F)(C)(C) - Tumble Down 30x

Discard as many Fighting Energy cards as you like from your hand. This
attack does 30 damage times the number of Fighting Energy cards you
discarded.

(F)(F)(C)(C) - Rock Tumble 80

This attack's damage isn't affected by Resistance.

Weakness - Grass +30
Resistance - Lightning -20
Retreat Cost - 4

Rare

------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems like this deck was a one trick pony afterall, yeah this deck lacks a good supporting attacker to help backup Golem and Golem is the ONLY main attacker in the deck. There's too many Supporting tech's that it could get to the point where the deck ends up falling apart.

Rhyperior comes to mind in terms of a secondary attacker but even then it doesn't come close to helping with the deck's strategy. Flygon RR would be the best supporting attacker due to helping give Golem free retreat for Rainbow Float. But why do that when I'm already running Flygon as it's own deck?

I guess I got caught up too much in the hype that I forgot how bad Golem is in the current meta even in Post-Arceus. It's just too slow compared to Gengar, Flygon, heck even Kingdra which some people are saying is making a comeback.

I might have to stick with building a Charizard deck, but now I kinda feel like I'm running outta deck ideas based on the new set and one of my friend's won't let me build a Charizard deck for myself cause he wants one.

It'll be playable when we get the HGSS set in English, when Fisherman gets reprinted. Maybe a Sableye SF tech for Impersonate can help copy Fisherman repeatedly to potentially kick off doing more damage with Golem's Tumble Down more than 1 turn.

Gyarados runs Sableye, why not Golem?

If Tumble Down was lower energy cost, then the deck would be alot faster.

The set-up is fine, the synergy is fine, the speed is fine. Only problem is the high attack cost for an attack that takes 3 energy and does 30x the number of fighting energies you discard.

I would say a 2-2 Line of Sandslash would keep Golem moving strong with Tumble Down, as well as a tech of 2 Dialga. Discarding 3 energies and being able to place them back on top of your deck before using Dig Down will keep his attack at a base 90 twice in a row.

Super Scoop Up would help re-use Dialga's Reverse Time.

I too like Golem. In fact he's probably one of the only rock pokemon I do like.
