Best deck to beat Vampires?
I play magic with my friends and I have a friend who runs a Discard Mono Black Vampire Deck. I can't seem to consistently beat him and it's driving me nuts. So now I'm going to start a deck from the ground up with beating Vampires in mind. It can't be just strictly anti-vampire because then it will look like I made the deck only to beat his.
So what type of deck is my best bet against mono-black discard Vampires?
I have access to most cards with an emphasis on blue and artifact, but sadly no Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
Thanks for your help

Well any deck that has both burn and a solid form of life gain. My Naya deck destroys Vamps, B/R Vamps, U Vamps, any kind of vamps. It's got the burn... the life gain... and the fatties. Check it out...

Card Flipper
Personal opinion: Mono-Green Aggro With or without Vengevine.
Mono-black can make you discard, but lots of people play Obstinate Baloth even in a sideboard just for this sole reason. If nothing else, he helps you gain 4 life while putting a 4/4 creature out there for 4.
Black has no answer for a Genesis Wave (Scratch that, Massacre Wurm which isn't a Vampire, and Black Sun's Zenith which kills all of his creatures too) As long as you get to the point where you are putting out a Genesis Wave where X is 5 or more, you will get everything you want and then some out of it.
If you're looking for blue/artifact instead, you should consider going the Caw-Sword route and have See Beyond and Jace Beleren replace Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
The things that I've seen work best against Vampires are having quick blockers to stop the fast damage (Squadron Hawks, Llanowar Elves, Overgrown Battlement) and cards that are pro-black (White Knight, Mirran Crusader, Sword of Feast and Famine). You have many options, pick one and go from there.

White decks are my best against vamps. Leyline of Sanctity shuts down Kalastria Highborn. Then a well timed Day of Judgment with your opponent at 1 or 2 cards in hand can seal the game. If youre playing cawgo gatekeeper shouldnt even scare you.

Caw-go. Its the only deck witch can beat BR vampires easily.

Thanks for all the help guys, I am loving Leyline of Sanctuary it's the kind of card that would completely Demoralize him. I just built an exact replica of a tourny deck I saw on the site.

Should this deck be able to take a Mono Black Vamp deck? I don't want to play him with my fancy new deck only to have it torn apart.

That statement is so far from true it's not even funny.

Seriously? Are you joking? I hope so, because there are plenty of decks that can beat Vampires.
@Ppowers737
Your WW Quest deck is a good one. You will probably be able to beat Vampires with it... no guarantees though! Also, as Djnelson486 said, mono green is good. Mono green elves can easily outrace Vampires, and have more powerful finishers such as Genesis Wave, Gaea's Revenge, etc. If WW Quest does not work out, then try mono green ramp!
EDIT: Looks like Rancidben beat me to the refutation of Ally's post.
Darkjester7, refusing to net-deck since 7th Edition.

Caw go is good against Vamps but it's far from easy. I've run Br Vamps for a while now and I can admit that Day of Judgement, Gideon, Squandron Hawks, and Leyline of Sanctity out of the board are good against Vamps, but I wouldn't call it easy. Vamps have good sideboard options too in Dark Tuteledge or even Jinxed Idol. I've played Caw-go, both the old version and the new Stoneforge Mystic version and I've had reasonable success. Playing first is really important and keeping a hand that applies a lot of pressure also is.
Playing Vamps, I think it has the hardest time against GW quest or aggro artifact builds. They jus have so many small guys so fast and an equipped Argentum Armor or resolved Tempered Steel is quite difficult to beat. Especially since if they are good players, they'll equip an artifact to play around GFT. Try these out and see if they work.

Thanks for all the input guys, I am planning on running a slightly modified version of that Quest WW deck I showed. Any other suggestions are still very welcome though.
See the problem with my friends deck is (even though he would never admit it) he built it with beating my artifact deck in mind. He doesn't even sidebar Go for the Throat! So I hope by mopping the floor with him a good amount of times he will try to reinforce his deck to better stand up against a quest deck. Then I could tear through him with my Tempered Steel Myr deck, Tezz Infect, and Kuldotha Red. At this point he will be so dishartened by the constant losing of his Vamps that he might give up on them all together and I could finally be done playing that foul, foul deck.
So yea... sorry to rant.
