Card Flipper
I always wanted to break Necrotic Ooze, I don't think it'll ever happen, though. It is pretty cute how you can infinitely loot with the scholar in your graveyard, though.

If this deck takes off, I'll be excited. It seems really cool on paper and very fun to play, but I get the sense that there's some inconsistency there as well and it does seem like it can be a chore to pull off the combo at times.
I wish anybody piloting this deck success. Pretty neat idea.

I really liked the idea when i first saw it. Though i can not imagine that this can be possibly be realistic.
The more consistent way you can get your combo going is have a Civilized Scholar in the yard and a hasty Necrotic Ooze in your hand. But even then can you really go infinite looting? Don't think so cause to do so you got to discard a creature with every looting so you can untap ooze, until you can find at least discard Bloodline Keeper and grimgrin... Not to mention that to be sure you got to find the unblockable guy as well.
I really like the combo but it seems so incosistent. I don't know though if other creatures can help as well, like Soliton Perhaps in your GY?? If you untap with the ooze you got some activation still by untapping the ooze with Soliton ability which can make deck much more reliable to find its puzzle pieces...

Sideboard:
Meta dependant
The idea behind this one is the fact that there are so many hyper aggressive decks in the format atm, and Tree of Redemption helps keep them at bay for a short while, allowing you to go off before you die. It also allows you to gain infinite life in lieu of Tresspassing souleater,
Splinterfright is just a big *** dude that helps you dig for the combo while being (usually) a nice sized blocker while also giving you an alternate win condition with a huge trampling monster.
Mulch is similar to the other mill in the deck, while also allowing you to run less land and get away with it (Might cut a land due to mulch), and usually gives you the mana to be able to cast the things you need to to go off. The only downside of this is that it hits your lunges. Still testing how good this is, however.
I am trying to fit Molten-Tail Masticore in somewhere but I just cannot find room.

I use it very frequently. I love draw-discarding like 4 creatures, then Ponder/ Forbidden Alchemy/dream twisting to get even more cycle going. I've put over 20 things in the yard with this interaction in a single turn before. If you get just scholar or scholar and a piece or 2, it will usually get you what you need to just win the game. It also gives you the ability to dump all the pieces from your hand that you need in the yard when you Lunge a dead Ooze back. The deck would just not work correctly if not for this small combo.
You're not WAY off base, and i want to have 1-2 more assistants in the deck, but there is simply no room. The combo itself takes up a LOT of space. Looter is fine, but you need SPEED to be able to keep up with aggro, and assistant helps give you a little more.

Have you considered Jace's Archivist? You can dump a lot more cards into the yard if you have a decent size hand. I always liked the synergy of Necrotic Ooze + Jace's Archivist.

I'll have to take your word on it until I can playtest it and see for myself. My gut is to commit the only vulnerable part of my wincon combo as late as possible to minimize their chances of messing with it, and committing the ooze just to dig and hope to hit the combo seems like a gamble. But playtesting could bear out that it's just so unlikely to stall out that it's not really that much of a gamble.

On which note, I was considering Armored Skaab. My hunch is that a Deranged Assistant or looter wouldn't get many more than 4 activations over the course of normal game (since the deck doesn't have the control elements to stop them from killing you for too long), which'd mean that the skaab is "faster" and provides a bigger butt to soak up aggro.
Room is definitely tight, even without the third color. I've got a decklist penned and I just bought the cards I'd need to fill it out, so I want to play with it a bit more before wasting everyone's time with a stupitarded list.

i have been testing this deck for a few days and it is ver fun to play with, it has a pretty good game one except against VERY aggresive decks unless u are very lucky, i do not like the green splash though i think just goung U/B is the way to go, this is the list im playing with right now:
grave hate sucks!!
4 Necrotic Ooze
4 Forbidden Alchemy
2 Postmortem Lunge
2 Jace, Memory Adept (for milling yourself 10-20 cards and maybe save some damage also)
4 Dream Twist
3 Doom Blade (i really need come kind of protection)
3 Bloodline Keeper
3 Grimgrin, Corpse-Born
4 Spellskite
1 Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon
2 Trespassing Souleater
4 Merfolk Looter (i like this better than the scholar as i only play ooze when i can win with it)
4 Drowned catacumb
4 Darkslick Shores
2 Nephalia Drownyard
7 island
7 swamp
