Ok, I have an idea. I would like to create a Yugioh TCGPlayer Hall of Fame. People that have left this site or quit the game, but were good members of these forums should be remembered. People could suggest past members that should be included in the hall of fame, and the mods could decide if that person is worthy of inclusion. The hall of fame itself would be a sticky that is closed. I think this is a really good idea, and I think it would help bring these forums more unity and credibility. The list of names in the hall of fame could even have a paragraph next to them to describe what they were like, their achievements, their contributions to the forums and the teams that they were in.
For example, I would nominate oblivion98 and Marik The Dark as hall of famers. Of course there's many more. Does anyone else think this is a good idea?

Let's not forget Un!matrix. *sniff* as all of us remember...He was banned back in November. Probably because his name was one letter away from copying a certain known moderator. He only posted 1 comment, but that one comment will live in our hearts forever... We will remember you, Un!matrix...

He was banned because he was a very bad member of this community that we banned before, but kept on coming back to piss of unimatrix! He really was obsessed with him....

Anyway, I think its a cool idea, but I don't know if it could happen or not.

Nah, I believe anyone that was a good memeber of these forums should be allowed in the hall of fame, regardless of why they stopped, being banned or just leaving...

it doesn't matter if has was good or not. he was probably flaming or had a bad attitude or something. idk who he was, but if a mod bans him, he diffently has a good reason.

Let me guess...strikeninja? If so, he was banned for continuous abusive behavior not only to members here at tcgplayer, but also the staff. If you don't like it, tough, get over it. It does seem, however, that you are following in his footsteps. keep it up, and you'll probably get banned in a week.

LOL! To tell you the truth, i ban people at least 3 times more then unimatrix does, and for a much longer time too. I haven't seen anyone say that about uni in a very long time...lol.

Thats because Uni is much more respected no offense but more feared by respect i think. I see people dissresect Redeyes more than any other mod, uni second from what ive seen, and thats probably why. Also because redeyes mods the random section of this site. And me and him spot more advertisement than i thought we would i just can ban.

The people that hold grudges against me don't really know me. I work for this site. What i do is for this site.I make suer that i am at the very least, on here 2 times a day. I go through loads of threads, don't even post in most, and keep the bad people from pissing everyone off.

I respect you very much. We've had our disagreements (as i've had with other mods), but you know I don't mean anything by it. If you ever have trouble finding someone to ban, or you get bored, just PM me and i'll give you a list of names....:D

The hall of fame is still no closer to being established.....

I (however nominates their have been for Oblivion98) nominate him again. He was one of my good friends way back in July and August, especially with helping me make/edit my fiend guide. Its a shame to see him not posting here anymore.

My Team Leader is a great duelist, he was banned because he defended his honor and his deck from some low life, I would really appritiate it if you didnt mock him and me...

your team leader is strikeninja because i know him from duel academy if were speaking of the same person, ive dueled him and personaly i dont care about language but his personality is care free and i could see how it would lead to him getting banned.

Edit: I read some of his posts and he deserved it but his ban gets lifted in a couple days if im not mistaken because Draco said just take a week off.

Why don't we stop arguing and spamming about this and get back on topic. If your friend is banned, he is banned, and there is nothing that you can do about it. If you feel that he shouldnt have been banned, then take that outside of this thread through PM instead.

Back on topic, did anybody read my last post on the bottom of page three?

This thread is not to discuss members who got banned that nobody knows of, or remembered. It is to discuss members who acutally contributed to the site, and stopped playing Yugioh or left the site, such as Marik the Dark or Oblivion98. I doubt anybody knows of or remembered those people you mentioned above.

I fell sorry for Unimatrix, he had a groupie, lol.

I remember Oblivion89 and Marik the Dark.

But where is blimed? He gets banned then comes back to post several times then dissapeared. I guess he joined another site when he got banned and got many friends.

Yeah I 2nd that. How could I forget about him? He is the one who came up with great ways to pull rare cards out of packs.

1. Thanks for finally considering it. It has got support from the members, so I was hoping it would eventually happen.
2. "It will require the moderators to place the names....etc etc" There's only 4 members nominated so far. So this isn't an issue.
3. "Its a good thing unlike this" "Nobody cares!" ....Ok that was uncalled for. You're a Mod and I don't expect this from you. It's obvious you don't like the hall of fame idea, but i hope you will still give it consideration when the Mods vote on it. Wouldn't you like to be on the hall of fame some day?
4. I fail to see how spam relates to the hall of fame
5. People DO care. Everyone who has posted on here and the other hall of fame thread under Random Yugioh cares. They nominated ppl because they care.

It will likely turn into a Flame War when people disagree with nominations, and by the time they ARE nominated, how many people will remember "why" (sounds like a Prom King and Queen type thing here...)? One person may be "helpful", but obnoxious. Another individual may have all the answers, but only half of them were right.

The criteria to nominate is based upon, what? There will always "only be" certain individuals that are "prominent" on a Forum, usually because they post in a thousand different threads, and their name is always seen. Content wise, they arent saying much the majority of the time, but they are seen as highly contributing members, especially when they collect 1000 or more post counts.

I have seen some members compile over 100 post just in my short time here by repeating information over and over, which doesnt say much for the value of their 600+ post (if you cared to break down each and every post, Im sure 500 of them are Spam related).

So, I hope that there is a realistic value to having a "Hall of Fame", other than the Nominee's were "really liked a lot".

Well obviously it helps if the person was "really liked a lot." But these ppl were liked a lot for a reason. They were helpful, knowledgable, friendly etc. But not just anyone gets on the Hall of Fame. There IS criteria. You can't have been banned for a start. The Mods will also have to agree on the nominees. And as for the Flaming issue you brought up, I don't see this as a problem at all. So far, on both Hall of Fame threads, there has been little flaming. And if the Hall of Fame itself is a closed thread, then how can anyone flame on it?
Btw, I see you only have 67 posts. Maybe thats why you seem to have a problem with 1000 post members. And don't expect me to believe that all 67 of your posts were helpful!

Spam, or helpful? That is what Dekzter does, and he has done it on more than one occasion.

Not once have I seen him post anything in Rulings that was the very FIRST answer, but he certainly has the right one after a few dozen have chimed in.

And, you have just helped me make my point. If you think members like Dekzter are helpful, how valid will your Hall of Fame be?

Being helpful should be on your own ideals and strengths, not just repeating someone elses information without adding anything else to it.

Anyone can be a "Parrot", but does a Parrot actually understand what is being repeating...

I agree with you here. If you are going to be posting the same thing somebody else previously posted, at least back it up with different examples that the previous person did not mention.

That's not true Uni. Its not based on popularity. That does help. But at the end of the day, YOU the mods get the final say on who is accepted on the Hall of Fame, and if you don't agree that a member deserves to be on there, regardless of that member's popularity, you can reject that member. So far, I don't think any of the nominees are based on popularity. So give this idea a go Uni.

If a member only shows up once in a Blue Moon, and registers a post once every 4 months, I dont think they have been very "visible", and that would be more consistent with someone who isnt Hall of Fame material.

Post Count shouldnt matter in the sense that a person stays up all night and makes a thousand post, but contributes nothing with them.

At the same time, a member who has less than 1000 or even 500 post obviously can't show that the have been much of a visible contributor, especially if they decide to leave after being a member for a relatively short period of time, so anything they did for the good of the site would either be a series of exceptional contributions, or they would just be someone who "helped out" a couple of times, and that doesnt warrant anything more than a "Thanks for being a member".

It comes down to it is either a good idea, or it isnt, but I myself don't see comparing this with the new Q&A, and as for "Side Tracking", the truth is never a Side Track to a relevant issue. It was merely a Side Track to point out that you, as Site Moderators, have allowed a certain individual to be a nuisance, who isnt helpful, and that example behavior should be considered if this "Hall of Fame" is established.

I was just pointing out that some people will try to take advantage of it if it becomes a rule. Some people like to inflate their Post Count for some unknown reason....

The mods in the end will decide neo_vorse. You can count on my vote being nonbiased to a certain extent, and I say this for a reason.If its someone that actually deserves it, and actually contributes to the site, then ill vote yes for it. If its someone that got banned before, and was flamming and insulting members, i will obviously say no.

Why would he? He was right, you did vote against it. So did the last mod, and another mod. The thing has been voted upon, and sadly, 3 mods think that its a bad idea. Sorry guys, I tried, but, like said in the begining, I doubted that it would happen, and I guess I was right.

Oh, and yea, I got the apology. Its alright, all is forgiven. You are cool in my eyes :) .

No matter what you say or do we are all good members of this site.

I just felt it is not good to praise individuals who are just following the ruls and helping out the forums and the site!

That is my stance on this issue.

It is a great idea but it favors members and we dont want that as we treat every member with resect no matter how they act or how they post.

DEFEATED 3-2.

who knows maybe we just might get it done! some time in the future!
