i wanted to build an ophidian deck and at first i though i would play a u/r version like everyone else. but then i realised that white might add the versatility needed to send this deck to the top. i have not deccided on a solid deck list yet and even the cards i have chosen can be replaced. this is what i have so far
4 brainstorm
4 counterspell
4 FoW
4 ophidian
2 exalted angel
1 morphling
3 enlightened tutor
1 back to basics
2 seal of cleansing
1 moat
4 swords to plowshares
*7 slots open*
4 flooded strands
4 tundra
6 island
1 plains
8 lands *not sure on these yet*
cards to consider
-mana leak
-impulse
-decree of justice
-stifle
-fact or fiction
-chalice of the void
-powder keg
-engeneered explosives
-standstill
-orim's chant
-isochron scepter
-cunning wish
-duress *and underground seas*
-fire/ice *and volcanic islands*
-crucible of worlds
-wasteland
can you think of anything else? and what do you think of the deck? comments plz.

Swords and Moat are great, but Swords and Shackles is better. If you keep the plains count low, Shackles still retains its power. Forget Ophidian. It just isn't as powerful as it was before, far to prone to removal. Fact or Fiction is a solid option. If I were going to play this deck, I would just play WUBS.
4 Force of Will
4 Counterspell
3 Stifle
4 Swords to Plowshare
3 Powder Keg
3 Vedalken Shackles
4 Brianstorm
4 Fact or Fiction
4 Impulse
3 Win Condition
4 Tundra
4 Flooded Strand
12 Island
4 Plains
I summoned that out of nowhere so I don't know how solid it is. I just don't think that relying on a reactive Enlightened Tutor build is a good idea. In this you have your creature control, you counters and win. It's pretty simple. I'd play something a little different, but this seems like the route that you're going. Running maindeck answers is nice, but if you were to play Cunning Wish, you'd have a some better options running a Wish board.

for some odd reason this looks like a watered down version of scepterchant.I would suggest sideoboarding moat because its a situational card.
I would suggest adding accumulated knowledge, mana drain and cunning wish

Mana Drain has bad synergy with the format since it's banned. I was just giving a list to help this fella since his decklist seems all over the place. WUBS is a good deck, it just needs fine tuning and proper piloting for your metagame.

I really think a UR build of an Ophidian deck would perform better in all respects. with cards like Lightning Bolt and Pyroclasm you can keep threats off the board so that your Ophidian will remain unblocked.
Fire Imp and Flametounge Kavu also have awesome synergy with Ophidian.

i agree. pyroclasm would shut down white weenie variants and goblins. i wounder if it would be possible to run a U/R/W version. sumthing like this
x4 ophidian
x1 morphling
x2 flametounge kavu
x4 FoW
x4 counterspell
x4 mana leak
x4 brainstorm
x2 fact or fiction
x2 fire/ice
x2 pyroclasm
x3 StP
x2 disenchant
x3 mox diamond
x4 flooded strand
x4 volcanic island
x4 tundra
x9 island
x3 wasteland
i thought about adding chalice but with all the removal i dont think its needed MD it could be put SB for against combo.
what do u think?

The deck looks solid, but is splashing white really necessary?? I think a UR build would be more consistant, you can even run more basics with B2B and Echoing Truth.

I think it is pretty logical to think that White is a superior splash color, since U/R Fish is now U/G/w or U/W. Lightning Bolts and Pyroclasms don't kill the tougher threats, and you have Vedalken Shackles for the little guys anyway.

What tougher threats are you speaking of? Most tier 1 decks comprise of 2-3 toughness creatures. Besides Morphling, Exalted Angel and Darksteel Colossus the majority of tier 1 decks are weenies. Plus you have counters, B2B and bounce spells for their fatties anyways.

I'm gonna agree with Son here, the red splash just makes a lot more sense in the long run... white gives you access to Disenchant effects, Swords, and that's about it. Red just seems better.
Also: Doesn't Cunning Wish seem like something you guys should be looking at?
Suffocation, here's what I would do with your list:
-3 Swords
-2 Disenchant
-1 Mana Leak
-4 Tundra
-4 Flooded Strand
-3 Mox Diamond
+2 Forbid
+3 Cunning Wish
+4 Impulse
+3 Mountain
+5 Island
I really wish there was room for Bolts in the main too... maybe the Pyroclasms should just come out of the board, since against some decks (Landstill, High Tide) they're just dead. Anyways, here's the board I would play with this:
1x Capsize
1x Fire/Ice
1x Fact or Fiction
1x Misdirection
1x Teferi's Response
1x Forbid
1x Starstorm
1x Hibernation
1x Rack and Ruin
3x Back to Basics
3x Chill
I don't know, this is off the top of my head, I'm sure you guys can think of something better than Hibernation and probably even the Forbid, but I dunno.
The Impulses add a TON of consistency to the deck as well... and Forbid just seems obvious in a deck with Phids in it.
