solar flare vs esper mid range
Just trying to get some feed back on playing solar flare or esper mid range..
ive been testing a solar flare list for this meta.. here is the early cmc cards
3 Ratchet Bomb
4 image
2 Dead Weight
3 o ring
4 Lingering Souls
4 alchemy
i test play against my buddys naya pod, and turn 2 ratchet kills the turn 2 splicer effect, and or i image it, or Dead Weight pilgrim, do u think this is good for this meta, i guess even delver... 3 ratchet main? or should i just play mid range, i want to bring solar flare to an event in pickering ontario, just need a heads up if i should just play esper mid range. gime some tips please thanks

@Venser88,
I believe it would be incredibly helpful if you were to post your decklists instead. Not only can we suggest which archetype is probably better to play with, we can also perhaps help offer some suggestions to better improve those lists if they require any tuning.

@Venser88,
I do think that you would really appreciate having a couple of Blade Splicers in the main. They do have better synergy with Phantasmal Image and Sun Titan in your build, not mentioning that they can do much more against other aggressive strategies than Lingering Souls can.
And also, a couple of Doom Blade and Go for the Throat seems necessary for the build, being cheap instant speed removal spells that could come in handy against aggressive decks. Not saying Ratchet Bomb and Dead Weight can't deal with early threats, but they aren't as versatile as both Doom Blade and Go for the Throat.
I would probably cut a Gideon Jura, a Batterskull, 2 Ratchet Bomb, a Dead Weight and 2 Lingering Souls for the above-mentioned cards.
While these changes may cause your list to resemble Esper Midrange to a certain extent, it still does retain some of Solar Flare's control elements. The Blade Splicer are mainly included here to fight Attrition wars rather than to play a more proactive game like Esper Midrange, though you can still play a proactive game plan if necessary.
Hopefully you have figured the right configurations for your manabase.
