    Default Mono-Blue Control in Pauper

Mono-Blue has always been a respectable archetype for Pauper, but it's popularity has taken off as of late due to the printing of Delver of Secrets, as well as its favorable matchup against the Goblin Storm decks that have recently dominated the metagame.

This is a pretty standard list that should be relatively self explanatory. Keep in mind that you can use Brainstorm to cheat your Delver into flipping, and Snap can be used to bounce a Spellstutter Sprite for reuse. Another frequent inclusion is Spire Golem, but that seems to be dropping off in popularity with the printing of Delver of Secrets.

Unfortunately, I don't have much more to offer on this one, as I haven't been able to pilot it yet; does anyone else have any more Insight into this deck? Discuss!

I have some Insight, Benobi! After a defeat against a standard deck that ran the flying pest known as Delver of Secrets, I decided to make a deck featuring the little bugger myself. I didn't have any Snapcaster Mage on hand, so I instantly found myself playing around in Pauper yet again. I ran a list very similar to yours, however I included a few Stitched Drake cards.

I found that Stitched Drake is also a very fitting card for the deck, as long as you have a creature to spare. It reminds me of Wormfang Drake card, that if I remember correctly, was quite popular in the Pauper format. I love the drake because it survives some of the biggest threats of Pauper, such as Lightning Bolt. a 3/4 flyer for 3 and an exiled critter is a pretty fair deal.

But I will be testing this deck further, and I will keep everyone informed! Thanks for the great idea,

    Dear WoTC,

    Please ban Paper Tiger.
    Scissor Lizard is fine.

Isn't that the definition of a blue tempo deck, as opposed to control?

It looks like there actually is a mono blue (and blue / red) Cloudpost control deck, with lots of Mulldrifters and Ulamog's Crushers. Maybe it's a recent development. It looks like a pretty sweet list, with lots of counterspells, card draw, and durdling.
I don't always play Magic, but when I do, I prefer cube draft.

Oh wow, did I really never put up a thread for 8-Post Control? DERP.

UR 8-Post is a pretty well-established archetype; in the time that I've been playing it's never been "the best deck", but it's always a contender, and it's one of my personal favorites. I'll get a Sticky up for it tomorrow.
