needs to cost more since it is mostly a better Damnation that you can abuse yourself with auras or +1/+1 counters.

True but on the other hand it doesn't kill your opponent's creatures that have +1 counters.
I'm not sure what you mean by Auras though.

What I meant by auras is that any aura that boosts the creatures toughness lets it survive. Giant Growth effects also work.
And how many decks use a lot of +1/+1 counters. Their not rare, but I'd say most decks don't use them at all, while you can build a deck full of creatures with undying and other +1/+1 counter stuff and it turns this into a one-sided wrath.

I didn't realize that. Is the same true for p/t buffing Equipment as well?

This card is going into WARFORGE (see the Other forum, first page) which utilizes +1/+1 counters and equipment quite a bit, so contextually, it's at a disadvantage.
I even think that in the eternal cardpool it's inferior to Damnation except in those cases where people design a deck to exploit the mechanic. Which is what all deckbuilding amounts to. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Yup. It used to be different but about two years ago they changed the layering system so that power and toughness setting effects (such as this, manlands, and stuff like Humble and Lignify) apply first and then any power and toughness modifying abilities (anything with a + or - in it) get applied second. It used to be that stuff like this were applied at the same time as stuff like Giant Growth and they fought it out based on timestamps while permanent stuff like enchantments, equipment, and counters were applied latter.

First, that counter theme just makes it easier to abuse, although I do admit their is more chance that your opponent is trying the same thing. But as far as it's comparison to Damnation in other formats this does a lot of things it doesn't. First, it kills indestructible creatures which is huge (in fact it does it in two different ways). It also deals with most creatures that have triggered abilities that go off when they hit the grave.

This feels like a different, but mildly better Damnation. This will allow you to kill a LOT of things that Damnation won't, but are more valuable targets (your Darksteel/Blightsteel Collosi, for example), and it also cancels out both Persist, Undying and anything else that makes the death useful, making the wrath more effective. However, it won't kill creatures that have ANY level of boosting, such as an Uril/Bruna, anyone who's equipped and/or has Graft, or even one counter on them.
Is now using Dragon speech recognition software. It is very sweet.

Kinda reminds me of a black Humility. Pretty potent when in tandem with any of white's mass pump effects.
