The three Gadgets had been here for several years, and they are still doing good. They grew even better with the release of Xyz in TCG and they gets better with each booster released.

Don't hesitate to write it in here if you have any ideas or techs you want to share with other Gadget-lovers

How would you run your gadgets?
As a standalone thing or as an engine for say monarchs

God Lobster

I run 3 types of Gadget decks

1. Offering Gadget.
In this deck I run 3x3 Gadgets and 2 Ultimate Offering to make an OTK with Xyz. Wanna try Double Summon sometime

2. Machina Gadget
In this deck I run 2-3x3 Gadgets and use them as a way to get monsters. Also sine they are machines I can drop dem for Machina Fortress

3. Stun Gadget
In this deck I run 2x3 Gadgets + a lot of stun cards like Thunder King, Doomcalibur Knight, etc. Basicly they are used to give plusses so you can use all your "1 for 1" cards like Smashing Ground, Dimensional Prison, etc and still get advantage.

I have seen people use Monarchs in the deck, but I have only used 1 Caius in Offering Gadget

Yeah those are the most typical of the possible Gadget builds I must say. Those will all generally get better when the Geargianos (sp?) come out to TCG, especially with Gear Giganto X (sp?). I'll be keeping an eye on this thread, as it's full of potential (the deck of course too).

I think Stun Gadget has been popular in the older days, if one wanted to play Stun they'd simply put together random Beasts and say "Oh look, its a good stun deck, try it, try it!"

But the purpose of adding in Stun to Gadget is to gain advantage, I see that however I don't think it'll fair with the meta as it would 3-4 years ago.

God Lobster

I agree. Stun is not that good now and days, but that's most likely because of WU-loop and especially Inzekters. Only Gravekeeper's can be good against those because of Necrovalley, but here are the MST's the problem.

I chose Offering Gadget over Gravekeeper's at our nationals, and I prepared the deck against Inzectors and Chaos Dragons. And it worked. I had 3 MST's and 2 Breakers to get rid of Royal Decree, 3 Fiendish Chains to Inzekters (and ofc Warning, BTH, TT) + Macro Cosmos and Veiler in side, and 3 Fossil Dyna to Chaos Dragon + Macro Cosmos and Kychoos in side.

The Seal of Orichalcos in Gadget anyone?

Definitely good tech depending on what kind of effects it has. The 500 boost will allow a good bulk of the Rank 4s to straight up beat over some of the bigger monsters (Maestroke can now take down a good bulk of boss monsters and Gem-Knight Pearl can get over 3000 attackers like BLS).

God Lobster

Also the Gadgets will become beaters.

Changed my build slightly in that I removed one Forbidden Lance, one Pot of Duality, and one Mystical Space Typhoon (put the Typhoon in the Side Deck after removing Chalice) and added three Double Summon. I saw it on some OCG blogs in Gadget decks and, after using it, I can understand why they were using it. Even if Tinplate Goldfish is hit by Effect Veiler, you're still guaranteed your +1 from the Gadget search, then another +1 from Geargiganto X's search.

Hey Yomiel, another thing you could do is

-1 Double Summon
+1 Crashbug Road

Double Summon is good, but so is Crashbug Road. This is just because it sucks to get 2 Double Summons in your hand. Crashbug Road is a risk because the opp can special summon 1 monster from their hand, but their is a good chance that won't happen. Also, getting to summon a 3cost Rank 4 XYZ is worth it.

@ Yomiel

For a Gadget deck I think 21 Monsters are way too many. I can't get actually convinced about Tinplate Goldfish yet but you may consider dropping one of each Gadget and cut Machina Fortress to 2.

Dark Zane

This is my gadget deck. I like running Tinplate Goldfish because it brings out a lot more opprotunities to summon xyz monster. And if you don't have a monster in hand, I don't know how, it has a really high defense so it can't be destroyed by attacking it. I think Photon Trasher or Crashbug Road is a good replacement for Tinplate Goldfish until we get it. I prefer running two fortress and one cannon is because it's a lot easier to bring out fortress and since I run 42 cards, I don't get much clogging.

Stun Gadget - Yes
Machina Gadget - No
Your machines can be discarted with Fortress, so it's necessary to run that many of those.

I agree about Fortress, cut it to 2.
Goldfish is a great card. One thing about it is that your opponent cannot Warning that Gadget you summon, so you do not lose it. Also most players would use Veiler on Goldfish instead of the Gadget so it stays safe

@ Dark Zane

You won't need three of each Gadget. I would also toss the three copies of Double Summon for a third PoD or Forbidden Lance. Consider adding Gorz, Tragoedia or Spirit Reaper since you don't have any Solidarity.

@ God Lobster

I've been playing the Machina Gadget version since the first Starter Deck for them came out. Just feeling more comfortable with less monsters, by the time you run 6 gadgets in some way you guarantee at least one of them in every 7 cards of your deck. Anyway, have you tested your deck against Chaos Dragon or DINO Rabbit ?

Those are everywere, so of cause I have tested it against those
Be careful when usion those calculations. They are good in theory, but bad in a real duel. Every Gadget-player would/should agree.
Gadgets can be deaddraw in Machina Gadget, but then they can be used to resurrect Machina Fortress. And also you have a bigger guarantee to have a gadget in opening hand. And of cause have extras in case of Warning or Veiler

I run three of each gadget so when I play offering I don't run out of gadgets before offering or after when it's destroyed. The double summons are for when I don't have offering out and it is really helpful first turn. Three PoD isn't helpful because Gadgets are heavily xyz based right now and three pod will kill that. I never lossed a monster and those cards are best side decked rather than have it in the main.

Opinions about Abyss Dweller in Gadget? I think it is a great card because of Dark World and Atlanteans, and it's easy to summon

I think abyss dweller is a great edition to the extra deck for gadgets. I think it will replace Evigishki Merrowgeist in the extra deck.

Nice! What changes to the main deck or side deck would you make? Do you feel adding a third Macro Cosmos would have helped?

ESPplayer
12-04-2012, 12:08 PM
Nah I don't think a third macros cosmos would have helped, two is fine in the side. I don't think i wouldve made any changes to the main deck, maybe the side i would but i'm not sure what.

LOL really?? yeah man I think this is how the deck should be ran at least until tin plate goldfish comes out haha and thanks! I'm really glad on how the deck did, the deck is really good and is pretty aggressive and also gets alot of plusses too. plus not a lot of people are siding machine hate anymore now that geargias are becoming a rogue deck now so that was also a factor in how the deck did well haha. kinda wish i topped 8 though but oh well hopefully next time XD

The only thing I have'nt tried yet is Call Of The Haunted. How does it work for you?

ESPplayer
12-11-2012, 10:37 PM
call of the haunted is really good in this deck. it gets you back your fortress, you can summon a gadget and then pitch the gadget that you searched and a fortress to special fortress then flip up Call Of The Haunted to bring back the gadget you pitched and then search for another gadget and then xyz. so many combos you can do with the card and you can get a lot of pluses too.

God Lobster

I know what it does to the deck, the question was more like how does the deck interact with te card:) But I tried it myself, and it works perfect! :)

Not a big fan of running 3 of each Gadget, even with Ultimate Offering and Double Summon. There would be so many bad draws in this deck. I recommend a deck overhaul!
