Deck Discussion:R/G Madness
Hello all.
Recently Hugh Moore wrote an article about R/G Madness and I actually really liked the decklist.

This is a deck that can actually use Rancor a.k.a da best G spell in da game.
You can adjust this decklist pending on how much affinity/control in your area.

this is a good decklist.
It powerful and fast but i think that the addition of arrogant wurm would be justified.
i would probably take out 1 river boa and 1 kris mage.

I thought tha point fo playing this deck was to have a Anger in the grave and play things so fast that you outrun people. a Wurm in this situation would be very good. The Eruption seems like it would be too janky so cut that to 2 and maybe put a Fire Ice in it's place.

No, he is right angers do help a lot. You need to outrun them. Besides that the overall deck looks pretty good to me

outrun them with what kris mage? o thats right we run lavamancer hes serius beats guyz! no anger is not good. we attack with mongrel and rootwalla and boa. thats about it. we burn to the head with the 4 spells oh yea and eruption. 4 damage for three....is good...well how about 2 damage and kill 2 weenies or a 2 toughness or even a wurm for three? its good fire and ice. wel no blue so ice is usless that leaves fire? great idea. sarcasm....
ny ways onto wurm....nope not at all. we have no evasion...no wonder so wurms dont fly. that means there chumped and 3 mana can be better spent in this deck. same for roar. great cards but they dont fit as good into the deck.
ny ways i saw the article 2 and decided to try it it did seem interesting and at 2 extended i took first and i took 3rd. not bad{the 3rd was my first time ever with this deckno playtesting built it on the way.} my only change so far has been 4 mages and 3 trolls in side. i have alot of affinity and i think 3 trolls is enuff.
ny ways the deck is good straight foward. burn there head or a potential threat if needed and swing with rancor mongrels and boas. i usually have a rootwalla sit back later game for a chump if i need it. the best part about this deck tho is the abilitie to loose its aggro. against u/g i drop a bridge and empty my hand then lavamancer and kris{madness burns as well} a victory. i beat madness alot now...oh yea contrary to his siding technique i also put in sulfuric vortex when i bring in bridge to sped up my victory....
however like he said....i cant beat life...at all.....i cant stop rock either{the 1st place i was luky and it got taken out early}. i can stop alluren tho!

Yes. life is quite a hard match-up, but who can deal with life without counters in the first place? lol
Well the thing I like about this deck is that drop bridge and you beat reanimator which other agro decks have a problem against.
I will have to do further testing, but I tested vs u/b mana denial affinity and a single rancored mongrel went all the way with little help from mage/mancer combo.

Well, RG madness isn't very good because it has NONE of the backup plans of UG madness. No efficient card draw engines, few effective sb tricks, etc. It's basically a bad beatdown deck.
That said, beatdown is good, and it is at least a FAST beatdown deck. Anger is a must. I would probably add Squee, since he's reusable discard, and you really need another madness engine (Since Kris mage is just a bad Thought Courier). Nostalgic Dreams is too narrow I think, but worth testing. Masticore?
And what, exactly, is River Boa doing in this deck?

I think this deck will be considerably more consistent than the above version, since Squee adds to your throughput, thee ar more outlets, and Arrogant Wurm is a no brainer. Of course, this deck doesn't really abuse Squee the way he should be abused, but he's very useful nonetheless.

You are criticizing a decklist that is better than yours first of all...
River Boas kill control and is something to rancor.
Anger is not good at all...waste spots when you could put burn.
haha cabal therapy sideboard come on.... if it was a good idea wouldn't U/G use it.
I mainly like this deck because of rancor.
Last ext season for rancor and this is the only beatdown deck that has 4 in it.
Hull Breach is not needed.
Squee??????

I feel that the idea that you have a very small chance of getting a turn one kill but, I must disagree that the anger should be here. The Anger allows for you to deal about 3+ damage turn 1 with a mox. The Anger gives the deck enough speed to out run your opponents so don't say that this doesn't belong here. Burning can't out run a angry Mongrel or wurm so deal with the facts. Other wise the deck is a solid build for the format.
