Again, since I can't write, I'll post this.

I thought up an idea for a YGO RPG a while back, and I've never gotten around to posting it. So, here's the system...

Basically, it's a standard RPG, with humans and monsters coexisting in a single world. Each player gets a "Partner Monster", which has stats that reflect those of the real cards. Generally, 100ATK=5 attack stat, and likewise with defence, however these may differ slightly depending on the monster. They also have special effects based on their normal ones. Other stats also exist, namely HP, MP and Speed, and these are generally decided by Type.

Your Partner monster is by no means fixed. You may summon and dismiss monsters at will, but you must obtain their cards first. You may only have 1 Partner Monster at a time.

Your character also gets stats - Intellect and Luck. Intellect decides how long it takes to dismiss/summon monsters in battle, and Luck decides many things.

Battle between monsters is basically that of regular RPGs - monsters attack and defend, and use abilities gained from spending Skill Points (See below). Items can also be found and used. There are two ways to battle, decided by the two players (or, if a player is battling a monster, chosen by the player)

EDIT: The turn-based battle system has been decided to be the main form of battle. RP is for special situations only, and tile-based will probably be scrapped altogether.

1. Regular battle. This is a turn-based battle system where monsters take turns according to speed.

2. RP battle. Basically, both players (or player and monster controlled by NPC) battle it out through role-playing. Like other RPs, please don't god-mod (ie. make yourself invincible). Try to keep it within your monster's limitations.

3. Tactical battle. There's much to explain about this, but it's basically a tile-based battle system which is hard to explain: I will do so if there's a big enough show of interest.

Levelling up. Characters can level up through gaining a specific amount of EXP. When a character levels up, that character is given Stat points to distribute through their stats, or convert into Skill Points for their monster to use. This process is not reversible.

As for monsters, they level up a different way. While they still gain EXP, they are given Skill points rather than Stat points. These points are generally more flexible, able to be spent on raising a monster's stats or giving the monster new abilities.

The World contains different travel destinations, mostly taken from the anime. The travel is not instant, however, as monsters may attack you on your way. This is decided by an RNG, based on a character's Luck stat and the level of the area you're trying to enter. I will post the World Map if there is a big enough show of interest.

You can name your character whateer you want, and a bio is optional, as is any other information.

At the moment, I'm only looking for a show of interest, to decide if I should go further into this. This needs people to keep it going, so please, tell me if you think this should grow into a full-fledged RPG. While information is awfully general at the moment, I'll delve into more detail once enough people show interest.

Wow, is he the only one interested? As I said, it is quite old, and I plan to revamp the rules quite a lot. Is anyone else interested...?
