Whats the next Pokemon video game?

Does anyone know whats the next Pokemon Game Boy game?

Its not on gameboy, its on the DS... Diamond and Pearl... out later this year, we know very little about them though... Any news we get will appear in the news section however... =)

Not quite true. There are at least 3 games that will come out before Diamond and Pearl.

Pokemon Torozei -- don't quote me on the spelling. This is a puzzle game involving Pokemon. I'm not completely sure on the other details.
Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon Red and Blue -- One of these is for the GBA, the other is for the DS. They work together on the DS to make a better gaming experience. You are a Pokemon working to save other Pokemon from natural disasters and poachers and the like.

I've heard rumors about a Pokemon Ranger game, but nothing definitive.

Pokemon ranger has been confirmed has it not? I'm sure Pokecharms have something on it. Either way '06 is gonna be a hell of a year for pokemon ^^

Yes, Ranger is already confirmed and is already in progress of being made. But really, all I want are some damn D&P screens. -__-""

The official Pokemon of Japan website has pages for all of those games minus Diamond/Pearl thus far - including Ranger (http://www.pokemon.co.jp/game/ds/ranger.html). Ranger might not have much revealed on it yet, but unlike D/P it DOES have a few screen shots revealed, a long with a basic plot and game play details, including info about its new Pokemon-controlling function. (Edit: Correction. CoroCoro revealed the basic plot and game play stuffness. It seems the website has yet to update with it).

Anyways, just adding to what the others said:

Pokemon Trozei - Out in Japan already and slated for North American release March 6th, 2006. Only on DS.
Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon: Red/Blue Rescue Force - Both out in Japan already but no NA release date given yet.
Ranger - Has yet to be given a Japanese release date aside from "2006". Again, only on DS.
D/P - Both on DS. We know next to nothing about them, aside from a few random tidbits (ie. no new Pokemon types will be included but new type combos will; said to have "lots" of new Pokemon, including evos/pre-evos of older Pokemon; will use every function of the DS it can; will be able to go online for Battling/Trading; and a few other random things). Truthfully, all this info is great but until I see the screen shots I won't be satisfied... Heck, who am I kidding? Once I actually see the screen shots I'll be dying to play those games even more... >.>

Btw - I'm starting to think this basic info about the 2006 Pokemon games should be in the frequently asked questions thread.

I've heard rumors about a 2006 Japanese release of D/P, with a possible 2007 American release.

Just going off what I've seen so far, I'll hypothesize as to the release dates of the remaining games.

Trozei - Jpn - already out; US - 3-6-06
Dungeon - Jpn - already out; US - summer 2006
Ranger- Jpn - spring/summer 2006; US - fall/winter 2006
D/P - Jpn - fall/winter 2006; US - spring/summer 2007

Again, just by the information presented, these are my guesses as to the release dates for the various games...

Quite frankly, I think that Dungeon and Ranger will be better games than D/P, just looking at preliminary storylines, gameplay arenas, and screenshots.

No way, they will be different but you can't say that they will be better. Diamond and Pearl are real pokemon games, they are to Ruby and Saphire what Gold and Silver were to R/B. Dungeon and Ranger will no doubt be cool but they aren't proper pokemon games like the RPG series.
