    Post Esper Exalted Deck Help

I'm focusing this deck around the exalted mechanic and Geist of Saint Traft. As well as Invisible Stalker and Tormented Soul swinging through for major damage. I could use some help with the list though since it does not seem to be working the way i had hoped it would. Its a 62 card listing. It may most likely be the mana that is the problem.

    Black Creatures
    2 Nefarox, Overlord of Grixis
    4 Knight of Infamy
    4 Servant of Nefarox
    4 Tormented Soul
    4 Duty-Bound Dead

    White Creatures
    4 Geist of Saint Traft
    4 Knight of Glory
    4 Aven Squire
    4 Guardians of Akrasa

    Blue Creatures
    2 Invisible Stalker

    Spells
    2 Ponder

    Land
    3 Cavern of Souls
    3 Cathedral of War
    3 Isolated Chapel
    4 Glacial Fortress
    2 Evolving Wilds
    1 Vault of the Archangel
    3 Swamp
    3 Plains
    2 Island

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Geist of Saint Traft break the exalted mechanic? When he attacks, two creatures attack that turn thus eliminating exalted.

Why not Remove 4 Geist of Saint Traft and include 4 Sublime Archangel? Archangel is an amazing Exalted card.

Also, not sure about Nefarox. He's a powerful card no doubt but his casting cost is steep and usually by the time you get him out, you've already sealed the deal or come very close to it. Maybe you should consider removing Nefarox for something like Faith's Shield, to protect your lone attackers from those pesky Vapor Snag or Unsummon.

Geist of Saint Traft does not break exalted. Only one creature attacks, that'd be Geist of Saint Traft. The angel that get's put into play is attacking, but never attacked (there is a subtle difference there).

Even for some reason the way the rules worked, the angel did attack, it still could work due to the stack. You can put the Geist's ability on the stack first, and then put the exalted abilities on top of it. The Geist will get the get the exalted, and then the Geist's ability will be put on the stack putting an angel into play that's attacking due to you being able to control how the abilities go on the stack since you own both and they both trigger off the same instance. But that'd not how it works anyway, the first part is how it works.

Fallen is correct. It works the same way with other cards that put attacking creatures into play, like Hero of Bladehold. You add the exalted mechanic to the stack first then trigger Geist of Saint Traft last to put the angel into play. The angel doesn't receive any buffs from exalted but its now following a pumped up geist that wont have to worry about getting chump blocked. I Checked with the judge at my local FNM before i started working on this build.

I'm working on acquiring some Sublime Archangel but at the moment i lack the funds. I would have liked to run a full set of Sublime instead of nefarox. Drop both nefarox, a stalker, and a Tsoul for all 4 Sublime.

I'll try switching out nefarox for Faith's Shield or something along those lines. Maybe add Mana Leak while it is in play.

How does the mana base look? i'd like to have Seachrome Coast and darkslick shore in instead of Glacial Fortress and Evolving Wilds. Since they are going out of play in 2 month's i don't want to spend the 40 dollars for a play set of each. It's not worth trading for them right now either, with what people at my FNM want for them

This is something I've been testing, it’s not completely exalted nor esper but it runs some of the same cards you have. I am considering switching out Quirion Dryad for Knight of Glory or Aven Squire. I'm not sure what the final build will be yet, I have yet to test it at FNM.

    Creatures: 21
    (4) Sublime Archangel
    (3) Geist of Saint Traft
    (4) Invisible Stalker
    (3) Snapcaster Mage
    (3) Quirion Dryad
    (4) Birds of Paradise
    Sorceries: 4
    (4) Ponder
    Instants: 8
    (4) Vapor Snag
    (4) Gitaxian Probe
    Enchantments: 3
    (3) Rancor
    Artifacts: 2
    (2) Runechanter’s Pike
    Lands: 22
    (4) Hinterland Harbour
    (4) Glacial Fortress
    (2) Moorland Haunt
    (1) Evolving Wilds
    (4) Island
    (4) Forest
    (3) Plains

For black white which is closer to your colours then my last list.

    Creatures: 21
    [4] Duty-Bound Dead
    [4] Knight of Glory
    [4] Vampire Nighthawk
    [2] Silverblade Paladin
    [4] Sublime Archangel
    [3] Disciple of Bolas
    Instants: 6
    [4] Tragic Slip
    [2] Faith’s Shield
    Sorceries: 5
    [3] Lingering Souls
    [2] Essence Harvest
    Enchantments: 3
    [3] Oblivion Ring
    Planeswalkers: 2
[2] Ajani, Caller of the Pride
    Lands: 23
    [4] Isolated Chapel
    [3] Cathedral of War
    [2] Evolving Wilds
    [7] Plains
    [7] Swamps

This deck I have tested and it did fairly well, I didn't have a sideboard prepared so it could have gone much better... It's fairly dangerous and Disciple of Bolas and Essence Drain just take advantage of Exalted.

I'm thinking of a UW build like this. Thoughts?

    4 Sublime Archangel
    4 Invisible Stalker
    4 Aven Squire
    4 Knight of Glory
    3 Silverblade Paladin
    2 Geist of Saint Traft

    4 Ponder
    4 Vapor Snag
    3 Oblivion Ring

2 Ajani, Caller of the Pride

2 Sword of War and Peace

    4 Glacial Fortress
    2 Evolving Wilds
    3 Cathedral of War
    8 Plains
    7 Island

Obviously, this is without the limited budget I have. I'd probably need to find something to replace the Sword and the Geist. The angel and Ajani are the two money cards that are obviously irreplaceable however.
