I like the concept, but I prefer it to work on all crittes instead, as it's too easy for the black mage to pay just 2 life to give his opponent's critters -2/-2. Sure it does squat against the mirror, but it's just too unfair against the other four colors, as well as colorless critters.

Well, I had thought that might come up. Edited.

What do you mean with Pandorum?
I mean : in latin it means "of the bent ones" or something like that (from pandus which means "bent" or "curved"), but still i don't understand why the card bears this name.
Why blue? Please do not try to fit blue in every card…
Why black? Adding life loss doesn’t make any spell black…
404.1. A triggered ability begins with the word "when," "whenever," or "at."
419.1a Effects that use the word "instead" are replacement effects.

It's the title of a new movie.

Ok, but what's a pandorum? How is it supposed to give -X/-X?

...Granted, taken literally, it doesn't work that well. I suppose you could assume it makes you "bent" in the mind?
Ok. However, when i read "Pandorum" i think about "Pandoro" which is an italian christmas cake.

lol. I assure you, the two are unrelated (Though that would be an interesting Un-card.)
