I was wondering what everyone else thought of tickets. A lot of people would love to get those legendary Pokemon but the tickets are nowhere near them. It's irritating to a lot of people. There's been a lot of people mentioning tickets lately so I want to hear everyone's opinion.

Yes, I find it somewhat annoying that people need to get these tickets from very specific events (and have an e-reader... right?) that they might actually not be anywhere near. Luckily for me, I live near PCNY where they like to randomly give these things out (I got aurora ticket there), and although it's clsoed right now, there's no tickets being currently given out anyway.
Sorries to all the people who have the inconvenience.

Well, I think tickets can be cool. for example, I recently got the EON Ticket, and even though it requires an e-reader, I would much rather a ticket be given out that way (becuase if, like me, you miss the event, you can always go on ebay or a trading site and get the ticket long after the event has ended) And there actualyl was onyl that one ticket given away by E-reader, no others (as far as I know) all the other tickets were given away via the wireless transfer, which is FAR more annoying becasue instead of just needing the card and an e-reader (which if you're in North America could easily get before, and even now there's still the odd store that either has the e-reader still for sale (because they couldnt' sell them before) or a few still selling the GBA e-reader bundle. But even that, it is still easier to get than these dumb wireless downloads which can ONLY be acquired for a short period of time and ONLY if you live in one of the four or five cities int he entire continent that has them. I prefer the e-reader cards, because you can basically get them at your convenience and use them whenever you want, not HAVE to get the game when it comes out, finish it as soon as you can in case they give the wireless downlaods out for a brief period of a couple of weeks in a city on the other side of the country.
So basically, I liked the tickets when they were e-reader cards (well, when IT was an e-reader card, becuase they only gave out one ticket through the e-reader) I strongly dislike the new download system. Hopefulyl they will either put an end to that, or offer another ticket through e-reader (which I doubt)
Basically, though, you're better off buying a gameshark, becuase unless you live near the pokemon Center (in New York) or live in Japan, or plan on visiting them, you're not very likely to ever get a ticket, so a gameshark is cheaper than an E-reader AND cheaper than a plane ticket. Sure it's cheating, but if all you're doing is cheating to get the tickets (which there are cheats that allow you to get the key item as well as activate the event to use them) what's the harm? It's not like Nintendo is exactly making it easy for people to get the items.
(again, talking about the wireless downloads. I really liked the e-reader cards because not only could you get them after the event was held, but if you had a Nintendo Power Subscription, EVERYONE who had the subscription got an e-card witht he ticket, so it was MUCH easier (if you knew about it!) to get the ticket from a magazine than it is to travel to a city to get the ticket downloaded to your game.
However, in a way, it does actually make you more part of a game, because in my case I had to go on a search for the item, found someone who had it, then went on another quest to find the item they wanted and then give them that item for what I wanted. It was very much like a game! And there's also the aspect of having to travel to a far off city to get an item so you can trvel in the game to another location. It is kinda neat, but certainly not neat enough to outweight he gross inconvenience and downright impossibility of getting the more recnt ticket(s)!
so Short Answer: "I like the tickets" with an "if"
long answer: "I don't like the tickets" with an "unless"
:D

I've debated the idea of unobtainable Pokemon verses obtainable Legendaries. While unobtainable Pokemon are very valuable to the people who have 'em, I think completing tasks in order to unlock those Pokemon yourself (ie. Ho-oh) is much more rewarding and gamer-friendly. Maybe everyone will be able to have them then and their rarity will decrease, but at least everyone who has them will have to have worked for 'em. The fact that we don't get something rare for completing the PokeDex has always seemed strange IMO... If you don't get anything for it, why should we do it? (Nice that Emerald decided to change that trend a bit, although I don't really consider the Johto starters as rewarding as, say, Mew).
Anyways, considering all of that, I don't like the tickets or any other way we currently obtain the rarest Legendaries. Everyone should get the chance to be able to complete their collections, not just people who live in the right locations or get lucky on ebay.

Well, I live in Michigan and nothing pokemon based ever come here... or if they do come there being very quiet and sneaky about being here. I think the last time anything from pokemon was here was about the time they relesed Pokemon Stadium (first one) I got two Mews that day for my Blue version.
I live in a remote part of the UK in the South East, Tickets never come anywhere near me, when they had the "1 day only EON ticket in the UK" the nearest one was in central london, the only way I would have been able to do it was to locat the Gamestation in central london, on a saturday afternoon which would be completely impossible, I was very annoyed the nintendo section of gamestars live didn't have eon tickets available, hopefully at some point they will put onto the wirless DS things in stores a way to download them wirelessly onto a gamepack even though thats practically impossible for even them to be able to do, oh well, guess im gonna have to use eBay if i ever want use of an Eon ticket and an E-reader (which also never came out over here)
