ive been wondering about this for a while. the effect of red eyes darkness dragon and others like it, do u tribute red eyes to special summon it or do u tribute red eyes when another card effect causes the card to be special summoned? please give an answer.

They are self special summoned.

If you have Red eyes darkness in hand, and Red eyes on the field, and it is your main phase one or two, you may send Red eyes to the graveyard and special summon Darkness.

Now if Darkness gets sent to the graveyard, it is not able to be special summoned out, you must get it back to either the hand or deck, and then tribute another Red eyes on the field for it to hit the field again.

o i see that helps a lot does that apply for other cards that say you may only special summon this monster if u sacrifice so and so?
