Hi i brought a gba link cable but i cant trade pokemon it say your freind is not ready or making preaprations

Could you please describe the steps that you took when setting up the link trade? It's very difficult to tell you what to do if we don't have all the information. Thanks!

1.We both ask at the same time
2.On one of them it lets you save but on the other it just says please wait
3.After its saved the other one goes your friend is not ready
4.Then it closes down because of inactivty

I dont think it makes a difference but im useing a 4 player cable

It could possibly be becasue you are using a Gameboy Link Cable. If you are using a GB Link Cable, you will need this Little white Extension Piece, that hooks up to the end of 1 of the link, then you will be able to trade. If not, then go out and by a GBA Link Cable, that does no trequire a link extension.

Yeah. Chances are, that you will need a White Extension Piece, that connects to 1 of the ends of the link. That will allow for you and your friend to connect properly. This is a GBA Link Cable. Notice, unlike yours, the Ends of the link are different:

There is a small difference in the two... you can only use the old style to link old games to an older system from advance, its confusing I know... good way to get more money too.

Ask at your local Gamestop or EB Games. They probably have something that you can use...

Or it could just be that your friend has not progressed far enough in the game... What versions are you using, what pokemon are you trading to each other, how far are you and your friend in the game itself?

That is used to connect your GBA, to the Gamecube. This is mostly used for :
