'Cause clearly it's needed.
OK, some ground rules I'd like EVERYONE to follow:
1) You are not better than someone at Pokemon simply because you use Netbattle. Playing Netbattle and knowing stupid names for various 'standard' movesets does not make you ANY better than anyone who doesn't. So no more of this elitist crap.
2) Pointing out bad combos in a moveset is obviously necessary, but saying "It has to be THIS, because THIS is the standard moveset that will make you win against everyone!!!1111!" is not. It's also bull****. The point of Pokemon is versatility. If someone comes up with something different, it's a GOOD thing. No more of this 'Standard' crap.
3) Read the first few lines of a topic, the ones before all the Pokemon. Normally they'll say In-game or competetive and the groundings that the person wants. Such as No Hidden Powers. No Replacement Pokemon, blah-de-blah. Don't ignore this, pay attention and help in the way they want. Your opinions are opinions, not facts and certainly not any better than anyone elses.
Also, anyone asking for ratings should make sure these items are clear if they're to be heeded. Certainly please state competetive or in-game. Or In-game Competetive if you by some freak of luck actually have the ability to fight others using trained Pokemon.
4) Be Nice. Is it so hard to be curteous from time-to-time? Insulting other members on stupid grounds such as a moveset on a Pokemon is nonesense and will not be tolerated. Can't handle this? Tough, you'll find yourself on a path to ban-land. For as long as people insist on being *******s, you get one warning and that's it.
5) Just a request, mostly going on the curtesy thing. If someone's talking about in-game teams, mentioning if breeding or extra tms or move-tutors will be required would be awfully nice. Some dexes don't actually acknowledge this of course, but if yours does and you do happen to be talking about it anyway then you might as well.
Also, currently, if you give ANY rise to suspicion that you're the same prick/s that have been spamming up this forum for the last couple of weeks, you WILL be banned without question. Quite simply becuase none of us plan on cleaning up another 5 pages of the rubbish.
These 'rules'/guidelines are here to try and make this forum more friendly and approachable. Can't handle them, then you're only being part of the problem. Don't be.
