Exclamation Daily Discussion - New TNB

TNB is, no doubt, a competitor in the post-Overload Golden Age. The question truly becomes what is the best build?

Should the new build focus on burn, KO effects or combat tricks? All of these have worked in the past for TNB, but which is the best choice in the new environment?

    Default TNB Blitz

TNB blitz is the best build in my opinion aka vs realms build. just take out the not so fast since OL isnt a threat anymore.

i played in a pcq last weekend using a kiwi deck (GL/EE) and i was able to beat 5 tnb decks that day. i think tnb has to be meta-ed in some way against kiwi. breaking grounds >>> the new brotherhood means game over for tnb. tnb's men are nothing more than little guys.

Burn ends the game faster, which is what TNB is trying to do anyway. It works all the time without requiring metagaming. 'Nuff said.

TNB with some extra combat tricks and Koin will run down anything. I've seen it done, a bad TNB deck won because they were able to Ko on the defensive. TNB will run over a GLEE deck if they KO on defense, then run through on offense cause breaking ground only gets one thing if they have no characters to exhasut other than DR. light or what ever they pull, and then it's too late.

I like the style that Need A Name mentions. Extra KO tricks and more KO'ing is what appeals to me best. It's deadly to think about when things go smoothly, and in case they go and destroy your TNB's then you'll still be equally as dangerous due to the combat pumps you have laying in wait in your hand. Good times.

I don't think that Munchkin TNB is the best kind of TNB for this Metagame right now like you were saying if all you play is smaller guys and your living on a prayer that you have a TNB then your just asking to get Breaking Grounded..that's why I think the more formidable choice for the Metagame right now is Medium TNB simply because as long as you have Combat Pumps a TNB in the row is not necessary..sure it's great if you can pull one or two in the row but simply because of the fact that it is not necessary is the reason I pick it over the Smaller Builds of TNB..let's take a look at Gabe Walls old version of Medium TNB and we can see that it won, one of the earlier Tournaments off hand I can't think of it but it did get first place..Not so Fast is not needed anymore because Overload is no longer a threat..this is why we use it to put in things that are more needed..such as One more Genosha to give us a playset and one more Magneto (especially extended art because it's awsome) to give us Three and you can even throw in a Global Domination if you really hate those Oa's..if your lucky enough to draw it..but in the Metagame we have I can already feel that even in Golden Age Kiwi is going to be a strong force and with Kiwi decks running 4 breaking grounds I just don't think that praying that they don't pull one to make all your weenie guys look like cannon fodder to their very large squirrel on 4 is worth all that Humiliation..Do you? so do the right thing and play Medium because it's the right choice..for you!

Actually, the whole point of no overload is combat tricks. That's the thing thats changed. Also, you get several extra slots that can be dedicated for either more pumps or savage lands or KO effects. Otherwise, you're just running the same deck that didn't hack it before.
