Number of Hulk Flash Decks in Top 8 of GP Columbus

Take a stab at the number of Hulk Flash decks you think will make the top eight of Grand Prix Columbus. Say something smart here and you may make this week's MM as well.

im guessing 3 hulk flash, 3 thresh, 1 hanni fish and 1 goblins with maindeck leylines

I'm guessing 1 Mono-Black Control, 3 Hulk Flash, 1 Goblins, 1 U/G Threshold, and 1 of the many combo decks.

I also expect that any deck that can will run at least 2 main deck Leyline of the Voids. And any that don't are running 4 Force of Wills. The deck is good, but it's not that good. It's a very conditional win at first, and very a deck with 4 FoWs, they are screwed if it happens right. And the Leylines screw the deck completely!!!!! If a deck can hate it the most it's going to be Mono Black Control with main deck leylines, sink holes, utterly gay cards. It's going to be fun and it's a deck I am running myself at the GP. I can post a list if ya'll want me to.

the problem with MBC is that it has the tendency to lose to jank, i smashed it with affinity a couple of weeks ago when i played it and that was long before flash started weakening the deck. i suggest running 4 leylines because they are good against decks like 43 lands, thresh, enchantress, and IGGy pop, decks that may show up at the GP.

Affinity is a good problen for Mono Black Comtrol to deal with.....but you know that's why I run Null Rods. No more Jank!

i think iggy pop will make a strong appearance becaus of the maindeck laylines that it already plays

I see Hulk Flash being to this Pro Tour event what White Weenie was to Yokohama. All this hype is sure to go the pure rookie deck's head and its gonna cost the poor guy dearly. The pros Fish, Threshold etc are just going to hate the poor fella out, gang up on him and bully him into submission just like the Red decks etc of Yokohama did to the poor White Weenie deck. I think 1 Hulk Flash might get lucky and sneak into the top 8.

Other than that, I also predict we are going to see at least 1 new (unknown) archtype finish in the top 8, with my gut telling me it'll be 2, well at least 2 maybe even 3 new decks in the top 16 if not the top 8, excl Hulk Flash by the way. Its been a while since the last legacy protour/grandprix event, the players have had time to digest the card pool, and plus we've had Timespiral and Planar Chaos join in and I'm sure we're in for some surprises.

I am very conservative about my expectations of new archetypes, mostly because there are already archetypes that have not yet placed in a GP Top8 but are well known to the Legacy community.

As for Flash, I think it will have no trouble putting at least 3 players into the Top 8, even if that is based on popularity alone. The rest I reckon will be hate decks (Threshold/Fish) and Solidarity/Iggy combo..

The way I see it, Hulk Flash has popularity in it's quick-win ability. Basically like dragonstorm in standard but even easier to pull off, making me think that to keep up with the flow many players are going to play this. My estimate is at least 4 of these decks are going to make it.

Oh and definitely 1 or 2 surprise decks. Perhaps decks as crazy as flash hulk.
