SwingBlade felt the essence of life in the world cry, ever so shortly. He furrowed his brow, knowing what it meant: Somone had died before their time. He felt the surge of psychic nausea that the world felt, thanks to his link with it. After a moment he recovered, and sent his mind into the world's consciousness. He found the location, and wasted no time 'walking there. He looked around, and saw the man's corpse, and saw a small char marking on the floor, which appeared to have been contained preternaturally.

SwingBlade focussed his consciousness, delving into the depths of vileness. His physical stomach churned, and he vomitted. He groaned, wiping off his mouth, and tried again. He thought back to the bowels of hell he had been forced into so many years ago, of the dead that walked. He recalled the dark powers that lay dormant within his soul, long repressed by his link with life. He summoned up foul, black mana, and feeling it tear at his soul, he infused the corpse with the energy. The last drop of mana gone from Swing's body, he dropped to his knee momentarily, and watched as the corpse stood. It looked around unintelligibly, eyes clouded with cataracts. SwingBlade stood, and looked at the zombie. Without saying a word, he extracted the final thoughts of the creature's life, getting fractured segments of a woman, how she came in so recklessly, saw a brief glimpse of the artifact in question, and felt the pain of the creature as its natural life was ended prematurely.

Done with the creature, SwingBlade frowned. He filled his soul with pure energy, his mind going back to his childhood home. He felt the radiance of the sun as it shone down on the fields of grain that his family had raised. He was infused with white mana, and he pumped this into the corpse. There was a guttural shriek, and the creature fell, lifeless once more. He set out, then, looking for this woman called 'Diamond'. He sent out a mental beacon, the subliminal level of reality shrieking out, "DIIIIAAAMOND!!!!" He waited for his summons to be answered.

At the instant his call was answered, SwingBlade knew the woman's location. With less effort than a thought, he blinked from existence, reappearing directly in Diamond's path. He sent out tracers of white magic, intended to ensnare her, immobilizing her.

"Why did you kill that man? What had he done, that his life was required of him? Answer well, as your own life hangs in the balance." SwingBlade had a very dire look in his eyes, and they flared with the magical energies that began to build behind them.

SwingBlade just smirked as she got riled up. He could feel her somehow feeding from the psychic energy from below, and decided to stifle it. In an act of speed that could only be achieved by one not bound by a physical body, he reached into his goody bag at his belt, and pulled out a small, dullish-gray stone. Diamond would feel no power within the stone. In fact, she would feel nothing in it whatsoever. It felt empty, and it worked to pull her thoughts into it. The mental energies from the people below were greedily devoured by the thing, and still it hungered. Diamond would feel her mind being pulled as well, and she would have to struggle to create complex thought, and as such, speech. SwingBlade, however, seemed largely unaffected.

"It's called a nullstone. It's tuned to draw in and nullify blue essences. Since most psychic energies are blue in origin, I think it'll do this job fine. Now, tell me, what do you mean he was playing 'god' with psionics? From what I could gather from his tattered mind, he was a broken man living in a run-down hovel. What was that blast mark in that building? I know it couldn't have come from him; he lacked the arcane and mental power to create such a blasst."

OOC: =( You just made everything I worked years to achieve utterly pointless. As a rule, teleportation is intra-planar. As you said you were a D&D freak, you should know this. To put SwingBlade in D&D terms, he has the spell-like ability to teleport at will, and cast plane shift at will. Though, he is a demigod, or could be feasibly arguable that he has a divine rank. Inasmuch, please don't demure my character's hard-earned abilities with something that isn't feasible to begin with. Thanks.

BIC: SwingBlade frowned. She had disappeared, but he had her mental signature. She may be a powerful psionic, but she lacked discipline, and her mind cried out through the subliminal world. The man sighed, and decided to track her silently. His skull seemed to cast a burning glow for a moment, as the crown that had ignited his spark began to be active. Soon, his thoughts had completely vanished. He set out on his task, running on his internal objective alone.

Seriously though, SwingBlade is from a different generation of pokeschoolers, his character is one of the oldest on the boards. The powers he has were built up over many years, they are well deserved in my opinion.

OOC: LOB, your quickness to give up distresses me. Firstly, good roleplay could easily have resolved the situation. Of course he came at you, demanding your life. He's powerful, but not omniscient. He's not perfect; on the contrary, his great power makes him even more prone to error. The 'do something even if it's wrong' concept.

Nextly, his artifacts. The man has an ishload of artifacts, LOB. I frankly don't have the time to list them out =/

Finally, there's the matter of the corpse. If you'll look back on your own post, you'll notice that you did indeed tell the man your name, but not your reason for killing him. It would be severe metagaming for me to assume I knew your motives.

All in all, you have some potential, but you're not going to get anywhere if you abandon a thread when it doesn't go your way. The trademark of a good roleplayer is adaptability. And yes, though I only have 100-something posts here, I had well over 1000 on the original boards. Unfortunately, they didn't transfer over.

OOC: Question: If you play by the D&D rules for reading thoughts that are only at the forefront of a mind, how were you able to extract all of that information form that man? His mind was indubitably paralyzed with fear, as you yourself described him of no mental prowess. I must say, I've lost all desire to continue this topic. If you wish, try again when you have more experience. In the meantime, I have convinced Silumas to come back to play with me. You should take notes from him, as he is one of the best roleplayers I've ever had the privilege of knowing all of my life.

As far as threatening your character, you show your nubbishness by saying such things. Learn to be a versatile RPer, and you will be able to RP/BS your way out of almost anything.

You guys, stop NOW. :mad: LoB, you crossed the line with that last comment, Swingblade stop patronizing him. Sure, he's somewhat new to the boards, but saying 'cute' when he's trying to prove a point is rude and obnoxious. I know I have no power on these boards other than to say my opinion, but this arguing is getting no where positive very fast.
