Green Lantern vs. Green Lantern Corps: Recharge
I just wanted to know people's opinions on these two comic series. Green Lantern featuring Hal Jordan and Green Lantern Corps Recharge featuring, well, the Green Lantern Corps.
I've picked up and read both series thus far and for me, the clear winner is Recharge. It just seems like the writers of GL just keep throwing old random villains at Hal Jordan just for the sake of it. I actually tired of it after the last issue, especially with the horrible art in #6. Recharge on the other hand, I just can't put down. It seems like a much more engaging story line and with the entire corps at their disposal, the writers can go off in pretty much any creative direction.
Anyways let me know your opinion on these.

I like kilawog and seeing the interplay between lanterns. Hal is ok, but the corps as a hole is far more interesting.

Sorry, but this seems like comparing apples and oranges. Recharge is a team book, so of course there's more characters to choose from, while Green Lantern is a solo book. Both have their strengths and weaknesses and certain levels of predictability(A Rannian and a Thanagarian are both chosen, and, of course partnered up, much like every single buddy cop movie. Every villain that Hal runs into pretty much pledges to return Hal to the grave). This is like asking whether Captain America is a better book than New Avengers. On a side note, Geoff Johns is involved in writing both books. However, I really didn't like the art on issue 6 of GL, either. Ethan Van Sciver's art on 1-5 was awesome, however, and it sucks that he's not sticking with GL. Oh well, as long as Simone Bianchi(Artist on issue 6) and Frank Quietly stay very far away from the book, I'll be happy with the art.

I greatly prefer Recharge. Simply put: The Green Lantern series has become what it was when Hal first appeared. He's fighting the bad guys, he's trying to win over the *SAME* girl, he's *yawn* starting to grow accustomed to *yawn* balancing life with his secret....zzzzz.zzzzzz....
ReCharge is more of the Green Lanterns going to accomplish missions, team-work, and being brothers-in-arms.
**I have NO intention of starting a Hal v Kyle debate**, but I did think Hal was really coming into his own as Spectre. He worked as a very effective symbol of what a Green Lantern should be, and a mentor to Kyle. And Kyle did come off quite well as someone who realized that despite all the power he has, he is still just a human. Hal's exploits are just too vanilla at the moment.

Gotta dig Recharge. It feels like Infinite Crisis ties in somehow too.

Personally dj, I don't like fruit. However, I do like comics in general, and these two books in prarticular. I look forward equally to each one every month. As for Hal as Spectre, he was trying to make the Spirit of Vengeance the Spirit of Redemption, something that the Spectre wasn't happy with. And to be honest, he's not going after Carol Ferris(yet, admitedly). In fact, he seems to be trying to make up for lost time with what remains of his family rather than go skirt chasing. It's a character-driven book wher the character's life comes before kicking villain tail. With Recharge, you have a continuation of the story of Kyle, Kilowog, Guy, and the rest of the Corps. And it is awesome. But it also has a larger focal point than GL does. It also has Guy Gardner, who I would love to see go back into a coma. It looks to me like the closest thing to a tie-in that Rann-Thanagar is gonna get outside of Hawkman. Of course, had I been asked this a year ago, I would've said a GL book with Hal should be shot out of a cannon. But I gave it a chance, and I liked it. However, I'd love to see Green Arrow get a good beating and then some in the current story(Doubt that'll happen). Can't please everyone, I guess.

Why do you think that? Everyone's entitled to their opinion but I was just wondering why you feel that way.
