    Default Enemy Splice

    Reluctant Sacrifice
    Instant - Arcane

Sacrifice a creature. You gain life equal to that creature's power.

Splice onto enemy Arcane (As an opponent plays an Arcane spell,
you may reveal this card from your hand and pay its splice cost. If you do,
add this card's effects to that spell.)

    ---

    Scorch
    Instant - Arcane

Scorch deals 3 damage to you and 2 damage to each opponent.
Splice onto enemy Arcane - 1R

    ---

    Abrogate
    Instant - Arcane

Return a creature you control to its owner's hand.
Splice onto enemy Arcane - U

    ---

    Divine Conscription
    Instant - Arcane

Put a 1/1 white Spirit token into play. Each opponent
    gains 3 life.
Splice onto enemy Arcane - W

    ---

    Bolster
    Instant - Arcane

Put a +1/+1 on a creature you control. Each opponent
may search his or her library for a basic land and put
that card into play tapped. Then each player who
searched his or her library this way shuffles it.

Splice onto enemy Arcane - 1G

    ---

Thanks to gl490 and Chainer for the suggestions!

    Innovative, to say the least.

    Militia's Call W
Put a 1/1 white Soldier token into play. An opponent gains 2 life.
    Splice onto enemy arcane W

Innovative, but too strong as arcane hosers... Whenever your opponent casts, you activate an effect and he can do nothing to avoid it.
They should be ok as they are restricted in use as sideboard cards, but i don't know...
Why blue? Please do not try to fit blue in every card…
Why black? Adding life loss doesn’t make any spell black…
404.1. A triggered ability begins with the word "when," "whenever," or "at."
419.1a Effects that use the word "instead" are replacement effects.

very cool idea, although it has the same problem as shadow in that it doesn't work outside of the block. and im not sure if that wording works, how can you play an ability AS your opponent does something? maybe if you play the ability while its on the stack?

As your opponent announces the spell, you reveal the card you're going to splice.

so because the opponent controls the spell on the stack that player controls the spliced cards right? Which means for Reluctant Sacrifice they have to sacrifice a creature (Ala Edicts)?

Correct. The idea is that you can make them accidentally cast a spell the didn't mean to cast. The Reluctant Sacrifice is kind of like an Edict, but they also gain life for it. That's also why I'm avoiding anything with a target - it creates too much confusion as to who chooses the target.

    Default Great idea

Definitely a cool idea, but I think that you have to give up the idea that these cards would ever be anything more than Arcane hosers. They just suck too bad to ever hardcast. Although, now that I'm thinking about it, there is a way to do what you're doing more effectively:

    ~name~ (R)
    Instant - Arcane

~name~ deals 1 damage to each Spirit.

    Splice onto opposing Arcane 1R

If you have the spell only affect things around which you can design your deck (i.e. no Spirits in your deck), then the card actually has applications outside of the Splice mechanic. That is all.
