View Full Version : Stunning the Attacker

Here is the idea I'm playing with, that might turn into a deck.
Use Cards like Nasty Suprise, Counterstrike, maybe Rallying Cry, Spoiler <> Robin, the Girl Wonder, Tim Drake <> Robin, Protege and if you wanna throw in some JLI, UN Reconition. (GK and JLI might have some Synergy with Dinah Laurel Lance <> Black Canary, Blonde Bombshell and Batman, Hidden Crusader Both having JLI/GK dual affliliation)
Anyway, someone tries to attack you, you simply pump your attack to stun them as well. Any ideas, thoughts on if this will work or not?

Could work...making it painful for opponents to attack you can make it hard for them to get an endurance advantage on you. Adding Heat Vision will add some nasty burn. If your defenders generally have a fair amount of Range, you could burn even more with some Focused Blasts (which should help you to keep your opponent's endurance total even with yours). The main trouble with a StunBack deck is that effects like Invulnerability, Bamf!, and Legendary Battles will hose it pretty badly.

4 Alfred Pennyworth, Faithful Friend
2 Commissooner Gordon, Lieutenant Gordon
4 Spoiler <> Robin, The Girl Wonder
2 Spoiler, Wildcard
4 Tim Drake <> Robin, Protege
2 The Creeper, Jack Ryder
4 Batman, Hidden Crusader
2 Batman, Vengeance
4 Dinah Laurel Lance <> Black Canary, Blonde Boobshell
2 Cassandra Cain <> Batgirl, Student of the Bat
4 **** Grayson <> Nightwing, Defender of Bludhaven
2 Azreal <> Batman, Knightfall
4 Utility Belt
2 Batcomputer
4 Bat-Signal
4 Counterstrike
4 Heat Vision
4 Nasty Surprise
2 UN Recognition
I'll prolly post this in Golden Age as well, to get advice, but this could potentially have a good defence via the multiple chances for me to create a "Stunback Situation." Might switch the 4 and 5 drops. Depends, not sure if Hidden Crusader, Blonde Bombshell, and Creeper will be enough to use UN Recognition or not. Utility Belt and Bat Computer are there for Flight and Range, and Alfred and Bat-Signal are kinda obvious. Lt. Gordon, well, not much of a choice for a back up 1 drop. BTW, All GK which means I could reinforce as well, if needed. I'm just tired of seeing "offence" based decks, so wanted to make one that was a little more defence based.

Thats actually a pretty nasty idea XD Just watch out for Fizzle and non-stun effects =/
Are you using the 5 drop Batman? Because all those Batmans confuse me @-@

I think this is what the Crime Lords team do best isn't it?

Brotherknights is right. Use the Batman and Batgirl from the starter deck. Thats free burn just because.

Check it again, Batman, Vengence and Batgirl, Student of the Bat, from the starters are already there guys. But yeah, I went ahead and made them my main drops, as well as some other changes, which I've not added yet. Maybe I'll do that, maybe I won't :P
Anyway, played against a Doom deck just for fun tonight against one of my friends. I coulda won on turn 6. I stunned all of his characters and had Batman, Vengence ready with him only having 5 endurance left. But since this was a friendly game, I decided to take it to turn 7 because it was my initive to start with. He pulled out the 7 drop Doom, and used Mystical Paralisis on my 7 drop Azreal. Couldn't get round his Dr. Doom, and he attacked with his powered up Darkhoth, and a flying kick into my Batgirl. Almost got my Atk up to stun him back, bringing us both down to -1. But yeah, it was a good game.

If you're going for a really disgusting defensive deck, try a CL variant. They've got a ton of stuff that goes for reinforcing your defenders, then stunning attackers. This deck traditionally has problems fighting off-curve decks. I'd recommend playing something like H'Ronmeer's Curse or Total Anarchy (the two combo rather nicely, "so, which two or less would your GLEE deck like to ko? And may I mention that it is beyond the point you can get it back with Dr. Light?") This helps with that matchup. Good Luck!

my most agressive decks have copies of heat vision and counterstrike in them.
Its always nice to be stunning characters weather you are attacking or defending. Problems I have matching up against are x-men and team attack avengers. Both can keep thier guys from being stunned very well.

How about working a few Null Time Zones in there so you don't have to worry so much about BAMF! and Legendary Battles
but that's just a thought with out a Kang character you only get one use out of them so you really have to know the right time to use one
