This was on the old boards, but I figured it not only would do well with being talked about again on the new boards, but also there might be new people who would LOVE to know about it.

Don't know how to get that elusive moveset? Can't get a Shuckle because you don't have colosseum and the e-cards for Fire Red and LEaf Green will never come out? Want to get just one Shiny pokemon, but don't want to spend your granddaughter's wedding trying to find one? Want a Celebi so bad, but because you don't live in Japan you figure you won't ever get one? Well don't worry, because the Pokemon Maker comes to your rescue!
In order to use it, you WILL need a gameshark, Action replay, or whatever cheat device in order to use it. Now, the pokemon maker has a button just below the code box that allows you to choose what cheat device you want the codes for. Virtually ANY device can be used for ANY game! Yep! If all you have is the gameshark V 1.2 or whatever, and you have Fire Red, this will produce codes for that! The problem, however, is that in order for the pokemon to be "yours" you NEED to find out the secret trainer ID of your trainer, and in order to do that, you might need access to a newer version of your cheat device. I don't know the rules for the new board, but I assume we're not allowed to directly link to sites with codes, so in order to find the code yourself for your game of choice, you're gonna have to go to a GAME site with FAQS and that site will have your code for you. you know.... that GAME site with FAQS...

Anyway once you get your Secret Trainer ID, you can use the Pokemon maker to make any pokemon you want from scratch. you can govern any and all attributes from what pokemon it is, what level you found it, what level it is, what it's IVs are (although the maker calls them DVs) Even what EVs it has and in what stat! You can even choose what ribbons or contest attributes you want it to have! Keep in mind though, when giving EVs, you can ONLY give a maximum of 510. You CAN give it 255 Evs in every stat, HOWEVER, if you choose to play Colosseum, the game will not allow you to use that pokemon. you CANNOT give more than 510 EVs to any pokemon. If you do not have Colosseum, and never plan to play it, or it's potential sequel, then give 255 EVs to every stat, because the gameboy game itself doesn't check for that, and link battles don't prevent that pokemon from being used either. (at least between Ruby and Saphire, I can't speak for Fire Red or Leaf Green or the upcoming Emerald) I do have colosseum, so I never give more than 510 ever.

There's also an interesting side note:

you MUST create a whole pokemon from scratch, you cannot just put down the moves you want and input the code because the pokemon maker doesn't add the information you are putting down in the slot you assigned, it's creating one right from scratch, you have to provide ALL the information. Including the Trainer Id, Secret Trainer Id and CORRECT spelling of your Trainer name. (caps and lower case exactly as shown)

But like I said, there's an interesting little side note, and that's that some of the information allows you to click a box and it gives you the code for that item separately. (Like Pokemon name, Trainer ID, etc) Which means that this info can be entered separately. for example, if you got a pokemon in trade, but you don't like it's name? Well then go to the pokemon maker, input a pokemon name, then click on the Code box right beside it, (Make sure you assigned what slot in what box you want it to appear in too. this is VERY important) and in the code box at the top it will give you a line of code. Input that code and EVERY pokemon you put into the slot of the box you assigned will have their name changed to whatever you decided. Other codes that have a separate box will work in the same way. Just be sure you pay attention to what Slot and what Box you're putting this information in for, because you don't want to accidentally screw up an already existing pokemon.

On last thing, if you do screw up, simply turn the game off without saving. No harm, no foul. As long as you don't save after a mistake has happened, nothing bad should happen to your game at all. (But remember, you ARE cheating, so use them at your own risk!) Anyway, here's the site! hope you all enjoy! oh and one for thing, I would like a favour since I posted this:

Can you tell me which Version to use for Fire Red or Leaf Green? Each one for the States as a V1.0 or V1.1 in front of it, and I don't know which one to use, it's not exactly very helpful in telling me which version I should be using. Can Anyone help? Thanks!

Here's the Site! Enjoy!

Gonna sticky this for now. Let any questions, answers etc be placed and then probably lock the topic, unsticky it and take your first post and put in the FAQ.

Handy to have it around for those that are such inclined.

Via this, would nintendo be able to tell you were cheating? Say if I went to a nintendo offical tournament, or to obtain an aruroa ticket ect. would they know that I had cheated all those pokemon on?

Thanks.

it depends on what you do. if you give a pokemon a move it shouldn't be able to learn, or if you made the found locations of the pokemon in a place or game that it can't normally be found, or if you give the pokemon more than 510 EVs in it's total stats, then yes Nintendo can tell you cheated. (IE, pay CLOSE attention to the locations you enter in for where you found the pokemon. don't JUST put the location of the pokemon, but also the game it was found in. But if you just put on the egg flag, then it doesn't matter, because an egg can hatch anywhere, so as long as it's a pokemon that CAN hatch from an egg, game/location info isn't that critical) and alos, if you give the pokemon more than 510 total EVS then nintendo will definitely be able to tell you cheated because even Pokemon Colosseum can tell if you cheated because pokemon with more than 510 EVs are not allowed to be used in Colosseum. Having said that, you CAN give perfect IVS to your pokemon because that is technically possible (although virtually impossible to actually get because of the millions of IV combinations) and therefore is allowed in colloseum therefore tournaments.

Basically if you cheat a plausible pokemon, nintendo won't find out because the programmed pokemon is exactly the same as a caught pokemon. As long as you stick by the moves it can learn and the EVs it can gain, you should be fine. There's no way to tell that a pokemon is cheated as long as the information lines up. (Ie, a Jirachi with your trainer ID and a name = cheated because that's not possible. oly pokemon from wshmkr named Jirachi and found in Pokemon Ruby: Fateful encounter with a secret trainer ID of 0 (don't remember wshmkr's trainer ID) are legit. anything else and Nintendo can tell that was fake.

I have a gameshark and I have been trying to use the pokemon maker but it hasn't been working. I have fire red. Can someone help me out with this? I'm not sure what I have to do. I can make the pokemon and all that but I don't know which game or version I have to select to get the right codes and I'm not sure how I'm supposed to put the codes in. Do I enter the everything from both sides or just the code from one side or the other?
Any help would be great!! Thanks.

you only enter teh codes from the top left box. the box on the right, I ahve no idea what the heck that is. Also, for fire red, you MUST MUST MUST use the DMA disable code for any pokemon you make to work (check gamefaqs. sorry, I can't post it here) as long as you pick Fire Red you should be okay. As for which version, that's tough. When did you buy your Fire Red? Mine is v1.0, but the onyl way to tell the difference between v1.0 and 1.1 is really to select a pokemon, input all the info, then put the code in for v1.0 (I would name the pokemon 1.0 just so in game there's no doubt) and then change the game to v 1.1 and then resubmit the codes and then put in THOSE codes and then load up each code separately in the game to find out which is which. Sorry I can't help much, but it is a complicated program, especially with Fire Red/Leaf Green because you need the extra DMA disable code. once you figure otu which version code works, then stick with that and you're on your way.

Ok, now, one more thing about this hole area. Say someone else cheated a celebi (which they have) gave it to me saying it was leagal and it isnt, and then say i got a cheat devise got the team on perfectly, then nintendo looked at it, would they say no because there is a cheated pokemon which isnt on my team and isnt obtainable? Sorry for the tricky question 8)

Thanks

Thanks for the help!!! It works for me:) Now all I need to do is find out where everything can be caught so they don't look fake.

Stonewall

well that's tough, actually. If it's a pokemon not obtainable, then yes, Nintendo will know it's fake regardless of the information you have on it (where it was found, what level it was found at, etc) but if you had a cheated pokemon but weren't using it in your team during a competition battle, no I personally don't think Nintendo would check, because nintendo would only check the pokemon you are using on your team, so if you had a celebi in a PC box that you weren't using they probably wouldn't say too much since you aren't using it. I mean, nintendo isn't gonna check through a potential 420 pokemon for each and every player of the hundreds of competitors just to find the one pokemon that was cheated (14 boxes X 30 pokemon in each box = 420) they are more than likely only gonna check the pokemon in your team(s).

Oh yeah, Lax, in addition to WHERE the pokemon is found, you should also pay note to what level it was found at. Cause finding a level 2 pokemon on a route with just level 15 - 20 pokemon, people are gonna know it's fake. Same with finding a level 50 pokemon on route 103 or something.

I know this was quite some time ago, but if you are wondering WISHMKR (in blue - male)(written exactly like that)'s Trainer ID, for me it is 20043. (Reserved sucky Colosseum and got my Jirachi the legit way ^_^)

I'm trying to make a Celebi from OT 'VOXFRST' (Voice of the Forest, y'know) - number '25104' (or whatever movie Celebi was from) that says it's a fateful encounter at level 5 - regardless of what game it was in. I tried it, and I ended up with a level 1 Celebi that said 'met in a trade'. I'm using AR v3 and Ruby.

How do I set teh options on Pokemon Maker to generate the right options?

Without the secret trainer ID then anything you create is going to be illegal unless it's set as an egg, which forces you to be it's original trainer.

You can't create an official Jirachi for instance even with the WISHMKR OT and 20043 ID because you need the secret ID, otherwise it looks like an official Jirachi, but it's fake, no? Isn't it the secret ID that Nintendo can use to tell if the Pokémon is real or not?

If a Pokémon with you as the OT and with your ID is receiving boosted exp, then it's obviously not yours. The Secret ID is necessary in a situation like that. The problem is how do you figure it out?

Sorry I have to bump this, but there's a new version of this out now for the Diamond/Pearl Versions.
It's called Pokesav, but since I can't send out the address I can just tell you to type this into your search engine:
pokesav english v. 038b
Works the same way as PK-maker, but it's an installable and you can alter anything in your game. Party pokes, PC boxes, wallpaper, treasures, spheres, money, items, whatever tickles your fancy.
Pretty interesting, I must say.

One question, I was reading that you had to transfer a save file to your computer or something like that, is that true?

PsychoWard13

To port it to your AR, you have to export it into an .xml file (Does automatically, click AR DS Output and check all wanted cheats) and then copy/paste the code onto the AR Code Manager. Fairly simple, really.

One more question, what's the code to view your secret id on pearL?

I can't find mine either, lol. So I just use random numbers and put in someone else's ID and a fake secret ID.

Sorry, I don't think there is one because RPG Maker VX is so new. I keep on trying to find one because I am using VX to try to make a game. If I find one I'll tell you.
