Question new to this Forum - need some help building forces

Hi erveybody,

I'm new in this forum and this is my first thread. Please also excuse possible language matters - I'm German so I'm not an English native speaker. Hope you don't mind.

Well, I am very fond of the Monsterpocalypse Minis. I bought quite some starters and boosters just because of collecting them.
I'm slowly working myself through the rules and I will have my first match against my brother early August when he comes to visit me.
Well so far my favourites are the Lords of Cthul, the Martians, GUARD and also the Terrasaurs. I collected all Monsters for these factions from Series 1 and some units.
Could you please give me some advice for our first game, which factions are (relatively) easy to play and which map (I also bought the strategy guide and the map pack for series 1 RISE) would be a good starter map? and: how many units do we need for each faction. I only have about 9-11 units for each of the above listed factions. will that be enough. And concerning buildings: how many would be ok for our first games?
Hope I will find some help here.
Cheers,
Chris

About 6 units that are the same faction as your monster plus any others units you might have to make it to the total of 15 should be enough. If you and your brother each bring about 5 buildings each, making a total of 10 on the map, which is enough to have fun and include some strategy. As for maps the one that comes with the Starter is pretty easy to play on.

The factions that are easy to play depend on the person but the Units for Terrasaurs can be said to each are good at one thing. Spikodon = Kills Unit clusters, Brontox = Holds Objectives/Makes more Units, Raptix = kills flying units, Carnidon = Brawl. This makes it easier to build a force around how you want to play.

This is not to say that you have to buy more products to have fun, but the new sets have filled in some holes and given new abilities to each faction making them all easier to play. This especially true for the Martian Menace.

Lords of Cthul in Set 1 Rise were really well rounded so they could also be considered easier to play.

Hope this helps and that you guys have fun.
