    Default Blightsteel Colossus deck

The deck's main idea is live enough to have 12 lands, tap them and play one of magic's most powerful creatures. I'm not sure if I live for 12 turns against every deck, but against many decks I could live.

    Here's the deck:

    Lands:

    12 Island
    5 Plains
    3 Seachrome Coast
    3 Glacial Fortress

    2x Blightsteel Colossus

    Enchantments:

    4x Journey to Nowhere
    2x Pacifism
    2x Arrest
    4x Oblivion Ring
    4x Spreading Seas

    Artifacts:

    4x Quicksilver Amulet

    Instant/Sorceries:

    4x Cancel
    4x Negate
    4x Stoic Rebuttal
    2x Shape Anew
    1x Foresee

I think the Shape Anew is unreliable when you have 4 Quicksilver Amulets and 2 Colossus. I think it might be better to look at a G route and go for ramping plus Summoning Trap. Similar to the typical Eldrazi Green list, but ending in Blightsteel Colossus instead of one of the legendary Eldrazi.

Eldrazi block won't be in standard in 3 months, but I want to make a more permanent deck with the scars of mirrodin block. In your opinion, how many Shape Anew, Quicksilver Amulet and Blightsteel Colossus must be in the deck?

Just a question though, why not build around Shape Anew into Blightsteel Colossus since you already have it? I thought that certainly is a stronger strategy than trying to stall to 12 lands and casting it.

Inkmoth Nexus, Blade Splicer, Trinket Mage into a Darksteel Axe/ Darksteel Relic are a few ways for you to get artifacts reliably for Shape Anew, without having you to commit too many slots for actual artifact cards. Moreover none of this will be rotating anytime yet.

Or you possibly could try a few other ways to cheat Blightsteel Colossus into play.

    1) Kuldotha Forgemaster. With Swiftfoot Boots and Spellskite, you do and can protect Kuldotha Forgemaster while being potential fuel to sacrifice for it. Moreover both of those cards do also protect Blightsteel Colossus from removal before it lands a hit. Furthermore searching Blightsteel Colossus with Kuldotha Forgemaster at the end of your opponents' turn will allow it to attack on your turn, while being immune to sorcery removal such as Oblivion Ring.

    2) Mass Polymorph. It most probably won't be in the colours of UW but most probably UGR, whereby you play several green's token generators then Mass Polymorph into Blightsteel Colossus and a Urabrask the Hidden to attack for the win. However most cards of such a deck would be rotating out soon once Innistrad hits.

    3) Grand Architect. There can be several ways you can get Blightsteel Colossus into play via this strategy.

    a) With other blue creatures and Grand Architect, you could be able to generate enough mana to cast that Blightsteel Colossus.

    b) You could possibly play Everflowing Chalice and Solemn Simulacrum which helps you ramp up your mana as well. These cards also do have synergy with the Grand Architect archtype as well.

    c) You could possibly play Quicksilver Amulet in this deck. Cast a few blue creatures on turns 1 and 2, then into Grand Architect on turn 3. Tap all blue creatures to generate the mana required for Quicksilver Amulet on the same turn, in which a turn 3 Blightsteel Colossus is rather possible.

Even better with such an archtype is that even if you do not have Blightsteel Colossus in hand, there's always Treasure Mage to search it out for you. Or otherwise just attack with a bunch of blue creatures with Grand Architect as your Plan B.

Well I hope I've helped. Not sure if it's competitive enough but wish you have fun casting that Blightsteel Colossus.

I would def look more towards the Shape Anew combo than trying to actually hard cast it. I posted my blue/black Shape Anew deck a while back and it was pretty reliable. Blue/white is just as strong with Master's Call to generate artifact tokens which you can sac for Shape Anew. Throw that combo into a control shell like blue/white and you can have some serious fun. I also like Cryptoplasm in a build like this, he can copy any creature which can protect you early and then he can copy blightsteel when you go to swing, its hard to stop 22 infect/trample damage from rolling in.

Also Inkmoth Nexus is another gem. I used it in my blue/black Shape Anew deck, along with the Trinket Mage/Darksteel Relic. I will say you should have some artifact hate main decked because Tumble Magnet will ruin your day when you turn 4 a blightsteel and they proceed to just tap it down and not let you swing with it.

Also note Shape Anew can also be redirected with Spellskite, I don't see a whole lot of Spellskite in my area but I did have a Tezz deck Redirect my Shape Anew and he hit a Wurmcoil Engine, which sucked for me.

Its a really fun deck but trying to hard cast it will be really hard, if you wanna run Quicksilver Amulet then I would drop the Shape Anew, you don't want to sac and hit anything other than Blightsteel. I like Quicksilver, kind of like a more expensive Elvish Piper, but still fun. And in decks like that I can feel free to run random off color creatures, and the Blue praetor might actually hit the battlefield now, which will be interesting.

I would agree with WilliamH. Either go the Shape Anew plus non-artifact-card artifacts (Master's Call, any of the Splicers, Inkmoth Nexus, etc) with Blightsteel Colossus being the only artifact in your deck, or the Quicksilver Amulet route and just look to control the board till you can hit the combo.
Personally I think the Amulet route would be more powerful as you'd only really need to dedicate 6-8 slots to it and everything else to a traditional Blue/White control deck. The Shape Anew combo takes much more deck space.

My golem deck looked like this:

    4 Blade Splicer
    4 Master Splicer
    4 Winged splicer
    4 Shape Anew
    3 Precursor Golem
    1 Blightsteel Colossus

Typically you can just win by Attrition with all your golem tokens. If not, Shape Anew will hit Blightsteel 1/4 times. Now heres the fun part. Lets say you cast Precursor Golem then you get a Shape Anew in hand:

Cast Shape Anew on one golem, it copies for the other two, this guarantees you 2 precursor golems and a Blightsteel Colossus giving you a whopping total of 6 golems 2 of them precursor and a blightsteel. Unless your opp has an answer next turn you can cast any splicer to buff your colossus.

And just a side note, I played Twisted Image so my opponent couldnt Spellskite my Shape Anew. An interesting side effect of Twisted Image is that it draws you a card. Nothing quite like casting a Twisted Image on one of YOUR golems when a precursor is on the board drawing tons of cards at instant speed for 1 blue.
Selling my entire collection for less than half of its cost!!!

    Default blue architect/ blightsteel ramp

    here's a deck that i'm testing currently

    4 Grand Architect
    4 Thrummingbird
    4 Blighted Agent
    2 Viral Drake
    4 Phyrexian Metamorph
    2 Blightsteel Colossus
    4 Into the Roil
    4 Contagion Clasp
    2 Contagion Engine
    1 Lux Cannon
    3 Caged Sun
    3 Ratchet Bomb
    2 Elixir of Immortality

    4 Inkmoth Nexus
    2 Tectonic Edge
    16 islands

ramping up to cast blightsteel by 5-6 turn isn't hard, plus the metamorph to duplicate is awesome. Ratchets/Into the Roil are for early game against hawkward and quest. I'm thinking of tossing in tumble magnets, maybe Oust both elixirs and lux. I don't like quicksliver amulet if it's only going to be used to drop the colossus, i can hard cast everthing else, that's why Caged Sun/architect/metamorph will ramp for you. Anyway, feed back is appreciated, especially sideboard thanks.
