Whenever a permanent you control would be destroyed, Regenerate it. If you do, you lose 1 life.

Notes:

• This is a reverse Lich. Lich says you get cards instead of life and lose permanents instead of life. This says you get life instead of cards and lose life instead of permanents.
• Broken? Crap? I really don't know what to make of it. It's obviously ridiculous in a board state that allows you to gain life and get cards through other means than drawing... but those board states usually have "win" written all over them anyway.

I don't know if this can be made to work, but if it can, it would probably result in very boring hard locks. Also, not drawing cards is the opposite of fun.
