Necro Gardna, Becoming One of the Greats.

Necro Gardna. First thing that comes to mind, Lightsworn. Lightsworn has been abusing this weak monster. Look at his stats actually:
Necro Gardna
ATK:600 DEF:1300

But the thing that has everybody teching one, to even two copies of him in their deck, is this amazing effect. This card is a scare for anyone trying to go for game. To make this card more playable, it is a Dark Warrior monster. Hello Reinforcement of the Army. O, and did i mention Allure of Darkness? You have so many ways to use this card, that it is dumb. But the man thing that i wanted to come across this article is, that you could make a deck based solely around him!
Today we will be looking at the deck Joe Spanier took to Shonen Jump Austin were he finished 7-2, coming in 19th place. Him, and two other friends were piloting the deck, but Joe arose them. Now lets take a look at their deck, which the call DEDspam:
Monsters: (20)
3X Necro Gardna
1X Mystic Tomato
3X Armageddon Knight
3X Caius the Shadow Monarch
1X Gorz the Emissary of Darkness
1X Plaguespreader Zombie
1X Dark Armed Dragon
2X Goblin Zombie
1X Blackwing-Gale the Whirlwind
1X Spirit Reaper
2X Mezuki
1X Morphing Jar
Monsters: The first thing that probably you have noticed, is that there is a Zombie Engine. Just like Destiny Hero Zombies, you only use a few amount of Zombies. Mezuki makes a huge presence in here because you have so many options with it. You can remove it to special summon Goblin Zombie, Spirit Reaper, and Plaguespreader. You can also use it as a way to have a tribute bait for Caius. But in here, it is a big issue, because that's when you start your multiple Synchro summons. If you start off your board with a single Goblin Zombie, and with a decent hand, and if you play it right, you could end up with 3-4 Synchro's! Besides the Zombie engine, you notice the Caius'. They are in here, because Spanier currently ownsa Dark End Dragon, which allows him to tune a Caius and Plaguespreader to summon this. But it also gives you so much presence. You can get rid of a Colossal Fighter, a Stardust Dragon, and Royal Oppression, then swing threw for game! Caius should be tech in almost anything witha Dark engine, because i think of it as a staple, its that good. Joe Spanier said on his Youtube video DEDspam( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pgtJoEiads) that one of his most favorite combos, is to sacrafice his Goblin Zombie to summon a Caius, giving him so much advantage on his opponent. Armageddon Knight is in here, because he is such a beast! You can throw a Necro Gardna, a Plaguespreader, or any other type of Dark Monster, but its mostly in here for the Necro Gardna. He is also search-able by Reinforcement ofthe Army, and is a Dark, so there is the Allure of Darkness . Mystic Tomato is a great floater in here, being able to search for the Gale, the Necro Gardna, the Goblin Zombie, and so much more. He is great, because you slowing begin to start beginning field presence. Gorz is Gorz, thats why is in here. Dark Armed Dragon, is so broken, that i believe i don;t have to explain myself about him. And that leaves us with Morphing Jar. He is amazing, only if you play him right. You have to remember that Morphing Jar could also become the game ender for you as well, because your opponent can demolish you if you don't play it well. Now we go onto the Spells.
Spells: (15)
1X Brain Control
1X Heavy Storm
2X Foolish Burial
2X Lightning Vortex
1X Instant Fusion
2X Allure of Darkness
3X Burial from a Different Dimension
1X Reinforcement of the Army
1X Mystical Space Typhoon
1X Book of Moon
Pretty basic spells, until you these. Burial from a Different Dimension. BROKEN! In here Lightsworn gets scared, because knowing that your opponent could possibly use Necro Gardna 12 times! Its also able to recycle the Mezuki's, the Plaguespreader, and the infamous Necro Gardna. Don't forget that you can do it for your opponent as well. Your opponent Sarco's a Judgment, well you have the right to not be scared of it anymore, just put it back in the grave. Allure ofDarkness is a staple in here, because you have basically the whole deck dark, besides being the Mezuki's, and the Morphing Jar. And you have Burial's to recycle everything, so you shouldn't be too scared to remove your Necro's or your Plague. Book of Moon is a good tech, because you can always book something that you can run over, or if you just want to book that pesky Dark Armed Dragon, or Judgment Dragon. Mystical Space Typhoon, Heavy Storm, and Brain Control are staples in any deck, so it's self explained. Reinforcement ofthe Army can search for your Necro Gardna's, and your Armageddon Knight's. It lets you thin your deck, and if you get your Arm' Knight, your thinning your deck more. Foolish Burial can make your opponent cry. You can send your Necro's, your Mezuki's, your Plaguespreader, which can allow you to go for game, if you get the Synchro's off. Foolish Burial might be a minus 1, but allows you to start plusing on your opponent. Instant Fusion is in here as another on of Joe's secret special tech's. You can bring out your Reaper on the Nightmare, and Synchro Summon, then remove your Mezuki, then attack directly and ditch a card from your opponents hand. Or you can summon a Musician King, and then Synchro summon for Arcanite Magician! That is amazing to get rid of cards, like Colossal Fighter, or Dark Armed Dragon. Lighting Vortex plays a pivotal role in here, because you can discard a Necro to destroy everything, then press for game. But you can discard Plaguespreader, and start your Synchro engine, and that wins you the game! And that leaves us with 5 traps.
Traps: (5)
1X Mirror Force
2X Bottomless Trap Hole
1X Torrential Tribute
1X Divine Wrath
Divine Wrath is another one of his tech's in here. This card stops everything. Honest, Blackrose, Judgment Dragon, and Dark Armed. You can also discard a Necro, or anything you don't need. Mirror Force and Torrential are staples in here. And that leaves us with Bottomless Trap Hole. This is pretty much becoming staples because you stop: Gladiator Beast, Lightsworn, Blackwings, and so much more. I recommend that every duelest should run these in their deck, or even in their side.
And last we reach the Extra Deck:
Extra Deck: (15)
1X Arcanite Magician
1X Musician King
1X Reaper on the Nightmare
1X Stardust Dragon
1X Revived King Ha Des
1X Doomkaiser Dragon
1X Colossal Fighter
1X Iron Chain Dragon
1X Magicial Android
1X Goyo Guardian
1X Blackrose Dragon
1X Thought Rule Archfiend
1X Red Dragon Archfiend
1X Blackwing-Armor Master
1X Dark End Dragon
Dark End Dragon is in here, because it get rids of Stardust, and Colossal. It can use it as many times as possibly per turn. Joe chose Iron Chain Dragon over Gaia, the Force of the Earth, because he said that he would rather mill Lightsworn, then have an attack of just 100 more.
Conclusion: Joe Spanier deserves a bunch of credit for making this deck, because this deck takes so much skill, and for him to get 19th place, is just amazing. I recommend that anyone who has the cards to makethe deck (still try it if you don't have Dark End Dragon) that they should give it a try, because you never know, you could get hooked on this fun deck!
