Card Flipper
Karakuri Klock
I've already checked for rulings on yugioh's website and check here, but I can't seem to find the ruling... can Karakuri Klock be activated when your Karakuri monster is attacked and changed to defense position via it's own effect? Just need clarification since I seem to be getting different answers. Thanks.

But what if it was in Attack Position? It then changes to Defense and then I can still activate it, correct? I've been told that Karakuri Klock can't be activate unless the monster attacked started the battle in defense position.

Key is correct, Karakuri monsters' effect that switches them from attack to defense position starts a chain during attack declaration. If you wait till the effect resolves and the Karakuri monster to be in defense position you can no longer activate Karakuri Klock since there is only one chain in response to attack declaration.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm assuming that if it were to be in Face-Down Defense Position it still wouldn't work since it's not recognized as a Karakuri monster until it's Face-Up and by the time that happens you've already entered the Damage-Step, correct?

That is exactly right.

Gotcha, thanks for all the help. Karakuri don't seem as broken as once thought, still fun though.
