View Full Version : The Legends
Skyr sighed. It was true that the sun was out, bathing the surrounding trees in a golden light, and the friendly forest sounds should've been enough to put anyone in an upbeat mood. But the fourteen-year-old trainer didn't show the slightest indication that he was in the least bit content.
As a group of Pigdey fluttered about playfully in a nearby elm tree, the trainer cursed. His silvery hair fell uncomfortably in his face, hiding his muddled gray eyes. The white cloth that he had tied to his forehead to prevent this was around his neck, having slipped down.
His loose gray tee-shirt, decorated with a peculiar black insignia, flapped slightly in the breeze. His khaki shorts went just below his knees, and his white tennis shoes were covered in a slight coat of dust. His light brown Pokeball belt was slung low on his hip, holding two Pokeballs.
The reason that the new Pokemon trainer prodigy was in such an icy mood was the fact that he was dangling, tied, to the branch of an oak tree.
"Perfect." he muttered irritably, flailing wildly in his ropes.
The ropes were tied to the tree's branch, hung down about three feet, then wrapped themselves around the teenager, holding him high above the grassy ground. The trainer struggled to reach one of the Pokeballs, but the thick bonds pinned his arms firmly to his sides.
How on earth did I get into this mess? he thought to himself, swaying in the steady winds.
The prodigy had captured his first Pokemon without the help of anyone else, having fought it himself for hours on end, and felt inclined to be ashamed of falling into such a ridiculous trap. But, try as he might, Skyr couldn't recall even the slightest indication that the snare had been there. One minute he had been walking casually through the homely forest, and the next he was hanging from the tree.
Noticing the Pidgey, he came up with a crazy plan. Without warning, he shouted at them, startling them out of their roosts. As they called out loudly, Skyr cringed at the noise. Surely any trainers nearby would believe that a strong Pokemon had disturbed the bird-like Pokemon. He could only hope, as he watched the Pidgey spiral upwards into the air.

Alright, sorry for the delay in this. It should not be this long in delays when I reply from now on. I just tend to have a tendency to join new topics for some reason. *blush* I guess that is just how I am. If there is anything that I need to change within this post, just let me know in some way so that I can edit it for flow best with the story you have in your mind.

The light breeze sent gusts of dust scattering across the dirt road. Each patch chasing the others in pursuit for the treasures they may hold dear. Swearing this way and that, in a never ending dance, they intermingled and moved about in this land that they knew; this land that they were familiar with. But to Gibby, this land was foreign, unforgiving, and barren.
There were trees around, quite the abundance of them really, but they acted independently in the wind. Each one had their own personality, and it seemed like they refused to acknowledge the existence of the rest.
The brilliant sun stood aloft in the sky, sending her warmth and light down upon this forsaken land. For some reason, in Gibby’ mind, he thought that this place would have had more of an impact during the night, where you had trouble seeing, and the light of the moon was all there was to guide you.
But he did not want to experience that at this time. He was heading in this direction in pursuit of the next town. He had been traveling for some time, and he was sure that he bypassed a few towns back there, but he was here now, and worrying about the past was not going to help him that much in this current time. He reached casually into his pant picket and rustled through the contents within for a few moments, until the look on his face shown that he found what it was he was looking for.
He pulled out a roughly rankled, a battered and warn out map of the land. It was one of the items Gibby brought with him from home, and it showed that to an effect. He unfolded, revealing the land they were in, every town, every road; it even included a short list of the most commonly found Pokémon within indicated arias. But he was not on a Pokémon hunting trip so he ignored all of that information for the time being.
Gibby looked at the map, taking glance at his approximation as to where he was and how far it was to the next town, or even the possibility of going back to a previous town if it proved to be a shorter rout, but none showed promise and thus forward was the most logical choice.
He folded up the map once again and stuffed it back into his pocket. He stood aloft for a short time, listening to the only sound that could be heard from the breeze rushing by with quick ease. He felt cold for some reason though the sun beat down on him like a hammer on a nail. He thought that he could use some company and reached to one of his three PokéBall’s attached to his belt under his oversized t-shirt. Each one was the same, yet different in their own right.
Gibby grabbed the one furthest back on the belt and dropped it to the ground. The sound of the ball hitting the dirt road spread like a wildfire in this forsaken land. Gibby took a quick glance around to make sure that it did not attract any unwanted attention. When he returned his attention to his PokéBall, it had already done its normal ritual when it released that which it held within. His newly aquired member of his team stood in front of him, looking this way and that with eager eyes as if to ask ‘where are we?’
Gibby reached down and picked up the ball, closing it and placed it back upon his belt, in the same place so that he would remember where it was. He looked down at his friend, and reached down to pat it between the two antennas like things atop its head. “Ele,” it said lightly as Gibby continued with this. He could feel a slight tingle coming from his Elekid, and he was sure it was from the electrical charge that surged through this Pokémon with ease.
Gibby spent a great deal of time working with her, but she was not one that liked to fight. She fought when it proved to have no other choice, but only then and normally it was too late at that time. She had a great power, Gibby knew of this for he has seen it several times, but getting to that power was the difficult part. He was not going to try and force that power out, for then it would not be natural, organic but remote and forced; not the way you want attacks to be.
Gibby stood up again and looked in to the distance; a few trees here and there along the road and a line of them just off the road indicating the edge of the forest. “Well Elekid, the only way is forward, so that is our destination. Ready?”
Elekid nodded in agreement and they both, side by side, headed into the distant unknown.
It was several hours of walking when Gibby caught sight of the first sign of life other then Elekid and himself. Flocks of Pidgey were spiraling upwards from a central point. Gibby remembered this sort of dance. It was the dance that any bird Pokémon did when they were startled from their rusting place. Gibby could assume that there was another Pokémon there that did this, and since he had little action during this trip, he thought that it would be interesting to at least get a glimpse. If he recognized it he could even mark if off the list he has been making on the Pokémon he has seen.
He reached down and patted Elekid once again, giving her the indication to go slowly and make no sound. Elekid seemed to acknowledge this gesture and slowly approached behind him.
Gibby look around from behind this tree and that, making sure that he would not disturb that which disturbed those Pidgey previously. But he was not sure on where it was, for he was unsure himself on where that central point was, so he moved with caution.
Eventually he came to this one tree. It looked like any other tree, but something was different about this one. Gibby took a step out from his hiding place to make sure he was seeing things with a clear eye. Elekid still followed behind, hiding from whatever it might be that her master saw.
Gibby looked upon the tree and there, within the branches all tied together, bound like a capture Pokémon, a teenager was. Gibby was not sure on what to say, or what to think really. The teenager was slightly younger then himself, thought he approximate age could not be determined. Gibby just stared up at the young lad with his hazel eyes, until finally he mustered up enough to ask, “Well, this is peculiar. Is there anything that I can do to help?”
OOC-Sorry for such a short post, just wanted to get things going for the rest of the RP. No better way than to fight, eh? ^.^
Blinking down at the trainer that had just acknowledged him, Skyr sighed in relief. Squinting in the sun's glare, he took notice of the boy's Pokemon. An Elekid, he told himself. Smiling as best he could in his situation, he looked into the trainer's hazel eyes, and sheepishly replied,
"Well, I could use a hand down. seems that I walked into some kind of trap."
Before the other trainer could respond, a loud call sliced through the air. Without warning, a pair of Scyther sprang from a nearby bush, engaged in a battle--it seemed. However, as soon as they caught sight of the peculiar spectacle before them, they halted. In front of them was one boy, swaying to and fro from a tree, and a rather bemused trainer standing in front of him.
"Well," muttered Skyr as the two lunged at them, "this is interesting."

Yes, I can understand. I must be different then most people though for I do not join RPs for the battle, but the story in them.
And on another note, Scyther can only be caught within the Safari Zone thread that is stickied at the top of this RP section. For that reason, I will offer this suggestion. We can fight them, but we cannot capture, that is if the Admins are willing to allow that. I will go ahead and post my reply, but I will need to talk with someone about this situation before it goes any further.

The swooshing sound of the breeze through the leaves of the tree settled into Gibby’s mind as he looked up at this trainer he acknowledged. He grew accustom to that sound, and grew to like this place he was in. It still felt barren to him somehow, but there really was nothing he could do about that.
But his feeling changed when a rushing sound, rustling through brush, came louder then the rustling leaves. The sound of something, or someone, was coming closer to Gibby and this others trainers location. It did not sound that big but not that small either. To Gibby, it sounded like something that was swift, knew its way around this aria.
Then, from some of the brush, two Pokémon, both the same, stood in front of Gibby and this other trainer. Their green bodies blended well with the surrounding, and they stood there, mocking and flashing their twin sword hands. They glared at the two trainers, as if they had trespassed on some sacred land.
"Well," muttered Skyr as the two lunged at them, "this is interesting."
Gibby stood still, looking at the Pokémon in front of them, staring them down and watching for any movement from them. They showed no movement, just staring and glaring. Gibby slowly moved his right hand to his belt, and grabbed a hold of the PokéBall that closest to the front. I dropped it behind, hopping that neither of the Scyther would notice.
As the ball slammed to the ground, one of the Scyther jittered forward, thrashing its wings roughly behind him to thrust himself forward with intense speed. He glared at Gibby, and Gibby glared back, not willing to show the fear he was feeling.
Then Hoppip, Gibby’s trustworthy companion, leaped from behind and stood next to her trainer. The Scyther stood its ground, and out of the corner of its eye, watch Hoppip with every move that she made.
“Hoppip, I have a friend up in the tree. I need you too get him down for me.” Gibby whispered to her. The Scyther showed no sign of hearing this, or understanding if he did. Hoppip seemed to understand perfectly well, and leaped into the air, allowing the breeze to catch and carry her beyond the tree, in the opposite direction of the Scyther.
She grabbed a hold of some tall weeds before she was swung into the air and carried away from this place. She then swung the two green leaves atop her head and several Razor Leaves came barreling towards the tree. The two Scyther stared in wonderment as if they were watching to see what happened next.

Alright, I have talked with Salamence-trainer221 and he said that it would be fine for us to continue battling the two Scyther, as long as neither of us try to capture them, since they can only be caught within the Safari Zone.
Normally I would just post this is the same post as above, since I can edit it, but then it would not notify that there is new information, so I have posted a second post. I am sorry about that.
Feel free to post whenever you feel like Skyr. I am quite patient.
