I can't trashtalk Urza, no one doubts his power. By now, I don't thik anyone doubt's Daigotsu's either. Both of them can "walk the planes" and do amazing interdimensional magic. When it comes down to it though, with that much equality in power, it will be cunning that wins. Frankly, a guy that creates an entire clan for the express purpose of gaining trust for long enough to slaughter a bunch of leaders has the up. Not to mention all the people whe has outwitted or woo'd ecspecailly when they shouldn't trust him. He always has a backup plan to his backup plan, and that's why he'd win.

Daigotsu is not only like a ninja, he leads a clan of monster ninjas.
THAT is why he will win.
He is a mage/ninja against a mage/mage.

There will be a giant magical duel, lasting for days. Then Urza will have an idea and planeswalk Daigotsu to the center of the sun. "Survive that," he would say. Urza wins.

Then due to some demonic bargain made with the competition's judges, Daigotsu is declared the winner, despite the fact that he is mere atoms at this point.

You can't really come back from being atomitized.

Actually, in Rokugan, you can. You die, your soul goes to another realm. Then, at some point, if you are good enough, powerful enough, or have powerful enough friends, that soul can be reincarnated back on earth, and you are here again, looking much the same, though you basically have a new body. So, atomized or not, Daigotsu could come back, just ask the Shadow Dragon.

Well, that makes this into just a fight that will continue for eternity for two essentially immortal beings, making this whole contest a moot point. Because of this, Daigotsu must be able to die because Urza can just make Daigotsu's soul betray him or simply seize or sever it at will.

Daigotsu's soul already belongs to beings that are much more powerful than Daigotsu or Urza. Kind of one of the reasons he keeps coming back. Think of something else ;-)

I don't believe Urza has anything to prevent him from being killed. Pretty sure he is just a squishy human. Though immortal, and tricky as **** to pin down.
