Ux Spreading Seas/Convincing Mirage Land Control
Oh dear god. I just played the most annoying deck on the planet.
Here's the approximate list.
Lands
4x Scalding Tarn
4x Glacial Fortress
2x Crumbling Necropolis
5x Island
5x Plains
4x Mountain
Creatures
3x Baneslayer Angel
- Sphinx of Jwar Isle might be better. If the opponent has one open plains, that could be it for Baneslayer. Sphinx is pretty much unkillable if they don't have Judgment.
Planeswalkers
4x Ajani Vengeant
- Don't know about 4, perhaps... something else annoying and put him down to 3?
2x Elspeth, the Knight Errant
Enchantments
4x Spreading Seas
4x Convincing Mirage
Spells
4x Demolish
4x Ponder
4x Path to Exile
4x Day of Judgement
Artifacts
3x Scepter of Dominance
Scepter and Ajani keep lands that ARENT islands/not what you need in check, and demolish the others. ARG. ARG. ARG.
.... oh dear god. I was playing with 4 forests, 3 islands, and 1 mountain. Then he gets ajani out and bam, 4 forests and 3 islands. That was the most frustrating deck I played against. Even with 4 hemos, 4 duress, 4 blightning, he still got enough out to stop any wincons from resolving. Even sphinx fell to DoJ. Wow. Thoughts? Rage? Comments?
To keep this in perspective, I was playing Cruel Control. With 4 forrests. ARG.
Summary: You have about 3 turns to get a foothold in, or pack a TON of counter magic (you'll probably run out if you pack it just to beat this rogue deck) before your lands become useless. Have fun!
I did not come up with this deck. Obviously. I found it to be the most frustrating and hilarious deck I've seen in legal play so far.
