regionalz report XSABERZ!!

ok so well this past saturday was my first regionals. it was in atlanta and i live in orlando FL, so it was quite a drive to get there. The shop owner of where i go to play decided to take a bunch of us up there to play,trade,buy and sell cards. i went manly for the experience, and boy what an experience lol. i also went to prepare for the Orlando regionals this coming saturday.

so friday i took the bus to my locals, and about 7 of us piled into 2 cars and we took off to Georgia. well about 5 mins into our little adventure the car i was in gets a flat tire (what bad luck DX) so we had to fix it and continue. well for those of you that dont know the drive from orlando to Atlanta is about 7 hours, (6 hours if you are speeding.) and so we left our store at around 11:30.... PM...... so a long and boring ride later, a ride which i wasnt able to get any sleep on.... and i still have yet to sleep at all since thursday..... it is now sunday so yea........

we get there at around 7, i grab a binder of commons, and sell a good portion of it, which was difficult because no one wanted commons at all they all wanted holos for their decks. at around 9:50 i descided it was time to enter because there was only 10 minutes left to register. i register in time and enter.
so now the fun began....

Match 1
Saber vs Infernities

Game 1: i go first set darksoul, set 2 back row, a MST and a BTH and pass. he goes and sets 1 monster and 4 back row. i end phase MST his BTH. i draw and summon a FHK and flip my dark soul, drop a faultroll into a great Hyunlei play blowing up the rest of his traps. and he just cant recover from there.

Game 2: he opens up 10x more broke than i could, trunades and goes off with infernity shinangans, for the game win.

Game 3: no trunade this time so i wreck him with SIM, i play Conservatively at first with that sitting on the field till i trunade and beat face for the win.

Match 2
Sabers vs GBs

Game 1: open a hand of super nothing, 2 faultrolls, 1 darksoul, 1 trapstun, and a boggart knight. i top deck emmersblade and set it and my Trap Stun and pass. he goes kills my emmersblade, i bring out a darksoul, he tags into a liquarie ...(bad spelling my bad, its the tiger thing), and sets 3 back row and passes. i top deck into a FHK, i go Trap Stun, drop FHK, drop both faultrolls, and hit him in the face for quite a bit and pass, getting a FHK and a Emmersblade from a double darksoul search. he top decks Dark Hole....... and passes. i summon the FHK and draw into my Saber Hole, which i had cause i didnt have my 2nd warning. he goes and summons i negate it with the hole, and then on my turn i go Brio for the win.

Game 2: i side deck almost nothing, he sides into D fissures and it totally threw me for a bit, but couldnt recover with no searchers, and a Monster Reborn sitting in hand since the opening.

Game 3: i side out everything out of my deck that has to deal with the graveyard at all and side in most of my extra deck, but it was close game but again it was Brio for the win.

Match 3
Sabers vs Blackwings

Game 1: he wings roll and sets 3 and summons a Tking ...... i look at it, look at my hand of searchers and know i lost, but i play it out anyway, a few turns later he wins with 2 bora and his Tking, never drew an answer.

Game 2: i side in 11 cards, didnt see a single one of them and he wrecks my face with Tking ....... blackwings maining 3 Tking is an abomination.
the guy however was pretty cool , he was young but apparently he topped a YCS. This was also my only LEGITIMATE loss of the night.

Match 4
Sabers Vs some dark piece of ..... (sigh no profanity)

game 1: he does a bunch of shinanigans, but not sleeping for 26 hours strait at the time was hitting me hard, i judgement an e tele, and warning a monster, he stacks for plague and wins with goyo.

game 2: i smash him with my side he couldnt do anything with SIM on the field.

Game 3: both of us misplay badly, but i got the short end of the deal, i had SIM on the field, and he was activating dark monsters effects left and right and i was just to tired to really notice, i SW a plague and he is able to kill me with a physic commander (that card should be banned)

2-2 was so pissed with my self for loseing to that, that i woke my self up, cause unless i lost again i still had a chance at topping, so i kept going.

Match 5
by this time almost 70 ppl had dropped.
Sabers Vs synchrodandy variant

game 1: he plays fissures and annoys the heck out of me, with all 3, but that is all he draws, so i win.

Game 2: i smash him with an early swarm, and effect veiler Debris for game.

Match 6
Sabers Vs Synchro plant, a different variant.... or like a 1 card difference lol

game 1: i open broke and he losses .... there wasnt much more to that.

Game 2: he opens broke, but i am able to fight him to the bitter end, he wins with 150 life points left.

Game 3: this one went to time, we started it and then 2 turns in time was called, and i just couldnt beat through him stalling with tokens fast enough to win, this was bull but hey, it happens.

3-3 i drop, i was so tired even though there was a chance of me still topping i just couldnt do it, at the time i hadnt slept in over 35 hours.

Pros: being able to make changes to my deck so i know what i need to win the orlando regionals.
cons: loseing to lack of sleep D:

X-Saber Airbellum (this was a change imade, i found that i was always in need of a tuner for most matches, and using a Airbellum would solve my tuner problem, and add another Xsaber monster to the deck, still testing him out.)
XX-Saber Emmersblade x3 ( in the regionals i only had 2 and that really hurt.... it was bad, i had to use 2 giant rats to recoup the loss of that third emmersblade, and i am still looking for a 3rd.)

Hey did you play a kid using GB after the tournament for fun? I remember playing some guy using a saber deck who said he was at his first regional and I remember you Saber holing one of my Glads..

lol yea it was me and nice glad deck btw XD. i beat glads in the tourney twice just couldnt do anything against yours though

fyi, i ran a blackwing deck with 3 mained tkings. it is broke. lol. sucks you had to play against that, because that is almost an auto loss. good luck next time
