Kahiri grinned, her eyes sparkling happily, as she trudged down the dirt pathway. Beside her, trotting with ease at it's trainer's side, was a small dark Eevee. The day was all but perfect, with a bright sun, untouched by clouds, flirty Pidgey chasing each other in the nearby woods, and the overall good mood pitched by the knowledge that the trainer carried. If what she'd heard from the woman in Rustboro City was true, then she might soon be holding a Pokeball that contained a Bagon. After she'd seen one, in a recent battle with an overconfident boy (he wasn't too full of himself anymore), she had looked up where they were found, and set off on Route 115, headed determinedly towards Meteor Falls. As a Caterpie edged out of the nearby forest-area, Kahiri had to supress the urge to chuck a Pokeball at the small caterpillar.

"Lovely day, isn't it, Kuroi?" she remarked, shivering as a wave of warmth washed over her.

The small Pokemon nodded, beaming up at his optimistic trainer. He was just as eager as she was to get another member to their team, and had to supress the same urge when he saw the slow Caterpie inch by. Bounding up ahead a few yards of the girl, he jumped artfully into the air and spun around. When he landed, he was facing the oncoming trainer with his dark gray tail between his sharp jaws. Laughing, Kahiri darted at the fox, attempting to tackle him over. He sprang out of the way, and leaped onto her head as she fell in the middle of the dusty road. Rolling over, the teenager dislodged the active Pokemon, and they both took off down the pathway, racing at full speed.

Before long he duo began slowing, their breaths coming short and ragged and their sides heaving, to a walk. The athletic trainer panted as vibrantly as the Pokemon next to her, both trying to reclaim their lost oxygen.

"I-I...win!" declared the girl, gasping in mouthful after mouthful of the precious air.

In response, the Eevee stopped its panting, pulling his pink tongue back into his mouth. Growling playfully, it latched onto his trainer's shorts, and began tugging at them furociously. The unexpected attack sturprised Kahiri, who lost her balance at the sudden tug. Stumbling, she tripped over Kuroi and swung out her hand for anything...anything...to catch herself on. Then, most unexpectedly, her gloved fingers met with a rocky surface. Bewildered, she lifted her gaze to the wall she had met. It was a cave, a mountain in fact.

Staring incredulously at her companion, Kahiri gawked at it, then made her way along the monsterous, rocky wall, searching. Once she had discovered what she had been looking for, she called over the Eevee, who had sat down and began cleaning his fluffy gray ears calmly.

"Look! We're here! I can't believe it, but this is it!" she informed her silent Pokemon, pointing emphatically at a small rotting sign. Engraved into the decaying wood was,

<---Meteor Falls Rustboro City--->

Giving a loud, uncontained cheer, the tomboyish trainer pivoted, and lifted up her Pokemon. As the Eevee held on as firmly as possible, she danced around the ancient post, trampling the overgrown grass. She continued the ritual until she was out of breath. For the seond time in ten minutes, she found herself huffing. She fell down in the lush grass, yelping as the impact resonated throughout her body. Lying spreadeagled beside the majestic mountain, the two rested.

"I--" Kahiri yawned. "I wonder if I'll find anything magical in there. It is a mysterious place, ya' know?" She said, looking over curiously at her friend.
Kuroi shrugged, his snow-white mane bunching about his ash-colored shoulders. He licked his trainer lovingly, then stretched. Yawning as loudly, if not louder than, his trainer, the Eevee got to his paws, prancing around in random circles.

Smirking, Kahiri shrugged off her pack, and began rummaging in the smaller pocket. After a minute of pawing through the contents, she came up with two granola bars. Wrinkling her nose in dislike, the trainer opened one of the packages, revealing a granola bar with blueberries occasionally embedded in the oats. Setting that one on top of its wrapper, she pulled off the other one's paper, and bit into it with vigor, despite her reaction. her mouth crammed with bits of granola and blueberry, she mumbled,

" 'Ey, 'Uroi! Com' 'ver 'ere and 'et!"
even though the girl had been careful, pieces of granola flew through the air, scattering on the flattened grass.

"Ee!" acklowledged the Pokemon, trotting over to his meal daintily. Eying the blueberri bits, that stood out magnificently in the grass, he bit into his own snack, crunching appreciatively.

Before very long, the bars were but so many crumbs in the ground, which Kahiri suspected would be swiftly devoured by some bird-type Pokemon. Standing up, the duo exchanged ecstatic looks, then headed towards the mountainous cave's entrance. They blinked as the darkness devoured them, and they were left staring around as a soft, eerie glow illuminate the cave.

"Odd." murmured the girl, stepping cautiously into the pitch-black area.

It was a bad desicion. without warning she found herself teetoring over the ege of an abyss. She struggled to regain her footing, but her shoes found no purchase on the rocky cavern floor. She slipped, and began to fall into the unknown depths of the pit, but managed to clasp ahold of the hole's edge. Barely. Clinging like a burr by her fingertips, the trainer cringed. Trying to steady her breathing, she tried to scramble back up the abyss's wall, but discovered that the pit's edges were too smooth to scale. With her fingers growing numb with their exersion, the girl turned to her Pokemon, who was pacing back and forth in fright.

"Go! Get...help!" she managed to yell out into the stale cavern air.

Wihout hesitation, Kuroi sprang to the cave's entrance and out into the daylight, casting one last worried glance over its shoulder before running off to seek aid.

Reena sat by the river edge at three o’clock in the afternoon. Kitsune, by Reena’s side, is also enjoying the fresh mountain air along with its trainer. After a short afternoon nap, Reena felt refreshed and rejuvenated; she wondered what awaits her next on an ordinary afternoon like this.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, Reena heard rustling coming from the bushes. Alarmed, the girl stood up in suspense. Kitsune also prepared for an attacking monster to pop out of the bushes at any time. However, what did appear was a dark Eevee.

The Eevee jabbered a nonsense rubbish to Kitsune, and the Vulpix replied back. After a short conversation between the two pokemon, the excluded Reena came to an understanding of what to do. The girl’s connection with her small fox practically allowed her to understand what the Eevee wanted.

With agile steps, the dark Eevee swiftly dashed away as Reena and Kitsune followed behind. In a few short minutes, the girl and the fox arrived at a cave, Meteor Falls. As Reena followed the Eevee, the cave became darker and deeper, until Reena almost lost sight what’s in front of her.

Finally, the Eevee stops. Reena realized a girl was hanging by the edge of a cliff. A few pebbles at the edge of Reena’s shoes fell down the cliff as Reena realized she was so close to falling off as well. The purple eyed girl retreated a few steps backwards and sent out her Chikorita.

“Are you okay? Hold on, grab a hold of the vine!” Reena said to the girl, and to Rita, “Rita, use vine whip!”

The Chikorita unleashed two long green strands from her green shaped necklace around its neck. In a few “whish’s” and “whoop’s,” the vines reached down into the cliff. Reena only hoped the girl had caught the vines…

OOC- Can I just say that you two are brilliant RPers. Welcome to PRP.

BIC-

"You have got to be kiddin' me..." Yoshimitsu said, clapping his hand to his forehead. Ever since he had started his training again, he found that he couldn't remember much about a good number of pokemon. The pokemon still stuck strongly in his mind, but things like strengths, weaknesses, attacks and abilities were gone. He did know one thing though - grass beats water. And unfortunately, that was what he was up against.

"Mudkip, be careful! Lombre's a powerful grass type, and it could easy have us beat if we don't be careful!" Yoshimitsu yelled to his pokemon. Mudkip turned his head, and nodded with a worried look on his face. "Don't worry, Mudkip, I'll make sure that we win."
If I can... Yoshimitsu thought.

"Lombre!" Yoshimitsu's opponent, a trainer named David, yelled. "Start things off with a Fake Out!"

Lombre's relaxed posture changed, and he seemed a lot more rigid. Yoshimitsu knew this well - it was standard in any battle. Lombre was backing his attack with power. The grass-and-water-type pokemon ran at Lombre, and as he ran his arms started glowing. Yoshimitsu knew the attack, although barely. Not strong, but it made the receiver flinch.

"Mudkip, aim your Water Gun at the ground and get over Lombre!" Yoshimitsu yelled, using a tactic that everybody used. Mudkip nodded, and waiting for Lombre to get a bit close. The water type pokemon lowered his head, making sure that his eyes were kept on oLombre at all times. As soon as Lombre was a meter away, he started blasting water out of his mouth, which propelled him into the air, where he flipped over Lombre.

"Great! Now use Water Gun again at Lombre!" Yoshimitsu yelled. Mudkip nodded again, and started firing out water again. Lombre spun on the spot, and lowered his own head. The water hit Lombre's lily-pad hat, and stayed there. Mudkip landed, not using Water Gun any more, and bent his knees slightly.

"Lombre! Ice Beam!" David yelled. Lombre nodded, the temperature in his hat dropping, the water starting to freeze over. Lombre leapt into the air and swung his head around, throwing the now-half-frozen water at Mudkip. Mudkip took his attack into his own hands, and turned around, kicking up earth with his hind legs, a Mud Slap attack.

The two attacks met, and both exploded. Mudkip used this to his advantage, as did Yoshimitsu

"Icy Wind!" Yoshimitsu roared. Mudkip leapt into the air, gathering his own elemental energy in his mouth. It grew colder instantly, and more energy started to gather there, although not quite enough for an Ice Beam. Mudkip yelled his name, and blasted out the frozen-wind attack. Lombre was thrown backwards by the force of the attack, and was slammed into a wall.

"Lombre!"
"You lose."

The dust settled, and Lombre was lying on the floor, face down.
"You might wanna try to add some defense to your Lombre's battle style," Yoshimitsu said with a wink. Mudkip ran back to Yoshimitsu, who crouched down and allowed Mudkip to run up his arm and onto his shoulder.

Yoshimitsu stood up and turned, seeing a trainer's Vulpix talking to another Eevee. He stood a little bit away from them, listening in on the conversation. When it stopped dead before he got any useful information, his curiosity reached an all time high. He followed the trainer and the two pokemon, right into Meteor Falls.

"You're joking..." He said to himself. "Who would come in here without any light? Better make some..."

Yoshimitsu raised a hand, and a flame appeared in his palm, burning without any need to oxygen or fuel. The area around him was lit up, and he saw the trainer and the two pokemon he was following. He did notice one thing else - they were all looking over the edge. Yoshimitsu walked over, and peered over.

"Uh oh..." He said to himself. "Already shown one thing I can do... Hate to throw away a rescue attempt, miss, but since I can help..."

Yoshimitsu jumped off the edge of the hole, but he didn't fall far. He stopped after a few meters, drawing level with the trainer who was holding on for dear life. He hovered over to her, and put his arms around her waist. Then, he ascended again to the top of the hole, and put her down.

"You ok?"

OOC- Yeah... sorry to throw away Chikorita's Vine Whip...

OOC-I know that it's rather short, but I don't want to start autoing what your character do
^.^

Kahiri blushed furiously. After the initial shock of nearly being sent plummeting into the darkness below wore off, she realized how foolish her antics had been. She'd had to be rescued by,not one, but two trainers, who sat expectantly in front of her now. First she turned to Kuroi, who was bouncing about her feet with joyous calls. Scratching his long ears in pride, she lifted the fox-like Pokemon, who curled up in her arms. Then she turned her attention, however reluctantly, to the female and male trainers in front of her.

"I...want to thank you two." she finally stuttered, feeling more rediculous all the more. "I guess I was a little too impatient to get here." she tried to explain.

While she explained how she planned on catching a Bagon in the dark cavern, she realized, with a plummeting feeling, that she couldn't. With the deep darkness of Meteor Falls, she knew that there could very well be more unseen dangers, some of which she might not avoid. Then, as her voice dwindled off into silence, she studied the trainers. Both were older than her by far, and made her feel pitiful. As shyness started to take over, she took an involuntary step backwards and almost repeated her earlier stunt. But, before she could slip over the rivine's edge, she grit her teeth and pushed (hard) with her right foot, sending her slightly to the left, where the cliff was farther back. Sighing, she looked back up at the two.

"Would either of you mind--" she started, but what she wanted to know if they minded was interrupted by a peculiar noise. It grew louder, as the rocky surface underneath the trainers' feet began to quake. By the time Kahiri could realize what was happening, it was too late. The ground began to crumble, pitching her and Kuroi, Reena and Rita, and Yoshimitsu into the very pit that she'd narrowly avoided missing.

"Kuroi, Protect!" she cried into the pitch-black air, and as she felt the shield envelope her and her Eevee, she could only hope that the other two trainers were safe.

“Waaaa—ahhh!” Reena cried out the moment the ground disappeared on her. Her two Pokemon, Kitsune and Rita, both fell along with everyone else. Reena quickly placed her hands upon her long skirt to prevent it from flapping up, as she squeezed her eyes shut in fear. What did I get myself into?! Her insane mind screamed as her heart pounded quickly, while she tumbled quickly down.

Rita took things into her own vines, as she hastily wrapped two long, green ropes onto her trainer’s waist. The feeling of Rita’s small leaf strangely calmed the falling girl, which gave her the strength to peek open her eyes. Kitsune fell along with Rita, and Reena noticed a large sphere surrounding the trio.

She must have used Protect, smart choice… Reena thought of the articles she read on Defensive Maneuvers, and Protect happens to be one of the stronger ones. That made the girl safer, although not by much. Reena peered down, though she could not see much further away then the illuminated shield Kitsune formed, and wished everyone can get out of this terrible ordeal somehow.

We will be safe… Reena thought to herself as she looked around at her two companions, But I hope everyone else will be all right as well. As if on cue, her two Pokemon hugged closer to the girl and tried their best to calm their frightened trainer. She looked down once more and silently prayed, thinking of her family and older brother….

The group seemed to fall forever, surrounded in an eerie darkness as they fell. Kahiri swallowed loudly, and tried to get closer to Kuroi. The small Eevee had his eyes screwed shut in concentration, unwilling to let the barrier that protected them falter. She smiled to herself despite her predicament, feeling overcome by the bond beween her Poemon and her. All of this for a Bagon! she though to herself with amusement.

Almost ten minutes after Kahiri had that thought, she felt an ominous feeling surround them, almost as if they had just passed some boundry that no one was supposed to know about. But still they fell. It was with alarm that she realized that she was getting cold, and wondered how long they had been falling. The feeling grew worse, until the trainer, though she couldn't sight anyone else out around her, called,

"I think we're about to land!"

Then, to Kuroi, who had beads of sweat on his charcoal-colored brow, she added,

"Almost there, hang on."

Sure enough, the ground, she sensed it rather than saw it, came rushing up to them, and they landed hard. She heard Kuroi's Protect crack as they struck the rocky ground, and then they were there...wherever that was...sprawled along the ground. Without hesitation Kahiri got to her feet, wincing as she felt the impact pains shoot through her body. She looked around hopefully, but couldn't see anybody. After staring blindly into the pitch-black, she decided to test an idea.

"Kuroi, Sunny Day!" she called gently, unable to hide the worry for her Pokemon in her voice.

But the Eevee's voice cut through the darkness. "Eve!" it called, before attempting the attack.

Kahiri wasn't sure that the skill would even take affect, since Sunny Day was meant to strengthen the sun's rays, not create them. But her doubt was short lived. Though strange, a faint ball of light soon took form above the duo's heads, sending out a narrow beam of light. Yet, even though the beacon supplied light, Kahiri could only see some surrounding pebbles, and a few large boulders. Checking, she established that the floor was slightly damp, and the air was humid. I wander if there's any water down here to make the air so humid. she pondered.

"Eve! Ee! Eveve!"

Kuroi's cries shook her from her thoughts, and she glanced at the small Pokemon by the makeshift light. Grinning, she nodded.

"You're right. If anyone else is near, they should be drawn here by the light. So...should we wait?" she asked.

The Eevee nodded, its furry white mane shaking lightly. The trainer fumbled in her pack (it was a miracle that it had made it) for a second, then pulled out a small blanket. She laid it out on the cold, damp floor, and sat down upon it. Kuroi followed suit, and the pair sat together, waiting for any signs of life besides each other.

"This is just getting silly now..." Yoshimitsu muttered to himself as the ground below him gave way. He did not fall, however. He hovered there, waiting for the rock to fall first so that he could get down unscathed. Not that he couldn't have had Mudkip blast the rocks away anyway.

"Mudkip, do you know anything about Meteor Falls? I've been here once before, but only once," Yoshimitsu asked. Mudkip shook his head, and looked at the hole. "Heh, don't worry, we'll get down just fine."

Yoshimitsu stopped hovering, and just fell down the hole. As soon as he saw the bottom, he'd slow his descent.
"Hold on, if I want to see the bottom, I'll need some light," he said to himself, concentrating briefly. Another flame erupted in his hand. Yoshimitsu spun in the air, holding Mudkip close to his chest, and holding his right arm out in front of him.

After a few minutes, he saw the ground. Instantly, he flipped in the air and floated casually down to earth. He closed his hand, the flame vanishing, but he found himself able to see just fine. After a brief look around, he concluded that someone must have used a move like Sunny Day, since he could see a ball of light. He dashed towards the light, and found Kahiri and Kuroi.

"Heya," he said. "I never introduced myself. I'm Yoshimitsu." Yoshimitsu extended his hand to the girl.

OOC- Bit pants... It's first thing in the morning for me. Sorta.

When the older trainer had dashed suddenly to her side, Kahiri had jumped. Unable to know what kinds of Pokemon could be down here, she was cautious, but relaxed as she recognized the strange trainer. Immediately her eyes fell on his hand that held a small flame. But she dismissed it swiftly, after all, there were many abnormal trainers. As he extended his hand and offered his name, the female trainer smiled. Lifting herself from the stiff, rocky floor, she took his hand. Shaking casually with the young adult she replied,

"Hi. I'm Kahiri, and the Eevee's Kuroi." she finished, pointing to the Eevee who had stood, and was now stretching as he flexed his claws.

She smiled at the Mudkip in his hands, and sighed. She was starting to wish that she had just stayed in Rustboro after catching the Pikachu at the Safari Zone. But, the Bagon still trapped her, not to mention this eerie cave that they found themselves in. I wonder if anybody...or thing...lives here. she thought, casting a suspicious glance around the darkness. She began to ask where the boy's friend was, but then stopped. She didn't know whether the two were together or not, so changed her question at the last moment.

"Do you know if the girl with a Chikorita fell down?" she asked hopefully.

As she asked the question, she felt another rumbling, and looked down to her feet. A crack was appearing in the rock...fast. Not this time! she told herself when the ground started crumbling once more. She took off running, forgetting momentarily of the boy. He can levitate, he'll be fine. she reminded herself, jumping to her hands, then launching herself forwards. As her shoes thumped solidly on the rocken ground, she sighed.

Worried about the other girl now, she kneed down, her brow wrinkled in thought. The large hole seperated her from Yashimitsu, but she doubted it would stay that way for long. Massaging her temples, two different ideas ran around in her mind. Come on! cheered one thought, you've probably got a chance to discover something exciting down here! While the other part insisted, nonsense! Get out of here, and stick with training your Pikachu!
She frowned, and decided to wait until the trio was all together before she decided anything. SO she waited, the Sunny Day sun shining luminously in the humid cavern.

“It’s time, girls, get ready.” Reena informed her Pokemon, and herself. I have to be strong for my Pokemon. I am their trainer… A thought of fear ran through her mind, while her two Pokemon gathered closer to their trainer. Reena made a sound as the sphere bounced off the side of a cavern. The Protect flickered once, but Kitsune held on her powers with her eyes closed. Then they hit the ground.

Surprisingly, the landing was not as bad as she expected. Kitsune finally opened her eyes when she realized that they stopped falling, and the shield instantly disappeared. Finally with her shoes on the ground, her mind started to clear up. Looks like the ground is soft here, Reena observed as Rita unclasped her vines off her trainer’s waist, that made our landing easier. Reena concluded as she check on her too Pokemon. Kitsune tired herself out keeping up with the barrier, but Rita was quite alright. “Come on girls, we need to catch up to the others.” Kitsune leaped into Reena’s small bag, while Rita bounced by her trainer’s side.

Her mind and heart was still racing from the last event, while she fixed her long hair while walking towards a light source. I think that is them… cavern Pokemon usually live in the dark, so I do not think it is wild Pokemon. Reena concluded as she thought back to the articles she read on wild Pokemon. Rita ran on ahead, ignoring her trainer’s call. “Stay back Rita!”

Reena threw herself forward, and tried her best to look around the corner. A sigh of relief escaped the girl as her purple eyes registered her previous companions. Rita, seeing a Mudkip, jumped closer and wanted to play. Reena nervously blushed, and was embarrassed by her Pokemon. How are we going to get out of here…?

OOC-Sorry Yashimitsu, I'm going to assume that you met up with Kahiri once more by floating across the gap. Hope you don't mind. If you do, I'll edit it.

BIC-
As she watched Reena take form out of the shadows cast by Kuroi's fake sun, Kahiri sighed. She stood up once more, trying not to think of how much filth had probably collected on the bottom of her smaall blanket. She took notice of the fact that the Eevee's Sunny Day was wearing off; the eerie ball of light was flickering occasionally. She knew that whatever everyone did, they'd have to hurry, or else they'd only have Yoshimitsu's handheld flame to see by.

"Hiya! Sorry about earlier," she stated, smiling warmly as the older female trainer drew near, "I'm Kahiri. My Eevee is Kuroi."

Shuffling her feet, Kahiri bit her tongue. She had decided what she wished to do, no matter how mysterious this place was. The only question was whether anyone else would want to come. She cleared her throat, and when she had the other trainers' attention, she announced,

"I'm sorry about this mess, but I have to admit that it's suspicious. I've decided to study this place, and I'd appreciate a little company." here she paused for a momnet, then resumed, "this isn't the kind of place I'd want to be in alone."

She waited to hear what the other trainers had to say, relying on the fact that most adventurers wouldn't dare pass up this chance at exploring. She leaned up against a nearby wall, shivering as the wall dampened her shirt. She couldn't help but feel that if she continued into the cave, or further below, that she may find something that no one had before. Kuroi jumped up into her arms, warming them up with his beautifully thick, glossy fur. As she pet her Pokemon soothingly, she could almost feel something calling to her. In fact, she began to wonder if she was the only one that had a feeling that something, or someone, was calling,

Come, trainers. Come...

Yoshimitsu nodded, walked over to the newly-formed hole, and stood over it, eyes closed. He was thinking.
Meteor Falls... I've only been here once before... Some of the pokemon here are very strong... But then, if these two go in alone, they might get hurt... I may as well go with them, I've always wanted to know more about this place.

"Ok, I'm in," he said, stepping back on to land. "May as well join you, I can light the cave and conserve our pokemons' energies. Besides, what if more holes open?" Yoshimitsu smirked and winked to the two girls as he said that last line.

"By the way, Kahiri, I was wondering. You can't have decided that when you first came in. Why did you come in in the first place?"

OOC- Sorry about the short reply...

Kahiri sighed in relief at the older trainer's reply. Normally she would've been insulted that the boy's response, assuming that he thought her too weak to take care of herself. And he would be right, judging from the way you rushed in here without light. countered her logical side. She nodded submisively, choosing not to mention the voice that was whispering to her, thinking that it may be afterskock of the alarming fall.

"Actually," she explained, her eyes lighting up as she thought about it, "I planned on catching a Bagon. I forgot that I needed Flash, or else I would've brought my Pikachu."

She shrugged simply, saying that what conclusions they drew was up to them, then turned to Reena.

"So? Are you coming?" she asked, smiling as if to say that the choice was up to her, and her alone.

But it faltered on accident as,

Come, trainers. Come. coursed through her head like a drug.

Reena despised the darkness of the cave, but something compelled her to it. However, a tiny voice in her head kept on asking her, isn’t there something odd about the cave? Reena couldn’t help but think there is a bigger mystery in the cave. However, she quickly shook this feeling off and ignored the little voice inside her head.

Reena contemplated the pros and cons of this inevitable journey and realized there is just no harm in coming along. After all, she did go on a journey all by herself because she wanted to venture all around the world. What better way than to start by journeying inside a deep, dark cave? Moreover, she didn’t mind company.

Reena walked toward Kahiri and Yoshimitsu and exclaimed, “I sure don’t mind an adventure! Let’s go!”

Having both of the other trainers consent, Kahiri nodded. Setting her Eevee on top of her head, with his hind paws on her shoulders, and his front ones on her head, she prepared to depart. She scooped the blanket off the slightly moist ground, and shook as much debris as she could from it. Then, without turning back to look at him for fear of making him loose his balance, she called to Juroi,

"Use Sunny Day again. That way, we'll have awhile until Yoshimitsu has to lead the way."

She checked to make sure her shoes were tied, that she had her bag positioned so that she could reach a Pokeball or Pokedoll, and straightened up. As the Eevee shuttered, causing the ball of fading light to pulse brighter than ever, she walked to the pit's edge. She chewed on her tongue for a moment, trying to think past the calling voice.

Should I Come trainer, come.-try to go down, or explore here some-Come, trainer. more before we go.

She found the voice demanding, and, oddly enough, it changed.

Come the ones that feel my pull,
Come and see the mystery.
You cannot escape my voice's rule,
The trainers who will make history.

Kahiri began furiously shaking her head, like a dog trying to dislodge every particle of water on it. Should couldn't hide it any more, she had to know before they went on,

"Am I the only one who's hearing voices calling to us?" she asked in frustration, staring at the older trainers.

"Am I the only one who's hearing voices calling to us?" Kahiri suddenly called out in frustration, frightening Reena. Reena looked down to her Chikorita, whom stared curiously back to her trainer.

“Well, I don’t hear –” Reena was about to reply to her younger companion before she noticed something. The girl slowly turned around, while Rita dropped her animated persona, and took on a serious one. Reena stepped forward, away from Kuroi’s bright ball of flames. She stared at the shadows on the walls, and carefully observed them. A single movement tipped the young trainer off, but she still was not sure.

“Razor Leaf, quick, over there!” Reena called out in alarm, pointing at some invisible blackness at a wild direction. Rita nevertheless followed her trainer’s orders, and whirled her head around in a quick fashion. Two identical green blades flied out, and they spun their ways towards where Reena was pointing. One of the leaves missed the mark by a mile, while the other hit home.

A small shadow surfaced from the walls, and Reena quickly noticed it was a contour of a Pokemon. “Duskull…” It cried out in a dull fashion, although that was enough to scare the living-hell out of Reena. The girl shrieked and jumped back, while flinging an empty Poke-Ball towards the Pokemon. The red and white sphere enveloped the wild Pokemon, while Rita watched curiously as Duskull struggled.

A blast of white light shed over the cave for a second, while Duskull reemerged. It blinked with its single red eye, looking curiously at Rita before moving forward in a quick speed.

“Wha—aa!” Reena screamed again as she darted behind her Pokemon, while Rita furrowed her borrows and got into a battle position. The small Chikorita charged forward as well, and met the Duskull half-way. Rita stormed past the wild Pokemon, but got nothing but air. Oooh, I understand now. Duskull is a Ghost type, and physical attacks won’t work on it.

The Duskull turned around and bored its red eye onto Rita. “Be careful!” Reena quickly called out, “Your Tackle attacks won’t work against it.” Rita nodded at the help from her trainer, and stared ahead at the charging Pokemon. The Chikorita showed off her signature Grass attack and sent a single vine forward. The Duskull, however, still passed through the attack harmlessly.

Huh? Reena’s mind whirled around, not knowing what was going on. That was not a Physical attack… so why did it miss? Reena shut her eyes for a moment as Rita was sent flying backwards, but the determined Pokemon got right back up. Duskull, it can disappear and reappear at will! Reena finally dispelled the myth, and it was time for a pay back.

“All right Rita, follow my lead.” Reena called out with the same confidence her Pokemon inhibit, and they both stared at the one-eyed Pokemon ahead. It charged forward once again, but this time, Reena and Rita were ready.

“Fire a Razor Leaf.” Rita gave no doubt to her trainer’s command, and whirled her small leaf around. A single green leaf flew forward, yet the Duskull disappeared right past it. “Now, quickly, Sleep Powder! Catch it when it reappears!” Rita spun the leaf overhead once again, releasing a stream of blue powder. The grass attack caught Duskull right when it was reappearing, and coated the Ghost Pokemon.

It struggled for a second, but it quickly dropped towards the ground, motionless. Reena tried it once again, and tossed forward the Poke-Ball. For a second, Reena thought the Duskull would still break loose, but it stayed – and stayed captured.

Rita ran straight at the unmoving Poke-Ball, while Reena easily bent over and picked it up. Minimizing the small sphere, she clasped it inside her bag, and let it join Kitsune. She then turned back to Kahiri, “Was that the noise? Or was it something else…?”

Reena stood silently, while the others did the same. Kahiri pondered for a single moment…

OOC:
I am not sure if that's how I can catch a Pokemon. If I did it wrong, some one correct me. (Sorry in advance... >.<)

OOC- Actually, I deeply approve. You were realistic with how it escaped the first time.

BIC-
she pondered for a single moment, then, even though the voice had quieted, she shook her head. The voice was almost gentle, and femine. She sighed in frustration, but quickly got back into her upbeat attitude.

"No, that wasn't it, but congratulations on your capture." she exclaimed, giving the other girl the thumbs-up sign.

After witnessing the battle, Kahiri decided to be equally ready, and inserted five empty Pokeballs into her belt. Kuroi's ball was slightly dusty from lack of use, and was painted black to mark it out from others. After firmly plugging in the balls, she twisted to pop her back, then cast a bright grin at the other two trainers. Determined to be the first to discover any mysteries--

Come, trainers. Answer my call,
many opportunities await.
To succeed, you first must fall,
And that is how you will reach your fate.

Kahiri blinked, then frowned. She was sick of having her thoughts interuppted, but then stopped. Maybe she was supposed to act as a guide to the secret place hidden inside of the eerie Falls. If so, then she wondered what the other trainers' were supposed to do. What if they had more important roles in this journey. Great. thy get to combat Pokemon while I listen to voices in my head...I sound like a crazy erson. She marveled.

She quickly dispelled the ideas, and cast another grin about the glow. She knew that her forwns, then quick smirks must look strange to the older trainers, but she couldn't help it. Without so much as a warning, she lunged into the newly formed hole, calling,

"Come on, we're supposed to fall!"

Kuroi seemed to disagree however. He clung like a burr to her neck, having slipped as she leaped forward into the hole. With his front paws wrapped around her neck, they fell. The Eevee was quick to cast another Protect about the team as they punged downward, the shimmering blue bubble illuminated by...Kuroi's sun? She cringed as she realized that the Sunny Day sun would follow it's maker, knowing that the other trainers had been cast suddenly into darkness. She tried to dispell to concentrate on when the ground was going to come up instead, knowing that Reena would fend for herself, as well as Yoshimitsu.
***
They fell for about two minutes before hitting the ground. This area was even more marsh-like, and though Kahiri managed to land skillfully on a protruding boulder, it sank to its very tip under her weight. Kuroi was quick to make his way over to her, leaping lightly from stone to stone. Sitting on the boulder parallel to hers, he got nto a battle stance. Kahiri cocked her head dubiously to one side, then it dawned on her.

"Where is it?" she asked, looking around for the enemy that Kuroi had apparently sighted.

Then, with only a small squish for warning, a small Trapinch flew from the ground in a Dig attack. Almost expectantly, Kuroi hopped out of the attack's path, then turned in midair and delivered a fierce Return attack, glowing white for a split-second before charging the ground-type Pokemon. It cried in surprise, but quickly dove beneath the soggy ground once more, its jaws gnashing together furiously.

"Quick, use your own Dig!" called Kahiri, anxious to avoid her Pokemon taking a hit.

Kuroi nodded in agreement, and dove expertly uder the ground himself, his claws slashing through ther mucky ground. hen the Trapinch flung itself into the air, it landed with a bewildered expression. When Kuroi popped out of the ground directly beneath the Pokemon, it flew into the air with the force. But the Eevee was momentarily stunned by the Trapinch's hard shell. While he blinked, trying to recoordinate himself, the ground-type latched itself to the dark Pokemon's haunch, its jaws glowing as it executed a Crunch attack.

Kuroi bellowed loudly with pain, but was motivated to react. It curled its neck around, and struck out with his own attack, throwing all his body weight on the Trapinch. The Body Slam stunned the exhausted Pokemon for just long enough for Kahiri to pull out an unoccupied Pokeball, enlarge it, and throw it at the Trapinch. As it was enveloped in the white light, Kuroi sprung away from the area. It watched silently while the ball shook wildly, and Kahiri was positive that it was going to reject its prison, no matter how weak it was.

But it finally, after almost six shakes, stopped, and gave out the official beep that signified a successful capture. Then Kahiri was faced with the problem of how to retrieve the ball from the muck. Since Kuroi was coated with the wet mud anyways, he hopped back into it, sludging his way over to he small red and white Pokeball. Taking it carefully in his teeth, he waded over to his trainer, and deposited it into her hand. She smiled lovingly at him, and looked around. Since the Sunny Day was still glowing brilliantly, she knew that Reena and Yoshimitsu would be able to see them in the thick, almost foggy air. So she made her way to a big boulder nearby, and sat down on her worn, dirty blanket. Humming to herself as she waited for company.

OOC- There, a rather cruddy catch, but hey, it works ^.^

Reena and Rita, both tired out from the previous battle, took a good rest as Kahiri and Kuroi took their leap of faith. Reena has cried out after them, yet after she realized the bright lights from Kuroi’s Sunny Day were still alive, which meant that the two were safe. The girl peered over the large hole, but she did not see much of the battle, so she resorted to her hearing abilities.

Sounds like she got it, whatever it is. Reena silently thought to herself, feeling happy for Kahiri to gain a new partner as well. A moment of silence lapsed before Reena realized Kahiri has been waiting for her. She turned and took a look at the boy, but found his back facing her. Hmph… The girl thought while she peered down once again, slightly scared by the deepness of the drop. I hate this, Reena thought as she looked around for a slab of solid rock.

“Rita, Vine Whip on that one, over there.” Reena keenly pointed to a sturdy boulder close to the opening, and watched the Grass type lashed her vines around it. Holding onto Rita’s body, the frightened girl edged over to the large hole. She squeezed shut her eyes, fixed her skirt, and then held onto Rita for dear life as she jumped into the opening. Rita balanced their weight expertly, slowly and steadily dropping themselves down. Within seconds, the pair reached down to a murky level.

Reena took a look around her, but she did not find much due to the thick fume. She quickly made her way over to Kahiri, Rita still safely in her arms. Standing next to the younger trainer, she blew a strand of hair with some frustration…

As she watched the rope-climbing demonstration take place above her, Kahiri smiled in a bittersweet way. She wished that she had a grass Pokemon to help her, but knew that Kuroi did his best. As she watched the older girl make her way over to her, the teenage trainer laughed. When Reena blew up to get a strand of wayward hair out of her face, she smiled, then stood. Looking sadly at her mud-coated Eevee, she shook her head.

"Hey. Well, I caught a Trapinch," she declared, "but Juroi got his share of that sludge in the meantime." she finished, gesturing vaguely around the desolate level they were on.

Casting her gaze back up at the mediocre opening she frowned slightly. She sat in this way, her hair only held up by her bandanna, for a full minute. Then sighed.

"Is Yosh coming?" she asked partly to herself, partly to Reena, and partly to the unchanging pit's top.

She turned to look at the other girl, and blinked. She wasn't short enough to be a full head lower than the girl, but there she was. Reena was also glaring up at the hole, an annoyed expression etched out on her face. Clearing her throat uncertainly, she asked,

"Is it just me...or am I sinking?"

As she said this she looked down. Then wished she hadn't. She was up to her knees in oozing dark mud, the rock that had been a sturdy ground, had sunken out of view. A small tremor issued throughout the lower cavern's expanse, and Kahiri moaned. Just as she felt her legs dangle through the bottom of this level--or the top of the next one--she realized that Juroi wasn't close enough to her to jump to her. She was trapped, sinking through the floor to next level, without any way to safely get down.

She looked up (she was now almost two feet lower than Reena, who had been preoccupied in her stares at the opening) at the other girl and called,

"Hey!"

She was about to ask for Rita shoot her out a vine, or slingshot Juroi over to her, but went silent as she felt a new feeling enshroud her thoroughly dirty shoes. It was cold...and wet.

"Help!" she yelped suddenly, panicked at what she felt. "The next level is filled with water!"

OOC- I know...you would've probably answered before it came to this, but, well, had to get to my point. I know that this post isn't very detailed, but there was nothing new to describe ='( Oh well. Oh, BTW, I'm grounded...at least I am when mom's home. Don't ask >.<; Just know that it's not my desicion to stay off a lot until Saturday. (I called my 5-yr-old bro. 'Stupid'! And she went crazy!) “Help!”

“Huh?” Reena turned around and did not find Kahiri, yet she was just behind her a moment ago. Then the girl looked down, and found Kahiri slowly sinking into something oozy and murky. A strand of panic flashed across her chest, however, she did not now what to do.

“The next level is filled with water!” She cried out, while her faithful Eevee was about to make the leap towards its trainer. Reena quickly stopped the little Pokemon, knowing that it might share the same fate as its trainer. What can I do? I know that Rita alone is not strong enough to get her out of there… and I need to think of something fast!

Reena’s head whirled for a second, yet her eyes never left the desperate face painted on the trapped girl. With a swift and fluid motion, Reena released her newest capture. Although still weak from the previous battle, Dusk has strength to go on for a while. “Dusk, I need you to go through the ground, and push her up from the bottom.” Reena thought about the impossibility of her recent orders, yet she knew Duskull can go through solid objects, and hoped it would work. The once wild Pokemon complied rather easily, and quickly disappeared into thin air.

“Great. Rita, can you please try another Vine Whip?” Reena asked sweetly, letting the small Grass type jump from her arms onto a stable plot of earth. Chikorita flung two green ropes at the falling girl at once, which she instinctively held onto. Reena kneel close to the ground, and began helping Rita on the left vine. Kuroi quickly tended onto the right vine, not wanting to lose its trainer. Reena dumped all her strength onto one single slug, hoping the combined-effort of everyone else will succeed their goal, or Kahiri was done for…

As she felt the two Pokemon work together to counteract the suction-like mud, Kahiri was helping also. With all the muscles she had from living with the Eevee group before, she tugged at the thick green vine, hoping that the Chikorita wasn't going through too much pain on her behalf. With a final wrench, she went tumbling headfirst onto the solid dirt island. Wincing as a bump formed on her head, she stood on wobbly legs. Her legs and shoes from the knees down were sopping wet with muck and water, but she started to laugh.

"Well! There goes my blanket!" she chortled, the laughter of someone that narrowly escaped a dangerous situation.

Then she turned to face the older girl and sighed. Blushing she whispered,

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I'm causing. Normally I can look out for my own welfare."

She seemed to shrivel, but wasn't bad enough off to reject Juroi as he leaped joyously into her arms. Coating her face with Eevee-kisses, he clambered onto her head, crying out happily. Since she had her dignity back (either back or completely gone) she turned her head and her eyes grew big. Of course! I didn't listen for the next set of instructions! she realized, and sat down. She gestured for Reena to follow suit, then began to meditate. She remained silent for almost two minutes until,

Bravely through the hole in the stone,
The place you can only reach if thrown.
Then closer you are, to the land of mist,
Once enshrouded by fog, three names you must list.
First is the one descended from all.
Second is the one who travels through time.
The third, the sea, is where he comes from,
though he can breathe freely, up in the sky.

Positive that the directions were finished, Kahiri stood back up. Not willing to go anywhere without being certain of where they were supposed to head, the trainer repeated the first line.

"Well Reena," she stated. "The mind-voice said to go..." she screwed her eyes shut to repeat the voice's exact words.

"Bravely through the hole in the stone. The place you can only reach if thrown."

Looking up slightly at the now-standing trainer, she puzzled over the clues. She blocked out the sloshing of the marsh-like ground, and tried to keep her eyes from straying instinctively towards the reassuringly warm Sunny Day. After a minute of silent puzzling she voiced her opinion.

"I dunno. But do you think that there's a type of opening somewhere high up on this level's side? Where we'd have to be 'thrown'," here she grinned, "or Vine Whipped to reach?"

She sat politely, Juroi nuzzling her ear affectionately, for the older trainer's thoughts. After all, they didn't want to end up like Kahiri almost did. If nothing else, she knew that, as the dreary fog (not mist) seemed to weigh down the air.

OOC- lol, you won't have to feel bad, seeing this quality of rubbish XP

"I'm sorry for all the trouble I'm causing. Normally I can look out for my own welfare."

Reena blushed along with the girl, not used to hearing apologies from others. Usually, it was the klutzy Reena that apologizes to others, not the other way around. The girl quickly gave out a reassuring reply, while coating the answer with a friendly smile. Rita resumed at resting in her trainer’s arms, while Kitsune drifted into a deep sleep inside the bag. Dusk now accompanied the two humans, floating eerily along side of the two females.

She sitting down… she must be listening for those voices again. Reena felt the need to follow suit, though she knew that no supernatural help will decent upon her. Finding a relatively clean ground, she sat uneasily upon her now-dirty skirt, wishing more and more for the end of this journey.

Great, I knew it! I am getting nothing. Reena once again blew an overlying hair out of her eyesight, her face filled with frustration. Then she threw a small gaze at the female trainer next to her, and took note of her smooth cheeks and the texture of her concentrating face.

"Well Reena," She stated. "The mind-voice said to go..." She screwed her eyes shut to repeat the voice's exact words... "Bravely through the hole in the stone. The place you can only reach if thrown."

Reena rose up along with Kahiri, and she bore her mind onto her unclean skirt. The girl developed some thoughts into the hints Kahiri provided, yet Reena was not exactly a genius. Most of her knowledge and wits came from books and the great classics, and she doubted the existence of such books about such eerie happenings.

Blushing into a redder shade then before, Reena uneasily shifted Rita in her arms. Lowering her voice in an embarrassed tone, she spoke out. “I am sorry Kahiri; I am really bad with puzzles.” Reena paused, and then continued on, “The word ‘thrown’ gives me the image of throwing a Poke-Ball…” The girl sheepishly gave Kahiri her strand of thoughts, but realistically, she dubiously sulked back the thoughts of success…

After the two trainers had contemplated a strand of ideas, Kahiri felt no closer to their goal. Rolling the Pokeball containing the new Trapinch between her hands, she sighed. Ruubbing her eyes wearily with the back of her pale hand, she shrugged in defeat and looked at Reena.

"We-" she yawned. "We could try to look along the cavern' walls, high up, for caves I suppose. It's not that big." she stated.

And the revolting and marshy cavern floor really wasn't all that big. Squinting into the looming fog the trainer could make out the back of the dank place's walls. The sone was jagged and rigid, and stood about thirty feet high until it hit the other floor's bottom. Or its top. Clucking her tongue for the sake of sound, Kahiri looked at the older girl, who looked sick of this place, and asked,

"Do you think we could split up and search the walls? If either of us finds something unordinary-" here she paused as if to think about the irony of that statement "-then we could give a call to alert the other."

She looked up uncertainly at Reena, wishing that the adreneline that had accompanied her fright wasn't wearing off. She could almost feel her eyelids being pulled by gravity. She sat, rocking back and forth in a dream-like state, wondering vaguely whether she should catch a Treeko or a Shroomish for her grass-type Pokemon.

Reena raised an eye-brow at Kahiri’s idea of splitting up, but she figured that the faster they get through the dungeon, the faster she can enjoy the brisk sunlight out in the open air – instead the makeshift sun of Kuroi. Speaking of which, I need my own light source… Reena thought as she realized that splitting up with Kahiri means the lack of Sunny Day from the Eevee. Which is not good.

Reena stared down at the Grass type in her arms, and knew the small Pokemon should enjoy her rest. Kitsune too, probably was still too worn out to do any productive. She turned towards her newest capture, and gave the Cyclops one good look in the eye. “Do you think you cast a Will-o-Wisp around us?”

Duskull made an eerie reply to the tired girl, and quickly got into action. Reena watched as her Pokemon conjured up fellow ghosts of the night in a creepy blue aura. Three shade of blue surrounded Reena and her Pokemon, generating a soundless bound of light. Reena smiled wearily towards her Pokemon, and made small steps along the wall.

She mindlessly nudged her dirty skirt as Dusk lead the way, and she found her eyes trailed on the side of the wall. The thick haze made it difficult to see, although the Ghost type’s Will-o-Wisp helped a great with in visibility. After what seemed like an eternity of following the wall, Duskull resorted to another screech of eerie.

I think he found something, the girl thought as she looked up towards the top of the wall, and noticed the pattern of the haze was different there. A spirit quickly lifted in her heart, as Reena do not want to be cramped in this closed cave for any longer. She called out towards Kahiri and Kuroi, and made no effort to mask the desperation in her voice.

“I think I found something!” Her voice echoed off the walls of the cave, as Rita and Reena hoped their companions heard the plight.

As soon as the female trainer heard the spine-chilling call of Reena's new Duskull, she bagan acrobatically skipping across the stones. As she put one foot onto one, she was already launching herself onto another. The stones didn't have enough time to sink, and Kahiri was across the 'room' in an instant.

Panting as the sweltering fog urged on the heat that came with exersion, she looked over her shoulder for Kuroi. He wasn't there. She felt a blockage in her throat, and nearly choked him to death when the Eevee popped up in front of her. Instead she settled with hugging him tightly, then looking up at the fellow female girl.

"Yes? You found somthing?" she panted, blinking sweat out of her eyes.

Then she rose her gaze to the Duskull, who was hovering about a darker area in the fog. Her hopes rising dramatically, she turned back to the older trainer.

"So," she asked, "do we venture on?"

She didn't notice the small bown shape that was forming behind her. Its armored skin was a sandy color, and its short claws where out to steady it. A long tail helped to balaced it as it struggled onto the flatform. Then it narrowed its small eyes, and lunged at the girl who was preoccupied.

"Shewwww!" it called, culing into a ball and striking her squarly on the face.

As Kahiri stumbled blindly as a small stream of blood coursed from the small head-wound. Kauroi was flung unceremoniously to the ground, and the small armored Sandshew ignored him. Instead it turned it's head towards the other girl, then lunged ragefully at her.

“Wha!” Reena doubled-back faster than ever before, seeing the opposing wild Pokemon lunged upon her. I didn’t even do anything to that Sandshrew. She thought between every large stride she could possibly make in a skirt, while the Duskull merely levitated at midair, enjoying this sort of comedy.

Reena felt a bit of tears around the corners of her eyes, and she tried her best to not trip as she ran around the room. I’ve had it! First I fell down a large tunnel, then I have to battle a ghost, and now I have Pokemon trying to kill me! Her mind whirled with frenzy. She turned her head around to look at the Sandshrew, and found it… gone?

“Shrew!” The wild Pokemon gestured widely as it rained down from the ceiling, ready to pounce on the girl and her Pokemon. Reena shrieked once again and skipped to her right, merely avoiding the falling Pokemon.

“Rita, can’t you do something?” Reena asked her Pokemon frantically as she began to run once again. She was too afraid to locate an attack from her brain, and all she knew was one thing – run.

The small Chikorita jumped down from Reena’s arms, and landed softly on the cavern ground. Dusk’s three spirits of flames still haunted them, granting them with some light and visibility. Two sharp leaves torn the air as they lapped at the Sandshrew, knocking the wild Pokemon backwards. Reena finally stopped running, and she took her to time press her hands on her tired knees, breathing in and out to acquire all the lost oxygen.

“End it quick, try a Sleep Powder.” Reena choked out in a raspy voice, her hand resting on her own chest. The Sandshrew charged on wildly, looking squarely at the Grass type ahead. Seconds later, a beautiful aroma spread throughout the cave, and the battle was finally over.

Reena took a second to look at the sleeping Pokemon, and made sure it was really sleeping. Then she looked around for Kahiri and Kuroi, “Hey, where are you guys?” She cried out desperately, not wanting to be alone with her Pokemon in a creepy cave like this…

Breathing shallowly, Kahiri heard a frenzied shout,

"Rita, can't you do something?"

Gingerly touching her head where the ground-type Pokemon had rammed into it, she groaned. First the hole, then the quicksand, now this!? she muttered mutinous thoughts to herself, as she teetored over to Reena. The girl looked about as amused as she did, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. The fog was getting extrmely annoying, as Juroi once more strengthened his Sunny Day. he skipped beside his trainer, angry that he hadn't been able to react fast enough.

"'Ey." the trainer called out, her words slightly slurred. "I'm all for getting the hell out of here."

She gestured vaguely in the direction of the dark fog, and set off there without waiting. She was staggering, and all she wanted was some sleep, a place to wash her clothes, and a bath. Slumping wearily against the moist wall, she stared out across the marsh. Then, ready for trouble, she crossed her arms. The dark Eevee sat by her, his tail twitching.

When something shot at her, this time she was ready. She couldn't make it out, all she knew was that it was trying to attack her.

"Juroi, Quick Attack!" she commanded, leaping to one side as the...greenish?...blur shot past her.

The Eevee shot after the unknown Pokemon, ramming into it. He sprang away from the rocky wall, and landed carefully on a protruding stone. The other Pokemon...stuck to the wall. Kahiri's eyes widened in recognition. Treeko? But, why down-- her thought was cut short as a small orb of light built up inside of the Treeo's mouth. It released the Absorb attack, hitting the Eevee and returning with some of the Pokemon's energy.

Angered, the Eevee let out a ball of dark light, hitting the grass-type Pokemon squarely in the chest. Panting now, the Treeko fled up the side of the wall, right for the darker patch of fog. Well. That was odd. thought Kahiri, swaying as another wave of pain washed over her.

i wish Reena would hurry and get us up there. Or else we're going to be killed by Pokemon. she thought irritably. Kuroi returned to her side, hunched over in distaste. He obviously didn't approve of the Treeko's flight from battle. Kahiri sat hopefully now, more han willing to scale a Vine Whip to get out of the monotonous marsh, fog, and humidity.

"You have GOT to be joking," Yoshimitsu said, teleporting in. He crouched, and looked at the unconsious pokemon on the ground. He reached for its neck, and checked for a pulse. It was clearly an angry pokemon, it had scratch marks all over. It was still alive, thankfully, but it wouldn't be if it was always this rageful.

"Well, whatever, not my problem," he said, standing up. He raised his hands to his eyes, creating a wave of energy over them. With this, he could see clearly through the fog, which was more than useful. Mudkip let out a small cry as he saw something. Yoshimitsu looked in that direction.

"Kahiri!" He yelled, running right into the fog. Within seconds, he was stood right next to her. He crouched, and examined her head.
"You were attacked? By that Sandshrew, I'll bet..." He said, his hand glowing again. He raised it to her head, the wound instantly sealing itself. "There, you should be ok... Just... try not to do anything for a few minutes."

"What is this place? Is it causing the behaviour of the pokemon here?" Yoshimitsu asked, standing up. Looking through the mist, he could see a green lizard pokemon, although not as clearly as he'd like to. It was obviously a Treecko. Yoshimitsu shrugged this off. Treecko's were more annoying than anything else, to him. Especially wild, bloodthirsty ones.

"We need to rest, really..." Yoshimitsu said, looking up again.

"REENA!" He yelled at the top of his voice, raising both of his hands in the air. A pillar of fire shot from them, and lingered for a second. Hopefully, Reena would see it. "REENA!" He yelled again. Then he said down.

"I'll keep up safe for a few hours, at the very least," He said, throwing up a barrier with one entrance. When Reena got here, she's be granted passage through the gap, and the shield would seal itself, allowing things like oxygen in, but not wild pokemon. "I hope she gets here soon..."

She heard her name being called a several time through the dense fog, yet the mist shrouded itself around the trio, not letting them out. Duskull’s Will-o-Wisp started to weakened, and the three spirits of flames barely held on as the newly capture Ghost Pokemon started to flutter. Dusk must be tired, and that battle with Rita took most out of him…

With a conscious decision, Reena withdrew the Requiem Pokemon back to his Poke-Ball, and stuffed it into her bag. She subconsciously petted Rita as the two now journeyed away, without light.

I really need to find a way out… She looked gently down at her tired Pokemon, and then she thought of Kitsune and Dusk – her three Pokemon simply has went through too much. Where are the others? She thought with unbounded worries.

Then, as if the heavens would answer her calls, a portion of the cave lit up with magnificent glory. The red lights spilled into the cavern ceilings, painting beautiful threads of chiaroscuros. Reena instinctively ran towards that direction, holding Rita tightly to her chest. Seconds later, a large sphere caught the attention of the girl.

Hey, it’s Kahiri and Yoshimitsu! Her heart cried out with joy as she darted towards the sphere with newfound energy. Reena stormed into the unknown sphere without any second-thoughts, and panted freely once she joined the others.

With everyone all together finally, Kahiri was feeling much more secure-and relatively exhausted. Fighting the building weight of her eyelids, the trainer turned pointedly towards Yoshimitsu. He hadn't heard the eerie puzzle, so she recited it to him. She wasn't certain why, but she withheld the rest of the information from him, reciting the part about 'going bravely through the stone that can only be reached by being thrown'

After she had finished, she wiped a strand of wayword red hair out of her eyes and yawned. As she yawned, of course, a loud growling sound filled their portion of the cavern. She blushed, and tugged off her dark green pack. Rummaging wildly in the largest pocket, she produced three energy bars. Small, cheap wrapping covered them, crinkling loudly as she tossed one to each of the others. The idea of them not being hungry didn't pass through her mind, as she bit enthusiastically into the oat combination.

As she chewed, she sat puzzling over something. Why don't I want to get out of here? I ought to...but I only want to go on. She shrugged mentally, and squinted up through the gloom. That dark area of smog, it HAD to be where they were meant to go. The rest of the swamp-like cave was unchanging--not to mention dangerous. As she watched, a small...Delibird? Seemed to appear out of nowhere. It's infamous Present bag was slung dutifully over its shoulder, and it approached the shimmering orb cautiously.

Tapping intelligently on the sheild, it cocked its bird-like head to one side, and opened its mouth.

"May I come in? I mean no harm." it chiped.

Kahiri felt her eyes bulge out of their sockets, and stumbled to her feet. Gazing in alarm at the Pokemon, she turned stupidly to the others.

"Did? You--see-hear?" she sputtered.

The Delibird sighed wearily and sat down. It unslung its bag and tugged a large envelope out of it. It had three terms scrawled on it.

The Flaming Discoverer
The Swimming Partner
The Grassy Protector

Kahiri, and probably the others as well, stared dully at the foot-long envelope. The Pokemon eyed them all in frustration, and announced

"I'm going to leave this here. It's for all of you.

With that it simply walked off. The mist enveloped it, and then it was gone--like an apparation or ghost.

Kahiri stared at Reena and Yoshi in turn. Laughing deliriously she stated,

"Well. I'm not the Protector. I'm not going to get it."

She chortled slightly, then sighed. She rubbed her eyes and muttered,

"I'd rather not open that. But I have a feeling that it has something in it that we'll need later."

She completely ignored the fact that the messenger had talked--intelligently too--, instead she turned to Reena and said,

"Does Rita have enough energy to get us up there? And," she turned to Yoshimitsu, "I am assuming that you're supposed to hold onto that envelope. I have no idea why."

She looked up at the rough rock wall, and thought, As long as I get out of this depressing marsh of a level, I'll CLIMB that wall if I have to.

Reena watched with awe as the images unfolded before her. First the bright orb, which she learned was a powerful shield from Yoshimitsu. Then the talking wild Pokemon, and finally the gifts it bestowed upon the three unfamiliar humans. Well, I am not sure if Yoshimitsu can be considered a human… Reena thought stupidly towards herself, hugging Chikorita with a strange sense of love.

All these event sparked some much needed vitality into the young woman’s tired body, and in which she shown it by standing up in a tall and proud fashion. She took a good look at the tall entrance closed to the ceiling, and her mind whirled around for a couple of seconds.

“Does Rita have enough energy to get up there?”

Kahirit’s sudden question broke her concentration, and she quickly snapped back to her reality. Looking down at the small Pokemon in her arms, she replied instantly, “I don’t think so… at least not with Vine Whip.” She let Rita jump onto the cavern floor, and the two moved towards the edge of the shield.

Taking a deep breath, Reena closed her eyes. I hope I do not regret doing this, she thought as she walked outside of the shield, without any accompaniment other then Rita. The two wearied partners walked towards the wall, not aware of the ever-diminishing light.

“Rita, I need you to be strong here, okay?” Reena kneeled down to her small Pokemon, gently rubbing the small leaf on her head. The Grass Type nodded with determination and energy, which inevitably drew a bright smile on her trainer’s face. I am so proud of you, Rita.

“Alright, try a Leech Seed over there.”

The small Chikorita waved her leaf overhead, and numerous small beads of seeds bombarded the rich soil, magically sinking into the ground. “Okay, good job. Now use Ingrain.” Reena paused for a second, wondering if she issued the right commands. Rita closed her eyes as a luring aroma showered out from her. The neckles of small seeds around her glowed in bright green, alarmingly lighting up the cave as the seeds started to grow in an frightening speed.

The power of nature was not kept away, even in such deep levels of the earth. The vines grew along side of the tall wall, spiraling in-and-out of the wall for support. Leaves, creepers and twigs poked outwards, granting the three humans much room to climb up. Reena looked onto her Pokemon, feeling immense surge of happiness at what she just accomplished. The tired Grass type sighed as her trainer picked her up once again, and rested easily in Reena’s arms.

“Come on, Kahiri, I hope you don’t mind a little climbing.” Reena positioned her skirt in a well-fashioned manner, guarantying no unwanted eyes can peek in. She lead the group, and slowly journeyed upwards…

Still neglecting the thick envelope that lay upon the dirt ground, Kahiri looked up at the vines, and laughed out loud. Well, I did say that I would climb... she mused, and followed directly behind Reena. Juroi leaped with practiced caution onto his trainers shoulders, his plushie paws latching onto her bandana and shirt fabric.

She scaled the rock wall quickly, groping ever upwards for the next vine to take hold of. There came a moment when she was worried that Yoshi wouldn't take the thick container, but she felt that he ought to have detected the feeling same as he. She wasn't sure what the three titles of Discoverer, Partner, and Protector meant, but she had a feeling that Yoshimitsu was the Protector.

As she rose level with, then above the revolting smog, she groaned loudly. The first breath of air that wasn't soil-tinted was marvelous, and by the way Juroi had purred with pleasure, he agreed. Once they mounted the cavern's edge, she looked down, and wasn't surprised to see fog, fog, and more fog below her. She shook her head in good-riddance, then turned to her new surroundings. Reena was doing like-wise, and Juroi jumped down to catch the area's scents.

The passage was narrow, only five feet wide, and stout also, the ceiling being only two feet above her head. The tunnel was resonalby warmer, and much less humid. The smooth rock walls seemed almost TOO perfect, and they carried no hint of dampness.

A pleasent breeze riffled through the trainer's sweat-soaked, limp hair, and she let out a sigh of contentment. She cast her eyes down to Juroi, who was intently sniffing a Treeko footprint in the firm, loose soil. Much better. Kahiri approved. Right before Kuroi rammed headfirst into her.

It was lucky that he did. The next second the very same Treeko performed a crazed Slam from where it had been latched ot the ceiling. It shot to its feet with uncanny speed, only to be met by Kuroi, his hackles raised.

Then (of course) yet another issue occured. A second Pokemon took shape in the fairly-lit passageway, skidding to a stop right before Reena. It's odd-shaped head immited a few threatening sparks, and its speedy dog body shot forward toward the other girl trainer. It was an Electrike.

The two were forced back-to-back, with Kahiri protected by Juroi, and Reena being approached angrily by the electric-dog Pokemon.

"Ah. Of course." Kahiri muttered bitterly, at the same time feeling a sense of respect for the dedicated Treeko. Then an idea struck her. If it was beatable, then she would love to have such a harrying team-mate.

"Iron Tail, Juroi!" she called, watching the already-gray tail gain a dangerous sheen.

As the Treeko lashed out with a wild Pound attack, raising its suction-paws down on the Eevee's head, he brought the deadly tail around. It connected solidly with the grass Pokemon's head, and it stumbled in pain. Juroi wasted no time, taking the flinch as an opportunity to get in a rapid-fire Quick Attack.

It struck the Treeko in its stomach, and the two went flying into one of the stone walls. Kahiri took no notice of Reena's battle, so intent was she on her own. She watched sagely for a sign of exhaustion from the grass-lizard, a Pokeball in hand.

Now the two rivaling Pokemon were down to trading Quick Attacks, each ramming the other coldly. Before long, the Treeko had been reduced to all fours, still ready to fight. Juroi was wobbling, perilously close to defeat, and then he took a risk. He rose his sensitive nose into the air, and the ground began to shake beneath his paws. Then a mighty piece of stone rose seemingly out of nowhere, trembling on invisible restraints.

The Eevee finally released the Secret Power, and the stone hurtled unchecked towards the Treeko. It quickly sent out a vine to catch the boulder, but had no time in the close quarters. It took the blow with only slight cushioning, flying backwards with the elemental weight. It fought its way to its feet, swaying like a drunken boxer.

Then, as if in slow motion, it fell to the earth floor, thumping slightly in the dust. Quickly, Kahiri threw the Pokeball at the Pokemon, it hit efforlessly since they were so close. It disappeared in a flash of white light, and shook the basic three times. Then it twitched once more as if the Treeko was saying that it wasn't staying by choice, then it beeped. Kahiri stumbled wearily over to the ball, and lifted it. Juroi glared at her as if he'd been betreyed, then snorted.

"Come on! It just needs the same treatment as Keitsu, then ya'll be partners."

Juroi frowned wolfishly at her than sat down. He culed his tail daintily around his feet, and began to clean himself. Kahiri sat and marveled at how her Pokemon showed no weariness--even though she knew how tired he was.

That's it. she decided with sickness. Everyone--perhaps with the exception of Yoshimitsu--was exhausted. Therefore, she was going to rest. Without looking over at the older trainer she declared.

"That's it. We need sleep--badly too. Me and Juroi are going to take a rest. Getting attacked in our sleep can't be any worse than getting attacked with close-to-dead Pokemon."

And with that she laid down, using her pack as a pillow. Juroi curled up in the curve of her stomach, and the two companions fell asleep within the minute.

Arriving to a darkened hallway, the tired girl hugged the Grass Pokemon closer to her chest, while the duo examined the cavern walls. This section seems to be every neat, almost artificial. Reena recalled on the articles she read about rock formation inside caves, and many sculptural changes humans can create.

A sudden noise rang through the narrow passageway as Reena spun around, wondering what was going on. Everything registered all too well, as she got the image of a wild Treecko fighting against Kahiri’s black Eevee. Just as Reena was ready to call on Kitsune to help her human companion out, she realized she was not safe either.

A small electric-hound stalked the narrow channel to the unknown side of Meteor Falls, and it growled with an intimidating tone. Rita readied herself in the arms of Reena, well prepared to protect her trainer and battle against the wild Pokemon – despite on her current tired state. However, the girl held her precious Pokemon back, restricting the small Grass type in her arms. “No, Rita.” She argued against her Pokemon, “Those vines you conjured tired you out too much.” The small Chikorita seemed to reasoned back with small cries, but Reena quickly sent out the well-rested Kitsune. Rita pouted with some leftover energy, watching the small fox taking her position in the battle.

“Get rid of it now, Roar!” Reena had it – she fell inside the miserable for too many times, not to mention numerous Pokemon has been trying to kill her. All of her Pokemon, with the exception of Kitsune, became wearied and too exhausted to continue. Her own weak limbs barely had enough strength to carry her petite frame.

Kitsune did not want it any other way, and followed the commands of her trainer without doubt. She rolled back her rested head and inhaled a great deal of oxygen – then, in a well balanced manner of loudness and longevity – Kitsune unleashed her Roar. Reena and Rita instinctively cared to their ears, screening away the repetitive echoing of the Vulpix’s Roar attack. The small lightning hound doubled-back with a flash, leaving Reena and her Pokemon with some peace and quietness.

Reena was too tired to congratulate or thank her Pokemon for the great safe, nor did she have enough strength to give Kahiri a wearied thumbs-up. With a small sigh, Reena easily slid down to the cavern ground, not caring about her dirtied white-shirt as she rested her ‘broken’ bones. The exhausted girl quickly fell into a much-needed lap, as Kitsune stalked the hallway for any unwanted intruders…

OOC- Backtracking a bit.

"Right, I'll take it," Yoshimitsu said, lowering the barrier briefly. He walked over to the envelope, and lifted it off the ground, reading the three terms.
"The Flaming Discoverer... The swimming partner... The grassy protector..." He thought. "If I'm the preotector, why the heck am I 'grassy'?"

He turned around to find the others gone.
"God dammit..." He muttered. "I turn away for a few minutes, and find them wandering off again..." He ran into the fog, and soon found them, climbing a wall. Upon closer examination, they were climbing vines on the wall that could not have been there before.

"Leech Seed... Clever," Yoshimitsu said thoughtfully. He hopped into the air, ascending at a much faster rate than the girls. Within seconds, he had reached the top, and was trying to help the girls get up.

"What the..." He said, stopping dead.

*****

"Geez... This cave must have some energy sapping thing going on," he said, sitting down. He concentrated briefly, and threw up another barrier around his companions who were now both asleep. Mudkip hopped off his shoulder, and ran to help Kitsune.

Yoshimitsu raised his hand, teleporting in a cup of Costa Coffee and a stack of varying sandwiches. He raised the coffee to his lips, and sipped it, teleporting some milk and sugar into it, and stirring it.
"Much better..." He muttered, downing it now that it was a suitable temperature. He could already feel the caffeine and sugar rushing to his bloodstream. He snatched up a sandwich, and crammed it into his mouth.

He was halfway through his second sandwich when something caught his eye. He turned his head, on his feet already, and ran out of the barrier, the barrier sealing itself again.

It was a Sandshrew, and it looked pretty beaten up. Yoshimitsu recognised its marks. It was the Sandshrew he had noticed earlier. It was clearly in a lot of pain, but it didn't seem care. It had an agressive look on its face. Yoshimitsu sighed.

"Are you sure that you want to do this?" He said. The Sandshrew just let out a shrill "SHREW!"

"Well, if you insist..." Yoshimitsu said. Mudkip ran forwards, preparing for battle. Yoshimitsu nodded.

"One last chance to back out," Yoshimitsu said. He dropped his voice. "Mudkip, don't attack until I say... Just dodge, try to tire him." Mudkip nodded, and stood in a defensive position.

Sandshrew lunged at Mudkip. Yoshimitsu recognised the move. It was a Scratch attack. As soon as Sandshrew was close enough, it tried to slash at Mudkip. Mudkip, however, was ready for this. He dived to the side, dodging the attack, and rolled over, so that he was behind Sandshrew.

"Double team!" Yoshimitsu said. Mudkip nodded, and suddenly, over a dozen Mudkips filled the area. Sandshrew looked around, trying to decide which Mudkip was the real one. He turned, and lunged at the closes one. However, it fizzled out, leaving a very tired looking Sanshrew.

"Sandshrew, just give up, I'll make sure you're ok!" Yoshimitsu said, sounding concerned. Sandshrew ignored him, and lunged at another Mudkip, which vanished. And another. And another. All copies.

"Sandshrew, you're going to hurt yourself if you keep this up," Yoshimitsu said. Sandshrew lunged again, but this Mudkip jumped out of the way. It was the real one. Sandshrew spun on the spot, ripped a piece of earth up, and threw it at Mudkip. Mudkip hopped over the attack.

"Mudkip... Water Gun," Yoshimitsu said, sounding almost... sad. Mudkip nodded, and blasted out a surge of water at Sandshrew, who hit the wall, and was forced against it when Mudkip continued. After a few seconds, Mudkip stopped, and Sandshrew fell to the ground, defeated.

"I'm sorry I had to do that," Yoshimitsu said, throwing a pokeball at the Sandshrew. It sucked in the ground type, and shook three times. Yoshimitsu picked it up, and attached it to his belt. He went back and settled down, teleporting in more coffee.

Then closer you are, to the land of mist,
Once enshrouded by fog, three names you must list.
First is the one descended from all.
Second is the one who travels through time.
The third, the sea, is where he comes from,
though he can breathe freely, up in the sky.

Then closer you are, to the land of mist,
Once enshrouded by fog, three names you must list.

The third, the sea, is where he comes from,

The voices wouldn't stop now, swirling in Kahiri's head obnoxiously. She awoke some time later, stiff but refreshed, to see Yoshimitsu drinking a cup of coffee. Without thought she stood and croaked,

"Could you make some more?" in a cracked voice.

Rubbing sleep from her eyes and limbering up, she eyed the thick envelope in the man's hand. She didn't care to know what was in them, nor did she believe that they wouldn't need them. She stood next to Yoshimitsu, and recited the next two lines of the Pokemon-riddle.

"Then closer you are, to the land of mist,
Once enshrouded by fog, three names you must list."

She muttered, looking hard into the passageway's depths. She couldn't see any fog, but figured that they wold soon enough. The too-smooth ground felt solid under her feet, much better than the cursed marsh below.

To pass the time, she released her new Pokemon, the Treeko, and crouched down to his height. The green lizard looked doubtful for a minute, then clung shyly to her leg--startling her neatly. She smiled and christened the Treeko 'Taein'.

Kuroi was sleeping soundly, making up for all the energy he'd wasted fighting.

OOC-REALLY short, I know...but I needed to let ya'll know the next line, and wait for reacions. (even though Reena was lying down, she could be awake, or something^.^;)

"Three names you must list, eh?" Yoshimitsu said, teleporting in another cup of coffee. He also teleported in a jar of sugar and a carton of milk, in case Kahiri wanted her coffee sweet and milky. "Which part's the land of mist then? Was that where we just were? Well, whatever. The sooner we figure out what's going on, the better."

Yoshimitsu reached to his belt, and pulled up his newly occupied pokeball, releasing the Sandshrew he had just caught.

"Sandshrew..." He muttered, teleporting in some more food, some pokemon-food and a few Potions. Sandshrew had really taken a beating. First, before he had found him, he assumed one of his companions had beaten him. The second, a super-effective hit by a trained Mudkip. It was no wonder that the pokemon was asleep. He lifted one of the potions, and sprayed Sandshrew's wounds. The pokemon was fast asleep, so it didn't notice the potion being sprayed.

"It tried to fight again," Yoshimitsu explained. "I didn't want to hurt him, so I caught him. If he had been left alone, he'd probably have been killed by another pokemon."

Mudkip walked over just as Sandshrew woke up, feeling much better. He gazed at Yoshimitsu, and said his name quietly as a 'Thank You', before joining Mudkip, eating some of the pokemon food.

The two small Pokemon guarded their asleep trainer from the natural darkness, stalking up and down the narrow passageway. Kitsune kept a dubious glance on the boy, as she did not trust the human. Rita took her laps around the entrance, mindlessly fluttering with the leaf over her head.

Reena slept peacefully, dreaming of the nothingness. Miraculously, she kept her back straight up against the smooth wall, while her skirt curved around her folded legs. All of the commotion around her did not wake the tired trainer, nor did she hear the important riddle provided by Kahiri.

“Then closer you are, to the land of mist,
Once enshrouded by fog, three names you must list.”

Kitsune traveled ahead into the darkness of the passageway, feeling a presence beyond the impenetrable darkness. She did not wandered too far off before she turned back, not wanting to leave her trainer alone with the suspicious boy. The small Vulpix gave a lasting glance to the presence behind the darkness, and swayed her tails as she journeyed back…

Pouring most of the sugar and cream into her coffee cup, Kahiri drained it. As energy filled her body in the form of caffiene, she sighed.

"I think that the mist lies ahead. I also get the feeling that it's not coincidence that there are three of us, three people on the list, and three names that need to be listed in the riddle." she finally said, stroking the Treeko as he hid behind her.

Odd that he acts shy, now that I've defeated him. she thought musefully, watching Reena sleep peacefully.

"All I know is that the voices want us to hurry. They won't leave me alone."

Her voice was hushed as she eyed the 'protector', then she laughed. After such wild events that had occured, the sound was strange and new to her.

"Why--w-would it call y-y-y-ou grassy?" she snorted.

After the bout of laughter had died down, she took on a serious tone again.

"I don't know...am I the discoverer?" she asked, looking to the older boy for support.

Her bandana was loose, so she pulled the knot tied again, then looked down to the marshy view below.

"Is it just me, or do the Pokemon here almost seem to want to be caught?" she haltingly asked, hoping that the idea wasn't to ludicrous.

But Taein's sudden change in attitude seemed to support the theory, as well as the Sandshew's harrying attacks. She looked down the passageway once more then polished off the little bit of coffee left in her mug. Feeling a pull towards the cave's depths, she hefted her backpack onto her shoulders, as if to say "Let's go."

Reena, feeling as if the very world has turned up side down, suddenly felt bouts of dizziness. A pang in her stomach jump-started the poor girl, yet the pang was not exactly welcomed at this time of the adventure. Finding herself laying against the warmed cavern wall, Reena found that it proved to be artificial – yet it cannot be artificial enough, unfortunately, to compare with the human invention of a bed.

The sweet aroma of coffee lazily lifted the lingering pain, even though Reena found no interest in the dark liquid. Her faithful Pokemon, Kitsune and Rita, leaped towards their trainer, like small children toward their mother, and cried out with joy. The inexperienced trainer cannot help to smile at this, welcoming the two with open arms. The others noted at Reena’s awakening, yet they did not bother to break the adoring scene up.

After some while, Kahiri’s brisk voice echoed through the small passageway. Now well-rested, both Reena and her Pokemon stood powerfully tall, at least spiritually, and was determined to follow Kahiri, and hopefully get out of this wretched place.
