The Official Gladiator Beast Discussion Thread
This is to simply discuss Gladiator Beast:
Singles
Combos
Tech
Deck Construction
My MAIN reason for this is because many members tend to start discussions on Gladiator Beasts DECK threads, which is the wrong place to do so. I've seen a great increase in interest Gladiator Beasts on the forums for months now, so I think this will not only benefit myself, but to all those who are in need of Gladiator Beast help.
This is the place to finally get all your opinions out in the open, but keep the discussions to a respectful level. I will highly suggest that.

My MAIN reason for this is because many members tend to start discussions on Gladiator Beasts DECK threads, which is the wrong place to do so. I've seen a great increase in interest Gladiator Beasts on the forums for the past 2-4 weeks, so I think this will not only benefit myself, but to all those who are in need of Gladiator Beast help.
So, lets all discuss the MAIN topics that has been spreading around Gladiator Beasts threads:
- Is Elemental Hero Prisma worth the time and space?
- Is Gladiator Retiari worth the time and space?
- Is Burden of the Mighty better than Shrink?
- Is Mirror Wall better then CEDs and Dimensional Prisons?
- Will Rescue Cat Gladiator Beasts be enough to push the deck back to tier 1?
- Will OCG be the new form of Gladiator Beast fashion?
This is the place to finally get all your opinions out in the open, but keep the discussions to a respectful level. I will highly suggest that.

EDIT: If any other Mod thinks this is a bad idea, then I will have no problem with closing it.
1. No. Gyzarus based GB decks are too easy to beat with TeleDAD/PS.
2. Yes. Plaguespreaders get annoying.
3. Yes. Burden being continuous really makes it an amazing card.
4. I think that its better than Compulsory, but should be ran WITH Dimensional Prisons.
5. I think it will be Tier 1, for sure. Depends on how long it takes to master it, though.
6. Yes. Its the best it can be.

These both sort of contradict each other. OCG Gladiator Beasts are based upon Removal, which is way different from Rescue Cat Gladiator Beasts. So which one is actually better to you? OCG Gladiator Beasts can backfire at times in my opinion. You're restricted to Normal Summons and nothing else. If you don't have good enough field advantage where you're sure your attacks will go through, then you will stuck summoning useless monsters every turn, thus relying too much on your backrow.

Aggreed, Prisma isnt as good in a fast paced format such as this
DD Crow > Retiari... 'nuf said
As for the Burden/Shrink Argument, It really depends on your Meta, Burden can be better in situations, and Shrink can be better in situations, its up to you as the player to decide.
Not a huge fan of Mirror Wall, I think D. Prison is better in most cases.
Rescue Glads...over-rated IMO, but hey, I could be wrong...
OCG Glads > TCG Glads... OCG is Gawd...
"This is good, isn't it..."

Prisma isnt good in every build. but in its own buld i can be very usefull.in builds running stratos , prisma, 1/2 other warriors , and ROTA.
retiari is definatly worth siding, in a main deck hes not that great but 2 suprise an opponant w/ is good. retiari is better to use than crow; crow an only be used onece, and u must draw into it. retiari may be used multiple times as long as he isnt killed.and retiari may be searched at almost any time.so 1-2 in a side is pretty good.
burden is way better than shrink, it applies to more than one monster and is continuous, and may cause my opponant to have to use there MST/heavy/trunade or it may make them waste DAD ammo or a ryko, against LS, they may change lyla to defense to kill it, but then u can attack dfence lyla and tag.stardust w/ burden attack is 2000, can even get past hoplpmus, if it attacks hoplomus u can tag for a laqauri and attack and kill stardust.thougt ruler is at 1900.Rai-Oh is at 1500. it allows gladiators to CONTINUOUSLY
weaken opponants mosnters allowing you to easily take them out.
i personally like CED, because it can be used at any time, not when they attackk. and it has no cost.mirror wall would be next, can be used at any time, rather than when they attack.
theres not much that rescue cat can search beside test tiger and test ape, but in a deck w/ like 3 test apes and 3 test tigers, rescue cat could be awsome.
what is an example of OCG gladiators?

Well, I could be wrong myself, but I'm sure that OCG Inspired Gladiator Beasts use Dimensional Fissures with no Darius or Test Tigers.
Maybe FallofTroy can post one of his old decks, and I'm saying OLD because he's not playing them anymore. *snickers*

Shrink is better. It is a quick play so you can "chain" it to a attack then tag out. With burden, you have to attack them and trap cards are always there. Shrink>Burden and Prisma>Retari unless they got stardust
Goodnight

I have no problems against Shrink, but once Thought Ruler hits the field it's dead.
The problem I have with Prisma is the negative factor above the successful effect factor. A simple D.D. Crow can turn your Cold Wave > Prisma > Test Tiger combo into a -2 or -3, and it takes up a potential Normal Summon. Not to mention 1700 ATK does not cut it anymore. Dark Grepher and Lyla can ram it, Stratos can kill it, as well as Wulf, Thunder King, Garoth, Botanical Lion, and others.
Retiari is good to extent. He's good to spread out your options of monsters when you want to tag in 2 monsters from Gyzarus' effect.

- Is Elemental Hero Prisma worth the time and space?
depends on the build. If its the new popular d. fissure builds then no obviously. But its stilll good in burden GB.
- Is Gladiator Retiari worth the time and space?
It doesnt fit my playing style. But from play testing with Adam Corn it is better then crow in GB
- Is Burden of the Mighty better than Shrink?
yes. It should get more play in GB and i expect that. I would still run shrink though or even mirror walls.
- Is Mirror Wall better then CEDs and Dimensional Prisons?
I find them all similar to be honest. All should be looked upon using.
- Will Rescue Cat Gladiator Beasts be enough to push the deck back to tier 1?
yes. When the new GB comes out it will be screaming 1st turn Herak
- Will OCG be the new form of Gladiator Beast fashion?
I actually think they won't to be honest. They will spark ideas though. But TCGers will have to adjust to a different meta. And Burdens fit ou meta just right over d. fissures. Wanghu+burdens+GB have been great for me for the last 2 weeks.
