Hello there! I'm new here and I haven't played MTG for a while. My friend and I just started playing again and I'm starting to remember how much fun it was playing MTG with friends all night long. I was taking a long look at my crappy Myr deck which has to be one of the all time worst decks. After several years, Myr just aren't hip enough for me, so I set out to find a deck that is both strong, and fun.
My answer hit me in the head literially. I was climbing a tree in a vain attempt to hide from my sister, don't ask why, and I saw a squirrel. They have always been my favorite animals, little furry cute things. This one was not a nice squirrel, I watched in horror as it raised its hands, and revealed shiny claws, and then blood hit me square in the face. I was shocked, where had this blood came from? I looked around for the source of the blood and realized it was dripping on me from... The squirrel's mouth. I then looked up further and found a dead man, killed and torn to bits, and dozens of squirrels feasting on him. I promptly escaped, and the means I choose was to let go of the branches and drop 40 feet, I broke my leg but it was worth it to escape from the frenzied squirrels. That is when I realized... Squirrels can be cute and deadly, and I wondered if this also applied to MTG. (This is a joke).
I happened to run across Nate Heiss's article and I was in love at firsy sight. I then reviewed it again... And again, and I'm postitive I want this deck. However, there's one problem. The deck's outdated. I would like to update it, but I have no idea where to start since I haven't played in a long time. Here is the decklist.

The idea behind is to slow the game down enough with
Moment's Peace to cast
Opposition and
Squirrel Nest, then making a large amount of
Icily Manipulating squirrels and tapping your opponent's offensive measures. When possible, you lock up the game by casting
Static Orb, allowing you to keep all of your opponent's permanents tapped forever while you untap everything (by tapping the
Static Orb during your opponent's end step). The game tends to end rather quickly when this happens.
So here I am, humbly asking for your help, and any advice on what to take out and put in. I have a budget of $50 to spend on this deck, and I get my prices from Trollandtoad.com. If you have any questions on how the deck works on about squirrels and how they managed to drag a man up in a tree, feel free to ask.
