Format defining. A playset in nearly every BR deck. The star of Rakdos, she's several times better than Pyre Zombie, which was itself pretty darn good. She makes BR creatures that much better; right now, a vanilla BR bear would be playable, much less the guildmage. Interestingly enough, she combos with Avatar of Discord, since you can sac him in response to his trigger.

Even with pithing needle, I'm not sure there's a good way to contain the card.

This card was previewed weeks ago on starcity, but you're right, f*cking excellent card. Hellbent decks really miss out on this one, and I'm getting 4 as soon as possible. Makes Gobhobbler Rats very playable in BR, as it's a bears that might be able to get its ability online, and even if it doesn't, you can sac it to Lyzolda for 2 damage and a card.

this card will be a house in BRx aggro for the next year and a half or so, combine it with some discard effects and you will win a lot of games

targeting issue:

targets are normaly chosen before costs are payed, but this cant target until costs are payed...

will this lead to another copy enchantment style targeting the untargetable card, will it go straight to errata or will it just prevent fizziling by checking targets only once...

any ideas?

I don't believe this is modal. This means you must target something even if you only plan on drawing cards. This also means that if they can remove the target the spell fizzles even if you only drawing cards. My interpretation anyways.

Turn 2 Bob, Turn 3 Witch is dumb good, but makes Electrolyze look even better. That would be quite devastating, actually, with the Izzet mage going first. Untapping into turn 4 with an empty board makes blue decks happy.

Something else everyone has overlooked about the bloodwitch is that she is legendary. Which kinda makes her worse than i first expected. I will try out three, but i think there is better 3 drops than her. Maybe even the enchantment that opponent discards a card for 3 or more damage caused by one source. it could be good. especially with the normal compliment of burn.
