Misthollow Griffin

Is anyone else curious about this card? I'm already trying to think of shenanigans with it. And why is it blue? Griffins are usually white; this seems more sphinx like, even though there are no sphinx on Innistrad.
Food Chain, Moorland Haunt, Force of Will, Planar Void, Seance, and the Skaab cards such as Skaab Ruinator might be fun with this guy.

Dear WoTC,
Please ban Paper Tiger.
Scissor Lizard is fine.

A boost for the Seance deck I've been working on, not sure why it was printed now though, with very little exile to do X.

Would it be playable with it? :P
Also the general cards with ETB and LTB effects and/or haste.

What's worse than paying 4 for a 3/3 flyer?
Paying 4 for a 3/3 flier, then including exile effects on your own creatures, just so you can pay 4 for a 3/3 flier again...
Seriously though,
You can cast it out of the helvault, and it can't be fiend-huntered or O-Ringed effectively...
Maybe a U/B control card? They're the only ones I can imagine who would have a game long enough where the resilience of the creature might be worth it..

There are way easier ways to get a supply of spirits though, and you have to kill it each time

why kill it yourself?
its a 3/3 flier. its either they kill it or die to it.
and the point is once hes in the grave you can get some mileage out of him as well, now they have to think how they want to stop him

...or they beat your face in with flyers or Wolf Run while you are fiddling around with this slow combo.
Very cool, unique effect, but way too slow to see play in a normal deck. In competitive play it will only see play in some sort of weird combo.
