Here is your angel: Avacyn,Angel of Hope
I know this should be moved to a new category named AVR but i couldn't wait.
From MTG Salvation:
Avacyn,Angel of Hope
| Legendary Creature - Angel |
|
Flying, Vigilance
Avacyn, Angel of Hope and other permanents you control are indestructible. |
| A golden helix streaked skyward from the Helvault. A thunderous explosion shattered the monolith, and Avacyn emerged, free from her prison at last. |
| Illus. Jason Chan #6/244 |
8/8 |
IMO highly unplayable in Constructed as Fiend Hunter, Oblivion Ring, Tragic Slip, Sever the Bloodline and clones make fun of her and she doesn't provide any form of Lifelink or hexproof.
Maybe i am wrong i would prefer to Reanimate Elesh Norn. Though it looks sweet i must say.
Perhaps if you compare it with Iona, shield of Emeria she seems much much weaker...
Maybe i ll proove wrong or she is perfect for some other format i am not familiar with.. Just would like to see a new baneslayer..

If you know, then why'd you do it?

Moderators when they will create the Avacyn restored category will move it there.
Because i wanted to discuss about this. I don't think it is the end of the world..

I like the card. I mean I wasn't expecting anything ridiculously overpowered, just something that is a good, heavy card. Board protection is always nice. I was actually surprised they didn't give her and all of her other permanents hexproof, too, that would have been a bit more "game winning" and could have been on par with that other angel, Angelic Overseer. But the biggest reason I love her is because Kaalia of the Vast will LOVE her in my EDH Commander deck! Muhahahaha!
P.S. - Notice how she is number 6 in the set, and her name is Avacyn. I bet we will be seeing a few other cards with Avacyn's name in them...

Dear WoTC,
Please ban Paper Tiger.
Scissor Lizard is fine.

Hmm. Seems like the sort of card that's good in EDH, not so good in other constructed formats. Standard in particular is such that every deck has a good way to deal with her:
Tempered Steel - Dispatch
Wolf Run - Inkmoth Nexus (poison), sometimes has Phyrexian Metamorph
Humans - Oblivion Ring
U/W Delver - Phantasmal Image
G/W/B planeswalkers - Tragic Slip
Zombies - Phantasmal Image, Tragic Slip, Phyrexian Metamorph
U/B Control - same as Zombies, plus Black Sun's Zenith
Only red decks lack an answer to Avacyn, but if the red deck allows the opponent to survive that long, they've probably already lost. Not to mention that most of the listed decks can race an 8 mana creature. She's good in the sense that if reanimated, she'll win a lot of games against unprepared opponents, but she's still weaker than Elesh Norn in the meatgame.

If you can give her hexproof then she becomes very difficult to deal with.

As are most things that are indestructible and have hexproof. Your options are only a clone effect or something like Black Sun's Zenith.

Interesting Angel, but she's still no Akroma or Iona. Quite interested in what other things she's bringing in with her.
