As I'm sure many know, the Block PT this year was replaced by a Teams block event in Charleston. In the past, Block events have been some of the most anticipated events of the year, so why the change?
Would you have liked to see more individual RBC events, and what do you think of this change?

Is it confirmed that there will be no Block PTQs though? With Team Standard following the Standard PT, it seems like Block might follow Team Block, feeding into an Extended PT as usual.

the next format after Team is Limited again. There won't be block constructed for a while.
I'm actually pretty happy about that. I'm not sure how much innovation there could be in Ravnica Block Constructed.

Doesn't mean to me that Team play is fun.
Actually, I prefer individual play in any format; becuase you can drive the whole games aspect.

I love reading about constructed, even as a limited player. And I don't ever like reading about limited victories. I would much rather see the pro tour always focus on constructed just because it lends itself to better coverage of the events. I also think its a huge disservice to a very strong Rav block not to have a go at a block constructed tournament. I predict decks would be much more than pimped guild decks. All and all I am surprised, even outraged.
I think that while the limited and team events are fun to attend they are less enjoyable for the non-pros to read about.
Why not just do more than one type of event at a tournament?

Team play is probably the most fun format, but I am little surprised at the shying away from RBC events - usually these can be seen as the "next Standard" and usually give insight into the next format.
Not to mention watching RBC online is actually pretty funny (the archetypes are bizarre - maybe one of these weeks I'll have to do a two-fer week and do Standard on one day and then Block another).

...If you want to play Ravnica Block Constructed play MTGO. There are Block premier events regularly.

Well I know you can play block on MTGO, but if I want to watch pro's construct decks and play then I need an event. Block constructed is a valuable tool to Friday Magic. It gives them good ideas and shows us what we should be playing and what types of decks we should be playing.
