    Default May or Misty

I've been reading some of the post around here lately and I seems that it's evenly split between the popularity of them both unless I'm very much mistaken. I don't know if there's been a post like this already. If it is I'm sorry.

I'm a Misty fan and probably will always be unless they can come up with someone cooler. I liked her interaction with everyone a lot better. I can watch episodes with Misty over and over again whereas with May I watch the episodes once and I don't want to see them again. I know it just me but it just feels like something is missing without Misty. May is growing on my but she'll probably never be one of my favorites.

That's my opinion. Who's you're favorite? May or Misty?
I'm still here and still an outsider.

I'm really sorry I haven't been here in a long time. School happened, lightning striking my computer happened, money troubles happened... Ahhh It's good to be back....

I have no real issue with Max, but for some reason May creeps me out. Misty fit well in the show's early attempt to make Ash's and TR's lives parallel. Unrequited love, cluelessness, fiery tempers, lofty goals that will never see fruition: both the heroes and TR had these. May upset that balance. It's like Ash is training with his mom (although I guess that's not fair since Veronica does all 3 voices, but still). It's like ... and with the knowledge from someone on this board that she's far more popular in Japan ... May was set up to be more "appropriate" for Ash: demure, into "girly" things, etc, things that Japanese men are starting to resent because feminism is taking a bigger hold on the women every year. Misty was probably kicked off the show because her temper, her goals of being a Water master, etc was just a smidge too modern for our friends of the Rising Sun.

Misty. She's a feminist, a bit of a tomboy. OK, she's creeped out by bugs, but apart from that, she's not a girly girl. Like me.

May is too sweet and girly, and the interplay between May and Max is somewhat annoying. (And I'm still disturbed that when Advance started, she was supposed to be 10, getting her first-ever pkmn - yet she had breasts and hips of a girl much older!).

I have to agree with ImJessieTR. It was a lot better when their was a powerhouse with both the heroes and Team Rocket. It was balanced. Misty herself was more balanced: she could be sensitive when she needed to. Now I've received disturbing news that May will be on the next adventure and Misty will be there for only THREE episodes. Sheesh. What did I do to deserve that??

misty is by far better. The only reason i like may, is because she does the Pokemon contest, but i bet if misty was there, she could blow the competition out of the water (literally). Misty's Pokemon are by far more advance than May's (misty has corsela, Gyrados, Starmie, staryu, Dewgong, and other great water pokemon and may has combusken, beatifly [something misty would never have], and that little cat thing) plus May has no idea what she is doing, while misty could easily beat most people. so M<isty by far is my favorite.

Misty, because she's more outrageous and very real. Besides that, it's good to see Ash having someone whom, I think, as more than friend. Sheesh...Misty would be the perfect girl for him.

Misty is from the beggining which is one reason we like her, if you notice the show was slightly more adult in Kanto, and has since become more aimed at a slightly younger audience, May and Max bring a brother/sister relationship which works better for younger viewers, *sigh* Misty rocks though..

I'll take May. Misty was ok in Kanto and the Orange Islands but she drowned in Johto with no way to advance her character, plus all those endless fillers. -_-

May(and to a smaller extent Max) brought back a breath of fresh air to the show and has made Hoenn my favorite part of the series. Plus I'm an advanceshipper Ash/May w00t!

Oh and to answer the question above May didn't know what she was doing in the beginning, now she does. She's actually pretty good now and has defeated some strong trainers.

Misty will always be MY girl from Pokemon. May is a little prissy *****, and I for one can't WAIT for her to fall into some endless pit somewhere and for Misty to come back and actually have a relationship with Ash...
