View Full Version : The Elemental Smeargle

It was a beautiful, sunny day in a quite little city in the mountains. Val and Ecko were enjoying a quick break from their travels under a tall apple tree. Though the pair was on the outskirts of town, they could see just about all the activity in the town. There were a few choice people walking about and most notably, there was a group of six Smeargle playing about. The painter pokemon danced about and painted on the walls of the buildings around and no one seemed to care. The paints of the six pokemon intertwined and created a beautiful mural of a sunrise.
Val smiled about the sire skill of the Smeargel and began to think that it would be really cool to have one. Ecko looked at Val and noticed the look in his eyes. It seemed like he wanted a new friend and Ecko agreed whole-heartedly. Suddenly, without warning, a pair of Ursaring appeared from an alleyway and began attacking The Smeargle with a volley of Metal Claw attacks. One by one the Smeargle began to fall to the mighty attacks, that is all but one.
The one standing Smeargle tried to fight back. It lashed its tail out and caught a Metal Claw. A green light flashed from the Smeargles tail and its new attack was learnt. Without missing a beat the painter pokemon lashed back and caught one of the Ursaring in the face with a Metal Claw. The bear pokemon was thrown back but not taken out for good. The two Ursaring advanced on the one remaining Smeargle when Val decided to take action.
With a fluid motion, Val tossed out a poke ball. Cruz, Val’s Blaziken, appeared and took action right away. It rushed in with mighty Sky Uppercut straight to the gut of the nearest Ursaring. By this time Val had made it over to the battle with Ecko close behind. Cruz didn’t wait to see the result of its attack before it fired off a Blaze Kick into the chest of the other Ursaring. The two bear pokemon fell to the ground and were recalled back into the shadows. From the same darkness came five poke balls. They slammed into the Smeargle on the ground and absorbed them. The balls rested on the ground for a few moments and were then scooped up by a large Fearow.
“Ha ha ha. You think that you can stop us from getting the Smeargle that we need?” a voice said from the shadows in front of Val.
“I’ll do whatever it takes to protect pokemon…who are you?” Val shouted as he took a battle stance and Cruz and Ecko followed suit.
“I’m Marth and this is my partner Abby. We’re here to take over the world,” a man said as he stepped from the shadows.
A woman followed the man from the darkness. Both of them were dressed in matching black jumpsuits. The man had short blonde hair and the woman had long purple hair. The both had an expression of pure bloodlust on their faces. Suddenly from above, the mighty Fearow landed on the ground near the woman and nudged the five pokeballs over to her. Abby picked them up and handed three of them over to Marth, taking two of them for herself.
“Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ve got to be going. We’ll be back for that Smeargle that you’re protecting.” Marth said as she slammed a black orb on the ground, disappearing into the smoke that came from the orb.
Val and his pokemon were blinded by the smokescreen and flustered by the fact of the appearance of a new evil duo. Once the smoke cleared Val and his two pokemon were left standing alone in the street with the one mighty Smeargle. Val looked over at the painter pokemon and watched as it fell to the ground in exhaustion. Val wasted no time as he pulled out a pokeball and drew in the tired pokemon and rushed to the pokemon center.
Val burst into the door and rushed the ball up to the counter, Cruz and Ecko trailed behind making sure that the two villains didn’t show up again. Val handed the pokeball over to the on duty nurse and asked her to check it out. Val sat down with his two pokemon for some time, waiting for time until the nurse called him over again. She handed Val the pokeball and informed him that the Smeargle only needed a bit of rest and it would be fine. Val thanked her and took his new pokemon from her. Val recalled Cruz and then began thinking of a name for his Smeargle as he lounged in a large chair. Suddenly a perfect name hit him and he held up the pokeball.
“I’m going to call you Seth. Now, I need to see if anyone knows who those people where.” Val said as he pulled out his pokegear and called everyone he knew to come and discuss what had transpired.

"You two are up." Rainer said to his two small Pokemon, both already outside of their respective Poke-Ball, ready to go. On the other side, a smug trainer held her ‘high and almighty’ expression, and clapped lightly. Rainer and his two Pokemon had to stand their ground as wind lashed about from every direction, as two large Pokemon descended from the heavens. A pair of dragons, both Dragonite, roared as if they were the guardian of the heavens, ready to show the Water Pokemon trainer a thing or two.
“Don’t worry about their size, we got agility on our hand.” Rainer finished his words of encouragement to his two Pokemon, as both nodded back, and faced the horror in front. Houndour held her tough exterior, growling and intimidating a pair of Pokemon that greatly exceeded her size. Dawn, on the other hand, quietly stood next to the Dark type, and impatiently waited for the battle to begin. Following common courtesy, Rainer nodded to let his proud opponent begin.
“Dragonites, double Earthquake!”
Rainer narrowed his eyes, as he knew his opponent was trying to kill two birds with one stone. Earthquake is a powerful and damaging assault to the two small Pokemon, not to mention that both Houndour and Dawn were weak to the ground attack. “Houndour, Hidden Power!” Like numerous times before, Rainer had to deal with Earthquake, and Houndour had always pulled through. Her eyes flared up in power as columns of solid rock shot up from the ground, quickly ascending into the heavens. The two agile Pokemon raced onto columns, safely evading the shaking ground. A several weak columns feel, however, the rest stood strong.
“Dawn, start off weak, Thunder Shock.” Rainer pointed at one of the Dragonite, not that it really mattered. Dawn concentrated for a split second, drawing a reasonable amount of electricity into her lightning sac. With a small cry of her name, a jolt of energy streaked forward, the speed caught the Dragonite in surprise. The lightning energy exploded on contact, scattering the damage to the other mystical dragon as well. A cloud of thick smoke was produce from the result of Thunder Shock, while Rainer’s Pokemon watched on from the top of the rock pillars.
The female trainer was surprised how a small Pokemon such as a Pikachu could do so much damage to her heavenly beasts, yet she did not know Dawn’s history. “One of you use Safeguard, the other Hydro Pump.” She pointed at the Houndour, and decided to take out the Fire type first. A heavenly light surrounded the two mystical dragons, both received a blessing from the heavens as Safeguard took its place. The other Dragonite shot forward, hovering just above the pillars, straight for the Fire hound.
“Houndour, use your Protect. Dawn, finish that Dragonite off!” Houndour’s eyes flared up in flames, as a wall of fire shot up from the ground, guarding the Dark type against the high-pressured assault. Dawn utilized her speed and agility, and quickly ran along the jet of high-pressure water, all the way over to the mystical dragon. Upon Dragonite’s back, the electrical mouse called upon the gods of heavens, as her prayers were answered with a loud rumble of angered gods. Clouds deepened the heavens as thunder roared Zeus’ rage, with a large clash of light and dark, a single streak of lightning crashed down to Dawn and the doomed Dragonite, sending thousands of voltage through them.
Dawn merely felt a scratch on her lightning-like tail, while the Dragonite felt the full force of the god’s wrath. Just as Dawn jumped off of the Dragon Pokemon, a catastrophe explosion occurred on Dragonite as it was engulfed in a cloud of black smoke. Just as its trainer and partner watched with horror, the other Dragonite felt barrages of hot flames licking its wings. Houndour unloaded spurts of well-controlled fire, all the while dancing around the large and uncomfortable Pokemon. “Dodge it, dodge it!” The trainer cried ferociously; she cannot believe that her two dragons are getting taken down by two miniscule sized Pokemon.
The flames may not be very effective on Dragonite, however, barrages after barrages sure did quite a number on the mystical beast. The ‘blitzkrieg’ assault from Houndour seemed to come from all direction, quickly overwhelming the confused and injured Pokemon. “Finish it, Overheat!” Houndour’s body glowed in bright red, then to white as she competed with the almighty sun itself. Lava dripped from her sides as she dashed madly towards her target. Every step on the rock column left a lava print of her paws, and the air grew uncomfortably hot. Houndour soared into the heavens with a powerful leap, and met the battered Dragonite in midair. The battle was over before it started…
Rainer saw his communication gear vibrating rapidly, and knew it meant one of his friends was in trouble. Rainer quickly gathered his essentials and took a flight under the sky, quickly going to where his friend is. From overhead, Rainer saw Val standing next to a tree, with a new Pokemon next to him. Rainer dropped down from the sky, and then secured a safe landing with the help of Scyther. Taking a second to calm his breathing, Rainer took a look at Val’s new Pokemon. Converting his gaze to the trainer, Rainer simply questioned ‘What’s going on?’

OOC- I was actually hoping that more people would have posted by now but I guess it will be just Blastoise and myself. Anyone that wants in can still join.
BIC- Val got to his feet and greeted Rainer with a warm handshake. It had been a while since he had seen the water type trainer and his presence was always a treat. Then again, being with friends always made Val quite happy. Val noticed Rainer looking over Seth and Val began to think of a way to explain the situation.
"Well, Seth here is the reason I called you. I had a run in with a pair that said they wanted to take over the world. They went by Marth and Abby if I'm not mistaken. They had a decent pair of Ursaring and a really fast Fearow. They nabbed five Smeargle and are after this one." Val said as he rubbed Smeargle on the head.
Suddenly a small mass of something on Seth's tail caught Val's attention. He reached out and grabbed the mass and began to examine it. It seemed to be a mass of river moss mixed with a bit of stone fragments. The color of the stone and feel of the moss reminded Val of the area around Lilycove City, Val's home town. The thought of how this might have come from his little area of the world made Val want to venture out of investigate the area.
"Rainer, this stuff comes from Lilycove. I think that we need to get over there as soon as possible. Mind if I catch a ride?" Val asked as he recalled his new pokemon.

From what Rainer heard from Val, the Water Pokemon Trainer knew it was quite urgent. Rainer took two minimized spheres from his pocket and unleashed the two beasts contained within. The Safari Ball released a large green mantis, crying his name powerfully as he was let out. Exploding next to the green Scyther, a large ancient Pokemon entered the scene with a powerful roar, scaring Pidgeys off of nearby trees. The two powerful Pokemon was well equipped for long traveling – especially an oversea one they would be on.
As Rainer climbed on the large ancient Pokemon’s rough back, Rainer turned his head to Val. “I suggest you take Scyther, since he’s a lot better tamed then Aero.” Rainer knew that Scyther would not appreciate helping anyone other then Rainer himself, but the large Pokemon was not about to ignore Rainer’s orders. As Houndour and Dawn both jump on their large, Rainer watched Val withdrew the Smeargle, and took his place on Scyther’s back. The two Pokemon slowly ascended into the sky, and under the heavens’ smile, the two Pokemon zoomed forward in a burst of speed.
“Next stop, Lilycove!”

Val and Rainer soared through the sky at a pace that seemed to be impossible. The pair of Rainer's pokemon seemed quite well trained to Val, no matter what Rainer said. Aero seemed to have an underlying respect for Rainer and all the work that he had done for his pokemon, but there still needed to be one big event in the pairs relationship to change for the best. Val slightly smiled as he dreamed about his own Scyther from long ago. Rainers Scyther was quite a lot like Val's was, but is seemed much better trained.
As the pair and pokemon traveled there seemed to be a growing sense of danger. Something was wrong in the area and Val felt it. As they crossed the sky a massive pillar of smoke was in view. The source was a building deep in the heart of Lilycove. There was something very wrong about this and Val didn't have time to think about what it could be, his hometown was in trouble.
Val pushed Scyther to the limit and got to the city in a matter of moments. Val leapt from Scyther's back and onto the street. He sprinted to the source of the flame and found two familar figures. This time, they were using new pokemon. A mighty looking Torkoal stood in the street breathing out a massive wave of flame into a building, which Val knew as the Art Center. Another pokemon came into view as Val sprinted closer. The long rust colored Arbok slithered from within and up to it's master, Marth. It shook it's head and Marth frowned. Abby recalled the Torkoal and Marth recalled his shiny Arbok as they began to walk away.
"Don't you dare run away! Come back here!" Val called but it was to late, the pair was to far away to catch.
Val stopped running and tried to catch his breath as the flames from the building danced in the sky. Val had no water pokemon to fight the flames and he didn't know of anyone that would be near the area. Though Rainer would be there in a matter of moments, it seemed to be to late. Val fell to his knees and cried out in anger as the flames began to lick across the ground and onto Val's face.
OOC-Sorry that I've been gone for so long...

On other occasions, Rainer would be more then happy to travel across the swift seas and into the bursting city of Lilycove, the welcoming committee was not so friendly this time around. Thick smoke crowded out the mighty sun, and gave the heavens a painfully red glow. Rainer saw Scyther flying back towards themselves, although Val is no where to be seen. Rainer gazed on ahead while Aero picked up his speed, sensing immediate dangers up ahead. A rod of fire came in his view, as the Water Pokemon trainer realized it was a burning building at the other end of the city.
“Come on Aero, full speed!” Rainer encouraged the ancient Pokemon, while Scyther helped at that by eclipsing Aero, driving a strong force of jealousy in the Rock and Flying type. Aero screeched in all of his ancient rage, and flapped his wings with great effort and strength. The fiery building was the only thing that stood out under the red sky, while Rainer watched the citizens of Lilycove are rushing about, none of them having a suitable Pokemon to tame the wild beast.
The don’t call me a Water Pokemon trainer for nothing… Rainer thought as he jumped off of the ancient Pokemon, withdrawing both of the airborne beast at once. Dawn and Houndour followed Rainer in falling off to the ground, while all three gazed at the tremendous fire up ahead.
“There are people trapped in there!” An old lady cried in horror and frustration at the burning building, she was unable to do much. But someone else could…
“Blastoise, Milotic, I want a good douse of Rain Dance!” Rainer located Val, who was in trouble with some hot flames around him; although Rainer was quite sure help was arriving.
Upon their recent release, the two Water type quickly gone to work, both praying to the red heavens above. Rainer turned to his two smaller Pokemon, and gave them a good smile, “Come on you two, you’re coming with me.” A wave of soothing rain welcomed Rainer properly to the city of Lilycove as he made a mad dash into the building, while Houndour and Dawn kept up easily with their great agility.
Although the outside of the building had Blastoise and Milotic to take care of, the inside was still quite a chaos. Heat and smoke blurred Rainer’s visions, while the lack of healthy oxygen drove the Water Pokemon trainer into a sense of dizziness. “Houndour, I want you to search the building for any survivors, starting from the top floor.” Houndour nodded to her trainer, and then the Dark type merged into the shadow of a dark corner, disappearing from Rainer and Dawn’s view.
“How about a set of Hidden Power?” Rainer smiled down at his little Pikachu, and cough through his jacket as he watched the Lightning type get to work. “Control the power of it, we want to minimize the damage.” Although the whole building was on fire, Rainer had to conserve as much as he possibly can – art can never be replaced. Dawn the Pikachu cried as the ring of cool blue dispelled into every direction, exploding gently over the waves of flame, and cooled everything with a well placed Ice type Hidden Power.
Rainer and Dawn worked their way up as quickly as they could, while Rainer had to depend on Scyther on the fourth floor for the large Mantis’ command of winds – to blow away all of the foul smoke. Dawn was beginning to get tired, as waves of waves of Hidden Power is wearing the small Pokemon down, and the flames are not helping either. With the help of Scyther, Rainer and Dawn located the stairs to the next floor, as the trekked their way up, hoping they’re in time to save as many survivors as they can.
Rainer looked over to his Pokemon, and watched the tired expression on the Pikachu’s face as Dawn cast upon another wave of cool orbs, dousing out all source of flame in the room. Rainer noticed the dizziness of the small Pokemon, and knew fatigue and the heat had got the better of the Lightning type. “Scyther, bring Dawn down to the first floor.” The large Mantis hesitated as he realized that Rainer did not have any other Pokemon besides Aero with him, leaving the trainer quite vulnerable. “It’s okay, tell Milotic to come up here.” Scyther nodded as he respected the decision of his trainer, and busted through an open window, disappearing from Rainer’s views.
The Water Pokemon Trainer inhaled a great deal of oxygen as he dashed up to the last floor, and it was still blazing with flames and smokes. Rainer heard a muffled cry at the far corner of the room, and noticed it was an adolescent; her thin leg was trapped under a pile of wood. Gotta play the hero… Rainer leaped over a pile of burning wood as he made a made dash over to the girl, coughing and choking all the way. Using every once of strength he had left in him, Rainer yanked at the wood, giving the girl enough time to withdraw her leg.
“Come on,” Rainer extended the girl a hand, which the girl did not hesitate to take. Before Rainer would pull the girl up, he noticed her eyes suddenly grew wide with horror. The blue-haired trainer turned around and saw a burning log ready to lash upon him, and a felt a strength sense of protectiveness… A swirl of blue water shot from the other side of the room, and the perfected aim shot away the falling wood. Rainer only had a second to look at his own Sacred Milotic before his strength gave away, falling gently onto the ground…
-------
Thank you Rain… for rescuing me…
-------
The citizens of Lilycove watched from the ground, and all of them focused on the top-most floor of the Art Museum. Floor by floor, a miraculous force had rid of all the flames, while the last floor persisted the ‘miracle’. A large flash flared out as the highest floor of the building exploded. Citizens gasped as the fanned out, searching a safer a spot to watch on. The once red sky now turned dark, as the dooming night cast upon the city of Lilycove.
“Was anyone trapped up there?” A teenage boy asked the person next to him, his voice almost completely drown out by the fire sirens off the Fire Trucks a mile away.
“A trainer, I think, who ran in earlier on.” An older girl replied, quickly holding her hands on her air, and tried her best block as much of the siren as she possibly can.
“His Houndour saved four workers and a Pokemon before it was to dangerous to go back in,” Another Lilycove citizen added, observing at the highest floor of the building.
A final explosion signaled the end of the day, at least for Rainer. The sacred Milotic and her trainer slowly descent from the top floor, while the Water Pokemon’s psychic abilities held Rainer calmly next to her. Val, as well as the rest of the city, looked at the gradually descending beings, quickly rushed at the boy and his Pokemon as soon as he was set to the ground.
“Look! I think he’s coming around…” A voice broke through Rainer’s trance, as he coughed with his back on the floor. The water Pokemon trainer sat up, looking around for the girl he just rescued; however, all he found was unfamiliar faces of Lilycove. Val broke through the crowd and looked down at the battered trainer, while not showing much of his emotion; the Rainer just had received much gratitude from the Lilycove trainer.
Giving a huge sigh, Rainer crashed back down to the floor, his weariness overtaking him…

OOC-That's fine, I really didn't have a plan for wheather the build would survive or not but you just made my job so much easier. Again Blastoise, I need to tell you what an awesome writer you are. Keep up the good work.
BIC-Val grabbed Rainers pokeballs and recalled all but Houndour. Val lifted the water trainer onto his shoulder and walked slowly through the crowd of cheering people. They all patted the unconcious trainer on the back and cheered as Houndour trotted close behind. Finally getting angry with the mass blocking the way to a resting point Val called out Cruz and Ecko whom began to create a path for their trainer to walk down.
After some walking and a bit of crowd control by his two pokemon, Val reached his destination. The group stood before a two story, pale blue house. The back was fenced in and showed signs of some kind of pokemon activity. There seemed to be someone inside in the living area but they seemed to pay no attention to the activity outside. Val motioned to Cruz to open the door and entered silently. Once inside, Val walked slowly up the stairs and layed Rainer in his bed leaving him to sleep with Houndour watching over closely.
Val walked back down the stairs only to find a beautiful older woman scratching Cruz on the top of the head and Ecko on the back. The woman wore a yellow sundress and a smile from ear to ear. Val softly smiled at her and was greeted with a warm hug. Val pushed his head into her shoulder and breathed in deep her familar smell. I had truly been a long time since he had been home.
"Mom, I wish that I had got to come back on a better standing in life but something's very wrong. There's this pair of people that are trying to capture my newest pokemon, Smeargle. They said something about taking over the world and are heading north." Val said somberly as he sat down on the couch next to his mother while Cruz and Ecko made their way out into the back yard to play.
"To the north you say? There is a really old shrine just north of here called The Smeargle Gate. It's said that if six Smeargle are gathered there and they each use a different type of attack that the gate will open and give the trainer that opened the gate the ability to enslave the world...but that's just a legend. I don't see how that could even be true." Val mother said as she got up and entered the kitchen with Val close behind, holding on to her every word.
"Hmm...I'll have to look into that as soon as Rainer walks up. Anyways, how have things been here since I last was here?" Val asked.
"Oh, nothing much. I've been really busy and your father is working as always. We've actually just got a Ponyta to play in the backyard. Your father and I's Slakoth were as your pokemon always seem to suceed in everything that they do."
"What do you mean?" Val asked as he and his mother entered the backyard which was full of fruit trees and open fields.
As soon as Val and his mother were in the yard they were met with the sight of Ecko resting under a tree while Cruz ran along side the new baby Ponyta. Suddenly from the wooded area came a white blur. It smashed into Val and knocked him to the ground. Once it came to a rest the blur became a figure that reminded him of a pokemon that he had once seen. It bore a red tuft of hair and it's body was accented with a pair of brown stripes.
"Pogo, is that you?" Val asked to the large pokemon that stood over him smiling.
"Pogo evolved into a Vigoroth about six months ago. It was fighting off some Pidgey that were trying to steal some fruit and evolved. Pogo's the most energitic pokemon that I've ever seen. He's glad to see you." Vals mother said as she smiled softly at the old pair of friends.
From the woods came a pair of Slakoth. They were old and were loosing speed, even for Slakoth. They took a standing position next to Val's mother and watched as the pair got reaquinted. Cruz and Ponyta returned and Ecko had by this time moved over to Val again to watch the excitement of his trainer and family pokemon.
"Pogo, it's so great to see you again. You seem to be doing great. Maybe you can come with me this time." Val said as him and his pokemon rolled on the ground with each other.
Val and Pogo got up and began playing in the forest with Ecko as Val's mother watched from a lawn chair with the two older Slakoth. Cruz and Ponyta played and ran around the open fields with each other, enjoying the company of the other fire pokemon.
OOC-Just do something about waking up and coming into the backyard. I'll take it from there.

BIC:
Rainer and Houndour exploded down the hallway, making a sharp left turn to pursuit the figure in front of them, and the duo tried their best to not fall behind. “Go get ‘em.” A silent command was sent to Houndour, as the fire hound dissipated into the dark hallway, whilst Rainer dashed forward to continue the hunt. The blue-haired trainer can barely see the tip of his nose, yet he never slowed or stopped, and chased on the shadow in front of him.
An intimidating snarl was heard up ahead, as Rainer dimly made out that the figured. It seemed like the shadow will not flee any more, as the Water Pokemon trainer faintly heard a sound of rustling Poke-Ball. Houndour sensed this as well, and the duel typed Pokemon quickly returned back to her trainer’s side, ready to protect the blue-haired trainer. A sudden explosion of light snarled from all directions, as the once dark hallway quickly become exposed in bright lights, giving Rainer a hard time to adjust. Rainer groaned as he strained to see his opponent, yet a large Pokemon blocked his way.
A powerful Blastoise stood against Houndour, while the cowardice trainer situated safely behind the commanding Pokemon. Rainer snapped his eyes open and shut repeatedly, and tried his best to adjust to the bright situation as fast as he could. “Shadow Ball.” Rainer said lazily as he rubbed his left eye, while watching the show with his right. A tint of darkness grew from the pure white hallway, as the marble of evil grew large steadily, absorbing all of the evils within the hallway. Houndour zigzagged around the large tortoise, preempting her strike with utmost proficiency.
The opponent made a command, while Rainer got a voice check on his opponent. Even though the Water Pokemon trainer cannot see his opponent’s face, he guessed they foe would be a teenage boy, much similar to himself. Rainer narrowed his eyes as Houndour fired the overcharged blob of dark energy, while the once stoic Blastoise took a defensive stance. The Blastoise shot two bullets of water to intercept the Shadow Ball; the first dissipated the attack completely, while the second aimed chiefly at the Fire-Dark Pokemon. Rainer noticed something different, yet similar about the Blastoise, then everything hit him…
The way the Shadow Ball was canceled, the defensive stance, the offensive maneuvers – Rainer was positive – that Pokemon on the other side of the field was his own Blastoise. Rainer then checked his Poke-Ball, and his own Blastoise was safely inside one of them… The opposition slowly stalked out from Blastoise’s large overcastting shadow, and a smirk was on his face. Rainer silently gasped as he saw the mirror imaged of himself: exterior, posture, personality, even his own battle stance! “Hydro Cannon.” A merciless voice echoed through the hallway, as Rainer realized it was his own merciless voice…
Rainer lost count of the water bullets zipping towards their way, as the fast speed made it difficult to track. The water projectiles bounced off the ceiling, side walls, and ground, yet they did not splatter, at least not until their target is found. Rainer and Houndour stood in the line of firing, but they were never hit…
Rainer rolled madly and felled to the floor, and suddenly waking from his horrible nightmare… It was not the first time that Rainer received this ‘nice’ dream from the heavens above, although Rainer never took dreams seriously. Houndour sighed at her own trainer, seeing the reaction from a good nightmare the third time of the long week. Rainer panted a bit and realized the setting he’s in, a comfy little room of a regular house. Rainer ran his hand through his sweaty hair, and sleepily watched the small hound trot out of the room, while he followed suit.
The aroma of home cooked food greeted the Water Pokemon trainer, as the duo made their way down the stairs, and into the small yet comforting kitchen. Then, Rainer heard some noises coming from the outside, as he stared through the commotion behind a sliding glass door. Cruz the Blaziken was competitively racing with a Ponyta, pretty young one at that by the size of it. While Val and an older woman, presumably his mother, were playing with a Vigoroth. Rainer felt a smile creep up his mouth, yet he never felt why.
Sliding the transparent door ajar, Rainer made his entrance into the backyard…
This reminds me of home… wherever that was…

Val smiled warmly at the sight of Rainer standing in the door. He made his way out of the wooded area followed closely by Pogo and Ecko. Cruz continued to play with the energetic little Ponyta. Val's mother got up and walked over to her approaching son. The two elderly Slakoth layed down together to take a nap.
Val met Rainer just beyond the back door and placed his hand on Rainers shoulder. He smiled softly as the once weakened friend as Houndour exited the house. Ecko met with Houndour with a playful call and began back over to the woods, as if asking it to play. Val and Pogo were left standing before Rainer as Val's mother came over to greet her guest.
"Rainer, I'm glad to see that you're up. This is my home, and this is my mother Belle. Oh, this is my childhood pokemon Pogo. Come on, let's go sit down." Val said as he pulled Rainer over to a set of lawn chairs off to the right.
"Now there's something that we need to check out. Mom told me about this place called the The Smeargle Gate that is to the north of here. It's said that if six Smeargle use six different types of attacks on the gate it will open and give whomever opened it the power to take over the world. Seems rather perfect, don't you think? We need to check it out." Val said to his partner in all of these events and then turned to his mother.
"Mom, it seems that Cruz is really happy here. It has been a long time since he's got to play with another fire pokemon and I think that staying here for a while would be great for him. I think that I'm going to take Pogo with me. Rainer, let's go." Val said as got to his feet.
Val called Ecko and Pogo over and began towards the door. Cruz noticed that the group was leaving and ran over to leave. Val turned to face his long time friend and smiled weakly. He knew that he had to tell Cruz that he was going to be leaving and that Cruz was to stay. Val put his hand on Cruz's arm and frowned.
"Cruz, you need to stay here. Ponyta needs someone to play with and with Pogo coming with me there needs to be someone to protect the groves from pokemon. Mom and Dad's Slakoth are getting older and they can't do it by themselfs. It's time for you to step up and help mom. Will you do that for me?" Val asked through a bit of a struggle.
Cruz nodded as a tear formed in it's eye. Cruz was going to stay but it was truly going to miss it's long time friend. Val and Cruz embraced with tears in their eyes. The two friends disengaged their embrace and parted ways. Val walked slowly out of the backyard and into the house as Cruz stood his ground, waving sadly. Val turned and left the house and waited in the front yard for Rainer.
"Cruz, I'm gonna miss you..." Val said to himself.
OOC-Yes, I did it. Cruz will be gone from my party. I'll still use him from time to time in battles if I need to and if there is ever a really big tournament I will use him.

“Six Smeargle and the Smeargle Gate, huh…” Rainer murmured to himself as he was set into a slow trance, while his eyes unwearyingly gazed upon the scene of Val and Cruz. Rainer’s sleep did him a lot of good, now he feels he could take on an army with his Pokemon. Rainer looked down at Houndour and frowned, seeing his playful Pokemon sprawled out on the grass, who seemed to be enjoying the morning glow.
Rainer tossed a Poke-Ball out, which released a much annoyed Dawn. The energetic Pikachu was slightly mad at Rainer for keeping her in the Poke-Ball for such a long time, even though she needed rest after all of the Hidden Power she pulled out the day before. “Come on Dawn, let’s leave Houndour behind.” Rainer teased at the half-asleep Pokemon, and chuckled as he watched Houndour’s ear perk up then a Sentret.
Before Rainer and Dawn knew it, the duo typed Pokemon jumped to her feet, taking Rainer’s taunt a bit too seriously. “Come on girls,” Rainer led the way around the house, and met Val at the front porch. “Well, let’s get to that gate.”

Val nodded in agreement with Rainer. It would be best if they got to the gate before Marth and Abby got there. Val pulled out a pokeball and recalled both Pogo and Ecko. It was to painful at the moment to look at his own pokemon and he wanted to make sure that they were rested up before the battle that was to come. Val motioned for Rainer to follow and they began north.
Val lead the way silently, not quite sure that Rainer was behind him but none the less he ventured on. The thought of what his two new enemies could do if they got to the gate before him was still pounding in his brain. Seth was safe in its pokeball but that truely didn't comfort Val any. Marth and Abby would stop at nothing to get Seth from Val and that alone worried him. They were willing to burn down a building just to look for Smeargle, so why wouldn't they kill someone for one?
All of it became to much for Val to comprehind and he began running down the path leading north. His emotions were running wild, his mind was racing, and his stress level was off the charts. Val ran and ran for what seemed like hours, passing by pokemon that looked on like he was some kind of crazed being. His heart pounding, Val finally came to a stop. He stood before a clear pond in the middle of a clearing in the woods. In the center stood a massive pillar with what appeared to be a ring standing straight up in the center. At the base of the pillar stood six platforms make of stone.
"This must be what mom told me about. This is great, I'm the first one here." Val said as he took a step into the pond.
"That's not true. We've just been waiting for you to show up so we can take that Smeargle of yours." a voice called from the darkness of the forest.
Marth, followed closely by Abby came from the treeline, each holding a pokeball in hand. Both seemed to be dressed for a long sought after battle. Marth was clad in a blood red dress shirt and black pants that ended in a pair of black boots. Abby was clad in a long gray skirt and pale blue shirt that clung tight to her body. Marth let out a small evil laugh and tossed one of the pokeballs over to Abby.
"You take that Smeargle, I want to take his for myself. Are you ready to get it Abby?" Marth asked his partner in crime.
"Of course Marth. Let's show this kid what he's gotten himself into." Abby said coldly as she placed the pokeball on her belt.
Both of the evil trainers tossed out their pokeballs and took up a battle stance. Abby's pokeball exploded into the form of a mighty bird with a long thin beak. The Fearow landed atop the ring and spread it's wings as if to intimidate Val, and it slightly worked. Marth's pokeball smashed into the ground and exploded into a bright light that eradiated the entire area. When the light faded, a mighty Dragonair was wound in the fountain with a look of pure evil in it's eyes.
"How are you going to stop us now, kid?" Marth asked as he crossed his arms.
"I'm gonna show you what a real pokemon looks like! Go Ecko!" Val shouted as he tossed out his mighty grass type.
Ecko appeared in all it's shiny glory and began working without even being ordered. It formed two Leaf Blade attacks and slashed wildly at Dragonair and Fearow. Though the attack was strong, neither of the opponents pokemon were effected much.
"Do you expect to beat both of our pokemon with one? You're crazier that I thought to begin with. Fearow use your Pursuit!" Abby called out
"Dragonair, use your Twister attack!" Marth called out to his dragon type pokemon.
The pair of pokemon readied themselves. Fearow left it's pearch and smashed into Ecko with a dead on hit. Ecko was sent flying backwards into the edge of the pond. Soon after came a massive cyclone that hit Ecko with a great force and tossed it into the stone pillar. Val frowned as he watched the punishment that his pokemon was being put through.
"Ecko, hold in there. We'll get these two down, just hold on!"

He must be confused… Rainer sighed as he followed closely after the running boy, with the help of Scyther. Houndour and Dawn ran easily along, while the Mantis Pokemon commands the pace of the small run uphill. The steadily up hill climb did some good training for all of the three Pokemon, although Rainer felt guilty of having a comfortable rest upon Scyther. Because of that, Rainer jumped off the Bug type, and slowly jogged along with the rest of his Pokemon. “If you guys are training, I mind as well join.”
The quadrant kept pace, with Scyther leading the way, the two four legged Pokemon coming up next, while the slower Water Pokemon trainer rearing up the back. Rainer kept his gaze on the top-most place he could view, and slowly but surely, a small yet towering structure began to rise under the morning sun. The forest clearing encircled a strange gate, while six stones formed an outlandish ring around a large pillar. That must be it… Then noises to the left broke Rainer’s trail of thoughts, as the Water Pokemon trainer and his three Pokemon ran to investigate.
Val and Ecko were pinned down by the number and the type advantage the opponent had – whom Rainer figured are the one responsible for the whole thing. Maybe I shouldn’t cut in… Rainer stood idle watching the battle, while Houndour and Dawn nudged at Rainer’s jeans, asking why the trainer isn’t joining the fight. The blue-haired trainer looked on at the battle for a moment longer, and found Ecko was double-teamed pretty badly.
“Okay, time to help Val out.” Rainer stormed into the battlefield, joining the side of Val. Tossing forward a spherical object; Rainer released one of his shiny Pokemon. Mizu dissipated out of the Poke-Ball with a dark mist around herself, forming quite a nice introduction for the three other Pokemon on the field. The dark type’s rings grew an eerie blue, which was also the color of the tip of her ears. Mizu was not the type of Pokemon that looked forward to a battle, so she assumed a sitting position, observing the battle with great interest. “Watch out!” Rainer yelled at his Pokemon as soon as he saw a large predator diving down for a surprising attack, although the shiny Pokemon had already caught on.
Mizu dissipated into the solid ground with her shadow abilities, while Rainer chuckled as he watched the confused Fearow looking around. Just before the bird Pokemon could climb back into the sky for a safer position, Mizu stormed out with a good headbutt to flank the Fearow good across the chest. The large predator and its trainer were surprised by the witty Umbreon, thus giving Rainer another chance to strike. “Give it a good Quick Attack!”
Mizu picked up with immense speed, streaking forward at a speed well beyond the tracking abilities of the naked eye, and slammed into Fearow once again. The large bird Pokemon cried in pain, as it quickly soared back into the sky, glaring down at the dark and blue Pokemon on the ground. Rainer folded his arms and smirked at the opposing trainer. “Bring it on…”

OOC-Blastoise, you can keep battling Fearow until I give you word otherwise.
BIC-Val helped Ecko back up to it's feet and glared at Marth with his eyes burning with rage. Nothing had ever mad him this mad before. For the first time in his life, Val actually felt rage. A flame burnt deep down in the pit of his stomach and he didn't know why. It could have had to do with the fact that these people wanted to take over the world, but others had tried that and failed with Val fighting them. It may have been the fact that they had attacked his home town. The most of it was the fact that these people were trying to steal one of his pokemon.
Marth smiled wickedly and rubbed the side of Dragonair's head. Both of them glared evily at the pair that stood before them. They both had a look of pure hatred in their eyes and took up a battle pose once again. Marth backed away and without saying a word a plan of action was set into motion. Dragonair's orb under its chin shone a bright blue and then faded. Suddenly the clouds began to whip and spin as thunder and lightning began to range across the tempest above. Sheets of rain began to fall from the sky above and drenched the area.
"Alright Dragonair, use your Ice Beam on the sky. Make it painful." Marth said coldly as the pelting rain smashing into his stone like face.
Dragonair's horn shone a pale blue and let off a cold mist. As the ice type attack built up, a stream of ice cold energy shot into the sky. The beam began to freeze the rain droplets and turned them into sharp ice projectiles that came down at a deadly pace. The shards of ice began to smash into Ecko and Val, cutting their skin and drawing crimson streams of blood. As Dragonair continued, it honned the Ice Beam down onto the pond, freezing in and Val and Eckos feet within.
"Ha, caught and bleeding. Looks like I'm gonna have an easier time in capturing that Smeargle than I thought. Now Dragonair, go and use your wrap on that trainer and make sure you break every bone in his body." Marth said with an evil laugh.
Dragonair skated across the ice and began to encircle the helpless trainer. With a single powerful motion, Dragonair constricted around Val's body and began to squeeze tight. A loud crack echoed through the area as a few of Val's ribs broke and he cried out in pain. Ecko was stuck in the ice and forced to listen as it's trainer cry out in pain. It felt so helpless because it couldn't help it's trainer in his time of need. In a fit of rage, Ecko began to shake and slash at the ice with it's Leaf Blade. Once it was clear that slashing at the ice wasn't going to free it, Ecko began to cry out in anger.
Without warning, Ecko's body began to glow a bright white. The ice around it cracked and shattered as it's body began to grow and reform. It's once thin legs became thicker and more muscular. It's think tails formed into one and became long and thick like a tree of sorts. It's leaves all became shorter and it's body more massive. Two rows of yellow orbs formed on it's back as it's head took on a more arrow like shape. The light began to fade and it's teal skin was revealed, unmarked and shining slightly.
"Sceptile!" the newly evolved pokemon called out in anger.
The grass pokemon shot forward and grabbed the Dragonair around the neck. With it's mighty arms, Ecko lifted Dragonair off of it's trainer and tossed it aside and into a tree. The dragon pokemon called out in pain as Val fell backwards and into a state of unconciousness. Ecko continued the assult with a mighty Bullet Seed aimed at Dragonair's face. The dragon type cried in pain and began to crawl away from the mighty grass type. Ecko began to advance on Marth with a look of pure fury in its eyes.
"Back off you monster! Arbok, Ursaring, protect me!" Marth called out as he tossed out two pokeballs.
The mighty snake and bear pokemon appeared and took up protective stances. Ecko looked on for a moment and then formed a wicked smile on it's face. It prepared itself for what was sure to be a battle that would surely decide the fate of the world.
Meanwhile, Val was waking from his painful slumber. He looked up to see the cracked ice before him and the form of the newly evolved Ecko stalking down on the Arbok and Ursaring. The sight confused Val to no end but it wasn't time to wonder what was going on, but to try to regan a sitting position and continue to battle.
"Ecko evolved to protect me...but that look in it's eyes. I don't know if he's the same pokemon anymore."

Rainer did not have time to watch the spectacular battle going along side of him, since he has an angry Fearow to deal with. The opposing trainer seemed to be highly experience, must similar to her male counterpart, obviously carried a sense of evil and dark within her. Rainer silently thanked the antagonist for creating a soft drizzle of the rain, while Mizu decided to take it into the next level. “Show ‘em a real down pour, Rain Dance!”
The dark feline growled as her ears started to float easily. The tip of Mizu’s ear, along with the eerie rings painted upon her body, began to glow in deep blue, brightly illuminating the entire forest with arrays of lights. What began as a light blue aura surrounding the Umbreon started to disperse outwards, quickly became a large orb of energy fully enveloping the Dark Pokemon. The lightning above responded hungrily with the power feeding into them, while they sparked about with anxiety and lust. A heavy orb of cool blue energy ascended into the heavens to calm the god’s anger and rage, while the divinities answered the prayers of Umbreon with a heavy downpour.
“That’s what I am talking about.” Rainer smiled as he enjoyed the heavy rains, easily finding comfort from the violent heavy storm. Fearow and its trainer, on the other hand, did not ostensibly find joyous laughers Rainer and his Pokemon shared. The rain drastically increased Umbreon’s unpredictability, and gave the Dark Pokemon easier time to maneuver in the darkened environments. The Fearow cawed as it began to dive once again, holding back its two wings, whilst the sharp beak quickly spun into a drill-like component.
“Hide.” The command was simple yet effective, as Mizu used the heavy downpour for great coverage, and she had completely disappeared from Fearow before it even got close enough. The great predator saw this and immediately prepared for the return flight back into the darkening sky, although even that was a little too late. Out of the edge of the clearing, a ball of heavy black energy stormed silently under the throbbing rain, impacting the Fearow with ease.
Now the Fearow cawed with more then just pain, it was pure rage. The Pokemon flapped its wings greatly, as it performed another dive. It was not looking for the elusive Dark type, this time, it aiming for the frail human being standing boldly next to the Smeargle Gate.

The newly evolved Sceptile laughed softly as the two powerful pokemon took up battle poses in front of it. The shiny Arbok puffed up its hood as to show that it was much larger than it really was. Ursaring flared out it's claws and pushed it's chest outwards, giving the appearence of it being made of pure muscle. Ecko dropped it's arms to it's sides and lowered it's head. Without warning, Ecko opened it's mouth and let out a piercing scream into the face of it's two opponents. The Screech attack frightened the enemy and caused them to recoil from their frightening acts.
"Come on you two! Get that Sceptile!" Marth called out as he rushed over to his injured Dragonair.
Arbok launched forward with a Bite attack while the powerful Ursaring lumbered at Ecko with a Slash attack. Ecko smiled as it lept back and avoided Arbok's attack and slammed it into the ground with an Iron Tail attack. Ursaring came from the side and tried to cut Ecko with its Slash but was met with a mighty Dragon Claw to the face. Ursaring was sent flying backwards into the stone pillar. One of it's eyes bleed massively and it cried out in pain as it realized that it would never see from it again.
Arbok got up again only to be met with Mega Punch to the neck. The snake pokemon was sent backwards across the ice. Ecko picked the pokemon up by the tail and began to spin. It spun and spun for what seemed like forever until it's momentium was at a peak. The Sceptile let go and sent the other shiny pokemon through a grove of trees and into a large rock head first. Marth and Dragonair were left watching the onslaught put on by the freshly evolved pokemon.
"Dragonair, get up! You have to stop this monster! Get up!" Marth called in desperation as his dragon pokemon began to stir.
Val was now in a sitting position and pulled out a pokeball. Without wasting a second, Val recalled his grass pokemon and pulled out another pokeball. He tossed out the orb and the pokemon within took form. Seth, the feisty little Smeargle appeared and grabbed it's tail to prepare itself for an attack. Dragonair finally struggled back up to a 'standing' position and glared at Smeargle.
"Oh! That's the one! Dragonair, use your Ice Beam on that Smeargle and trap it." Marth called out to his weakened pokemon.
Seth seemed to know what it was suppost to do in this situation. The beam shot forth from Dragonair's horn with less power this time and was quite a bit slower. Seth easily dodged it and, with it's powerful tail, Sketched the attack. It then followed suit in Sketching the Rain Dance that Rainer's pokemon had set up. With these two new attacks under its belt the rest of the battle would be easy, or so Seth and Val thought.
"Seth, use that Ice Beam now!" Val called out as he was painfully reminded that his ribs were broken.
Seth aimed it's tail at Dragonair and fired out a massive stream of ice. The beam struck the dragon type in the face and rendered it unconcious. Marth recalled his three pokemon and, even though he was left without a pokemon on the field, he smiled. He lifted two new pokeballs from his belt and tossed them out. From the orbs appeared a set of Shedinja.
"Do you honestly think that I would keep those worthless Smeargle in my party? You're wrong. We don't follow the rules set forth by the Pokemon League, so we can keep as many pokemon with us as we choose. Let's see how you handle my Shedinja." Marth laughed as he crossed his arms.
"I'm not sure if I can take out these Shedinja. Seth is gonna have a hard time with this one. I hope that Rainer is fairing better than Seth is right now." Val thought to himself.

Rainer’s foe did not have a look of disappointment or fear… it seemed as if that the woman did not even see the last attack thrown against her Pokemon. Using the aid of the helpful Rain Dance, Fearow was brought down by a high voltage of lightning and electricity. Replacing the large predator, the antagonist released a pair of Ninjask, their wings fluttering silently in the heavy rain. Great, even faster Pokemon… Rainer had to restrict the Ninjask somehow, since the pair of Bugs would easily out speed the Umbreon. “Mean Look!”
The Ninjask suddenly shriek in fear and paranoia, as the already dark sky just had quickly blackened even more. The two Bug ninjas felt a piercing eye set upon them on their backs, sending chills more effectively then the cold rain. The Ninjask turned around quickly to locate the source of the mysterious ‘Third Eye’ of Umbreon, yet they found nothing more then the sheer sense of a dagger had set behind their backs. Rainer hoped that dilemma would restrict the ninjas’ movements, at least to some small degree.
The pair rushed in under the direction of Rainer’s opponent, as the Water Pokemon trainer watched the two fast Pokemon streaking in. The ninjas had their silent weapons raised, ready to end the night for the witty Dark type. The quickness of the Pokemon made both Rainer and Mizu felt the attacks were coming in from all directions, and it took Rainer a whole second to realize that Mizu was struck hard by deadly Slashes. The feline Pokemon howled her pain to the gods above, as a ray of moonlight shone through the fading clouds, granting Umbreon more strength to go on.
“Okay, we need to take these Pokemon head on.” Mizu nodded silently at her trainer’s comments, and waited patiently for the command. However, before the young trainer could act, his opponent had directed both of the ninja Pokemon towards him. Well that’s not good… Rainer backed up slowly as he watched the two Pokemon, now flying faster then ever, storm in with their claws glowing brightly. Rainer did not know what he could do, as death creeps nearer…

"Shedinja, use your Shadow Ball attack!" Marth called out as they both hovered just above his head.
The crescent shaped structures just above their heads rose slightly and began to spark. The black shards of energy sprung all across the battlefield as each formed a black orb within the ring. The charged energy finally came full circle and launched from the bone like ring above the shed pokemon heads; the two racing at a speed that seemed unearthly.
Seth seemed to know exacty what to do without being ordered; assuming a defencive position, Seth stuck out it's tail and caught part of a Shadow Ball but the blunt of the two attacks were taken by his body. Val grimmaced in pain as his pokemon cried out in pain. The pair had just gained an advantage in the battle but it was going to be very tricky to take advantage of it at this point.
“Seth, I know that this is going to be hard on you, but use a Shadow Ball on each of those Shedinja.” Val pleaded with his now highly exhausted pokemon.
Seth didn’t question it’s trainers request and aimed it’s tail at the two daunting opponents. A black orb appeared at the end of the paintbrush like tail and launched straight at one of the Shedinja. The speeding orb of energy smashed into the shed pokemon on one side and then bounced over into the others face. Both of the Shedinja hovered for a moment and then fell to the ground unconscious. Without missing a beat, Val recalled Seth and laughed slightly at Marth.
“Out of pokemon and helpless. I think that it’s time to give up Marth. Why don’t you just run away and hide like the piece of trash you truly are!” Val yelled at his frightened opponent.
“I don’t hide but I will leave you for now. I promise you that I will be back. I’ll leave Abby to deal with you now. See you soon Val Armada…Really soon.” Marth said as he vanished into the darkness of the surrounding forest.
“Getting her Rainer, get her!” Val cheered as he watched on as his PRC training partner battled on.

The pair of ninja Pokemon stormed towards the Water Pokemon Trainer, completely unarmed to fight back. Yet, as the two Bug Pokemon slashed downwards with their sharp claws, they touched nothing but air. A shadow crept along the ground, transportating the blue-haired trainer out to safety. Rainer suddenly shot up from the solid earth, with his loyal Dark type standing next to him. “Thanks Mizu, make that rainstorm even stronger.” Rainer said with an acknowledgement to the downpour, yet the Water Pokemon Trainer needed every ounce of Mother Nature’s power.
An earsplitting roar shook the entire battlefield as Thunder claimed the earth as its own, while Lightning intimidated every being into submission. “Blastoise, let’s go.” Rainer tossed forwards his strongest Pokemon, ready to bring an end to this long battle. The downpour howled with rage and fury, while the sky turned white momentarily with flashes of lightning. The large tortoise stood powerful, his twin cannons whirled around, tracking the two fast foes.
The opponent, already stressed by the Rain Dance, now glared with disdain as the rain grew heavier. Her fatigue figure was intimidated into further weariness by the loud clashing of Thunders, while she barely was able to command her Pokemon. The two Ninjask circled Blastoise, all the while forming hundreds copies of Double Team. The Bug types filled the whole forest clearing, cluttering each inch of space so that even the rains have trouble to seep through.
“Finish ‘em off, Hydro Cannon.”
Blastoise whirled his twin cannon into the heavens, while he looked upon the dark ominous clouds. Then, the two artilleries exploded consecutively, one after the other, firing the heavy bullets into the raging skies. Shortly after, the earth faced the heavy bombardment of Blastoise. All the while, the tortoise Pokemon continued his upward thrust of energy, never taking a moment to refill his exhausted energy. The aqua-bombardment lasted for ten minutes; earth splattered into submission, while tree branches joined the short grass on the ground. Every Ninjask fell and dissipated, leaving the two unconscious Bug on the ground.
As the rainstorm slowly ceased, the tears of heaven cleansed the entire earth, washing away every shreds of evil. The advocates of peace stood up powerfully, unfazed by the numerous quells of nature. “It’s over…”

Abby recalled her two fallen pokemon and began to run for the forest. She was left alone and unable to protect herself. The fear of the situation came back over her and she fled into the forest, not exactly sure of how to find her partner or where to go. Val looked over at his partner in battle and smiled softly. He was in a great deal of pain and couldn't really see straight, but he know the outcome of the battle.
"Rainer, good job. I knew that I could count on you to help me out here. You're probably a better trainer than myself...That's why I want you to take Seth. You'll be better for it than I would be. Rainer could not tear his eyes off of the spherical object in front of him, inside containing one of the rarest Pokemon known to man. The Water Pokemon Trainer looked to his friend, rival, and partner, seeing the current condition he was in, yet the words of encouragement and a gift of acknowledgement all came from the same person: Val. Rainer merely nodded as he took the Poke-Ball, and watched the gleam bouncing off its admirable curves.
Then, the Water Pokemon Trainer realized a figure darted into the forest behind him. As the blue haired boy turned around, he saw the fleeing figure of his previous opponent. Without taking Val into consideration, Rainer’s trainer instincts immediately kicked on, giving him a burst of speed to take after the fleeing foe. Houndour and Dawn darted along side, whilst the boy called out a couple of witty remark, trying his best to get his opponent’s attention. Abby ran straight ahead, the previous skirmishes were still fresh in her mind. Rainer nodded to his Pokemon, while Dawn darted forward with Agility, easily cutting of Abby’s last escape route.
The lass turned and narrowed her eyes once again, her hands with two Poke-Ball once again. With a fluid motion, unaffected by her fatigue, released both of her remaining Pokemon – Rainer countered with two of his own. Four Pokemon stood at the forest clearing, the Smeargle Gate several dozen yards behind them. Houndour and Dawn stared down at their opposition: a Torkoal and an Ursaring.
“Ladies first,” Rainer smirked as he let his opponent have the first move, getting in his battle position. At the back of his mind, the Water Pokemon Trainer worried about Val, yet he quickly shifted his attention back to Abby. The battle has just began…

Abby shook with an anger that could only come from being deserted by someone she felt was her only friend in the world. She was used as his scapegoat and it enraged her. She took a pair of pokeballs from her pocket and hurled them into the air. A massive wave of light burst from the pair of orbs and began to form into the battle hardened creatures that dwelt within. The first was a massive brown bear with a yellow circle on it's chest. It's long, jagged claws shone slightly in the dull light of the forest as it began to prepare for battle. The second was a black-shelled, orange turtle with a mass amount of smoke rolling off of it's body. The pair lowered their heads and waited for their trainers orders.
"Alright you punk, let's get this thing started! Both of you use a Hyper Beam on him before he can let out anything." Abby shouted as dots of orange energy began to race for her pokemon.
For what seemed like a split second the orange orbs gathered in the pokemon's mouths and, once reaching a boiling point, fired forth at Rainer. The massive beams of energy sliced into the ground like a hot knife through butter. They raced from the semi moist ground to the surrounding trees, causing mini fires to break out and release a thick black smoke. As the beams neared their target a wave of heat wafted against Rainer's face.
"Let's see ya get out of this." Abby said with a angry smirk.

“Crap.” Rainer murmured under his breath as his opponent resorted to such underhand tactics, but it was fine with him – he will be victorious either way. There would be no time for the Water Pokemon Trainer to release a Pokemon, so the only thing I could do was run. And running he did.
The blue-haired boy leaped to his left, watching a horizontal beam creeping right by. Rainer was not so lucky on the second of the two-pronged assault. Although the Water Pokemon Trainer did duck, it was not soon enough. The orange energy beam caught the boy right in the shoulders. The force alone knocked the boy down, while he suddenly felt as if a hammer had struck him there. The clothing on his shoulder was completely torn off, and waves after waves of pain rushed through his deltoid.
Gritting in pain, Rainer noticed that there were not much blood, while he quickly rolled two Poke-Balls forward. Blastoise and the sacred Milotic both exploded out of their respective spheres, each greeted by a flash of illumination. The Water Pokemon Trainer stayed on the muddy ground, while he gave his two Pokemon a look of reassurance. “You don’t need my orders, just take care of her.”

Once the opposition gave the command, the two uncontrolled Pokemon burst into a frenzy rage. Their trainer was down on the ground, unable to give any orders. Yet the well-trained Water Pokemon knew exactly what to do.
A sky itself opened upon the forest, whilst the gods clasped upon the small world with blades of rage. Lightning and thunder roamed the heavens, and the shapeless clouds snarled out the sun – the world was dark once again. Storms of rain extended its small arms, sweeping the forest as it was strains of hair. The giant hand combed through the wet ground, pounding the boil into unstable mud.
