What do you think is the best of the SOI "God" cards.

Raviel, Lord of Phantasms i think is the best overall.

tdswar

i think hamon is the best just because it is the easiest to summon, just wait until you have 3 continuous spells and hamon in your hand, play the three spells, then destroy them to bring out hamon... easy... plus when it is in defense position you are good to go, it pretty much has a built in ring of magnatizm

Yeah probally is easy to summon when you think about it but raviel is not too hard and i think will make fiends highly played.

tdswar
03-01-2006, 06:05 PM
it will make fiends get more play, at least until the next banned list... i'm sure all 3 of these "gods" will be banned... but you never know...

Actually they are not god cards!

They are legendary demons!

God cards are broken thats why they are gods thes things are just bad monsters with some ire effects this calamity of precious wanabe gods are futile!

it is just a marketing sheme to make money off of a bad set!

I know thats why i put the quotations around them, commonly the quotations can be uses as sarcasm or the fact that alot of people just call them that for short.

Uria is the best:

1. Sangen and UFO Turtle Searchable (unlikie others)

2. destroys spell or trap once per turn and cannot be chained (hint:use anti Spell Fregrance 2 set spells face-down B4 activation)

3. most conti nuous traps R not ban (except call and G bind) and here is a list of good Continuous traps 2 use:

1. call
2. mask of restrict
3. ordeal of a traveler
4. G Bind
5 EMBODIMENT OF APOPHIS (important)
6. Nightmare Wheel
7. Fairy Box
8. Ultimate Offering
9. ANTI SPELL FREGRANCE (important)
10. Dust Tornado (not continuous but helps tons, great synergy)
11. few others i ferget what i will post later

O yah wall of revealing light

and there R support cards for Uria:

a cat of ill omen
Mask Of Darkness
Elemental Hero Wildheart (slips under G Bind and others)
Green Kappa (is Great)
Emergency Provisions
so and and so forth......

Raviel is a boost but at best he is in a dark world deck, he is not searchable, and U can only summon 1 monster per turn so it may be hard outside dark world. Hamon has a burn deck but is hard 2 pull of , the best is different dimension capsule and gate, non-spellcasting area, ectoplamer, Messenger and Level Limit, Dark SNake Syndrome so yah Uria is the best hope it all helps i will start a post ragarding the beasts and there bads and goods.....Uria is the beast btw

I think we get it. I like........ I can't decide. It's too hard for me. It's between Uria, and Raviel. I hate using Cont. Magic cause someone always destroys it!!!! I guess I like Raviel the best for his tokens.

my reviews from card of the day (hamon hasnt been reviewed yet):

Raviel

"Raviel is the reincarnation of obelisk the tormentor and looks much more badass than obelisk ever was. a 4000 4000 monster same as Hamon with the effect to special summon a fiend token whenever your oponent special summons a monster. now you can use these tokens to tribute for another monster or do as they are intended and give ravel an extra 1000 attack. even better tribute the token for a strong monster then sacrifice the stronger monster to give raviel a OTK boost. The only downfall to this card is the fact that he requires 3 fiends on the field to tribute, not a problem in:

archfiend
darkworld
RFTDD fiend deck

however the sacrificing of 3 monsters isnt worth it if your oponent has a BTH waiting making all your hard work a waste of time.

Traditional: 1 out of 5 the amount of removal in the game will finish him as soon as he is summoned
Advanced: 2.5 out of 5 there is still a large amount of monster destruction in the format but at least Raviel has a chance.
Overall: 1.75 out of 5

summary: Raviel has an awesome attack and an awesome effect however in today's format he is simply not worth the cost. it would be better to use the fiends you have on the field originally plus the chance of getting many tokens is slim"

Uria

"todays card is the second of the three legendary lords Uria. Uria (a perfect copy of slifer), is the hardest of the three to summon with hamon being the easiest followed by raviel because of the requirement of 3 continuous trap cards on the field. Urias effect is exactly the same as slifer strangely enough with his attack increasing by 1000 for every card in your hand. Because Uria is the hardest of the three to summon, he is given the best effect which is to once per turn destroy a spell or trap card on the field and the card destroyed cannot be activated as a counter. To make things even better, he is easily protected by smashing ground with his a defence a big fat 0.

Final thoughts: Uria is the hardest to summon but if he is summoned, he is well worth the effect. He will most likely keep the field under control for a few turns before being destroyed by another card.

traditional: 1 out of 5
advanced: 3 out of 5
overall: 2 out of 5

art: 4 out of 5, one of the best looking."

um, you have a slightly wrong idea what the effect for Uria truely is: it is 1000 per continous trap card in the graveyard (auto 3000 attack due to the summoning cost) and when it uses the destroy a spell/trap card effect, NO spells or traps can be use in responce to that effect.
So even if your opponent has 3 spell/traps set, you target one for destruction, they can not activate any of them in responce. Even when he is Special summoned, if you use this Ignition effect they can not even use any of the traps that could respond to a summon.

P.S. Uria is the one I like the most. And If i get one or two, I will make a deck for him.

Uria is the best:

1. Sangen and UFO Turtle Searchable (unlikie others)

you cant search him with UFO Turtle, he can't be special summoned by any effect but his own.

Uria definetley has the best effect...
But Hamon is the easiest to summon...

Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by sending 3 face-up Trap Cards from your side of the field to the Graveyard. Increase the ATK of this card by 1000 points for each Continuous Trap Card in your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 Set Spell or Trap Card on your opponent''s side of the field. Spell and Trap Cards cannot be activated in response to this effect''s activation.

If you chained 3 trap cards, considering they are not continuos, could you then immediatley tribute them and summon him? Or for example, chained 2 traps and a cont. trap? It doesn't say "by sending three continuos trap cards to the graveyard,"

McMike2

hamon is the most competitive.

no, the special summoning effect has no spell speed so it does not happen on a chain. The traps you send to the graveyard must be countinous or some how stay on the field after it has been activated.

k, thanx...
im actually starting to like Hamon.
-easy to summon
-Pretty much a brick wall
-they lose 1000 when monster destroyed. I know it's not much, but it is something if your opponent is just laying down defense mode monsters over and over...and it probably ticks people off...(my kind of stlye)

War_of_Chaos
03-03-2006, 03:35 PM
he is the easiest to summon i guess and im starting to like him now that i own him, hehehehe. Now to create a deck with him.

CyberDragon317
03-03-2006, 03:48 PM
I think Hamon's the best, also in addition to what everyone has said you could make a pretty competitive Hamon/Chaos deck, with 1 hamon, 3 cyber dragons, and 2 chaos sorcerers

kuricannon
03-03-2006, 03:48 PM
aww...u own him? Its so hard getting him from sheer packs. My friends bought boxes and none of them got any of the demons, lol. They just kept getting Cyber Barriers and Cyber Lasers

but what is bad is I can definetely see these cards on future ban lists...im hoping that if they do put it on the Forbidden List, then they limit it to 2. Nothing less, please Konami. If u don't ban it, I will buy every single Metal Gear Game ever released...

CyberDragon317

Raviel's the best. And like you said War of Chaos, i think we will see fiends get alot more play. Hooray!

CyberDragon317
03-03-2006, 07:54 PM
No, raviel is unplayable. He takes three tributes, much more they all have to be fiend type, one of the tougher to find types, and finally fiends don't have any real support.

tdswar

if i get a hamon in my box of SOI i will definately put a deck together around him... so easy to summon and has a destructive effect....

CyberDragon317
03-03-2006, 08:17 PM
yeah, the order of the demons from best to worst is as follows:
1.Hamon
2.Uria
3.Raviel

kuricannon
03-04-2006, 10:14 AM
well, u could use raveil in a Dark World deck. With all the Fiends on the field, it is easier to summon him.
But now i think Hamon is the best, then Uria, then Raviel.

I beg to differ. Raviel works very well with RFTDD and Dark Necrofear. Anyway, here is my list showing the ranking of each of the 3 demons. In my opinon at least...

1. Raviel
2. Hamon
3. Uria

Not talking about U when i say this Pharoah horus!!

Peopel that R trying 2 pick which god is the best (coughcoughCyberdragon317coughcough) like this R making me mad, yes i did this but it was IMO, each god has a specific deck that works (i.e. raviel=dark world or necrofear rftdd, hamon=non effect continuous spell or burn, yes his effect works and U have poison of the old man, dark snake syndrome, etc, and uria with S/T destruction or pure continuous trap stall deck) each has a specific deck 2 work in if not splashed in 1 deck altogether, U all have Ur Opinions and IMO Uria is best beacause he is searchable and not many continuous traps R limited, ecxept call and G. bind, but each god also has it's weaknesses, so U cannot order them but it is all opinion nothing else!! this jus' kinda angered me.... raviel would be hardest IMO cause without dark world he is a horrible topdeck, and the necrofear/rftdd combo requires time and if not played right can cause disaster i mean, BTH and smashing or sak. armor and there U go bye bye (any of) the legendary beasts and IMO is a waste of time, hamon is actually the most playable but not the best, again this whole thread is opinion!! IMO this and IMO that lol sorry 4 the lon post had 2 prove a point =) hope people understand!!

Pharaoh Horus
03-04-2006, 08:45 PM
I don't believe it is so much about which demon is best, it is more like which one is the most playable or the common favorite. That is just my opinion though.

hmmmm i got a hamon out of my first Shadows of Infinity pack and think its really well suited for an "ironwall" defense deck. out of the three, i would play hamon over any of the others. and once the "ban commity" sees that people think that uria is "godly" they will almost certainly ban that. i predict that all three "gods" will be banned by the next ban list

i dont see the fuss over cyber dragon, shure its got a good effect, (if im remembering correctly, if your opponent has 1 more monster than you do, you can special summon this card to the field) im not too shure if it was 1 more, or if it was if you have no monsters, and you oppnent has any.
good effect, yeah, but not a great choice for more decks.

(and if u dont think that a card can be then u are quite mistaken. its the spirit of the monster thats in the card that can get mad.) cause i put more faith in to the demon gods than i have them. but untill they forgive me i'm going to work on a new deck. involving e-hero spark man, clay man, burtninatrix, and avian. and then the armed dragons. lvls 5-10. and oddly enof. it works.... well. but all i'm missing are the fusions. i need 2 flame wingman, and 2 thundergiant. 3 would be nice but still.

I think if you can build and good deck to woek with both of the demons then you got a pretty good deck and keep this in mind I build one and I use:1 Ruin,Queen Of Oblivion:1 Demise, King Of Armageddon and 2 End Of The World cards: And it has done pretty good but I found a way to make the hole deck work a heck alot better and the Dark World cards work good in this deck too.:D:t:

I'm not a Big Fan

But the best in my opinion is Uria

If you have enough Continues TrapCards in your graveyard. He can get like 5000 attack points with 5 in graveyard.. Imagin with 20. There's 20,000 attack points right there..
