Is there anyone that has a preference for a TCG? Like me, I play both VS and Yugioh, I do have my bias. Anyone out there that prefers Magic to VS or Yugioh?

I prefer MTG. Games like YuGiOh seem a bit to simplistic and don't seem to offer the chance for decision making based on as many variables.
As for VS, some friends tried to get me to play on a few occasions. I found it too oriented on the combat phase, with too much of the mechancis based on silly things like the configuration creatures are laid out in on the board. This seems very cumbersone to me. In addition I prefer the design of MTG that includes seperate resources for mana rather than just laying cards out face down. Many people claim the design of MTG is inherently flawed this way because it can lead to poor resource distribution where you sometimes cannot play your cards. I like this element because it requires more focus on proper resource management during deck design.

the thing that makes me biased towards VS is the play structure. Compared to yugioh, the action is slow, but each card is necessary. Unlike MTG or Yugioh, you can't throw in anything miscellaneous; that is it is impossibl;e to win without a strategy. In Yugioh, i've come across ddecks that have no theme whatsoever, but they win lots and lots of games.

The VS mechancis and play structure seems entirely too cumbersome to me. Simple and elegant design is where you have to start to make a successful game.

Put it this way MTG is far more difficult to play but i play yugioh mostly so i voted for that. I think of it this way MTG has years on the other TCG's so its far up there obviously i mean i dont even think yugioh has a fourth of the amount of cards as MTG does. I think they are both two different games IMO they are not to much like each other besides you draw and you pay stuff alot of the time to summon. Also because of that simplicity snake was talking about, they have Upper Deck which puts bans on cards that people would run and would ruin any challenge in the game.
Now for Vs. Simply ive never played it so i cant make much of an opinion. From what ive heard its not that hard to play in comparison to yugioh and Magic, especially magic.

The thing about VS is that it has brought a whole new sense of realism to the TCG world. It plays a lot like Magic: 1 resource per turn (1 land per turn), then recruit (summon), then combat, then end of turn. VS adds to that concept the lack of color necessities (if you don't have 2 swamp or can't produce 2 black mana, you can't play Chainer), and a front and support row, which makes combat more realistic (In MTG, creatures are just everywhere and they're arrangement on the field makes no difference). Along with that though comes what is known as the Concealed Area. Think of it like Shadow, only they can easily gain or loose it, and every deck can easily be ready for it without a single alteration (all of the larger teams, excluding 2 man teams like Negative Zone and Skrull, have some kind of strategy both for and against it.) I play both games, and love them both dearly, but VS is just so much better... then again, it could be that Comic_Book_Guy (hint hint) is biased when it comes to games with Comic characters.

What about Pokemon damn it? I don't actually play the pokemon TCG and I probably never will but I'd still like the option, jebus.

Sorry, biut that was my intent. As Pokemon has been out for so long, I thougt to only include those TCG's that hsave been releasied fairyl recently, with the inclusion oof Magic because of the nature of this specific forum.

What do you mean "the nature of this specific forum"? This is the misc. topics which means it has nothing to do with any TCG. If you are talking about all of the forums collectively then I think you'll find that there is infact a Pokemon forum and within that forum are several sub-forums all dedicated to the Pokemon TCG.

um hes right, does everyone look at magic and think its pretty much the site cause i look at yugioh and see just as much action there as anywhere else now things like that hetacomb and stuff all got colaborated into one area kind of just recently, because they are so small in popularity.

the magic section is by far the most active i believe, and has the highest population and i also believe it has been around the longest.
I for one prefer yugioh over all the rest because i haven't played any other card game!
YUGIOH ftw!
