Well guys, if you're into "good" music like me, you prolly have opinions on who the greatest guitarists to ever play are. I'm just kinda wondering what yal think.

This is my list:

1. Steve Morse
2. Warren Haynes
3. Derek Trucks
4. Stevie Ray Vaughan
5. There are plenty of others that are great, but these are my tops....

And to all you Laker fans out there, we are most likely trading Caron Butler and Atkins/George for Kwame Brown. So, our roster is much bigger and stronger. Good, but I still feel we need a point guard. Right now, we're really going after Antonio Daniels. If we get him? We're gonna be great next year. Yay!!!

KOBE ROCKS!!!

Wow...nice to see several posts of random comments.

The top three are Hendrix, Vaughan, and Clapton. End of discussion. Morse, Haynes, and Trucks and nearly as well known, and that's for a reason.

Where does basketball come into play here? The only team that anyone should care about is the Bulls, who need to trade Curry A.S.A.P.

Well guys, if you're into "good" music like me

Obviously that's up to debate from person to person.

Keep the basketball discussion where it belongs.

Ugh, thats what I thought. "Jimi Hendrix, duh?" Wtf, he is so overrated. Just as I suspected, you guys are all uneducated about music and just listen to what you hear otehrs saying. Hendrix and Morse do not even compare to each otehr. If you listened to em both, you'd know. Haynes and Vaughan, both great but Vaughan can play blues, THATS IT. Yes he is great, but only at blues. Haynes can play so much more. Trucks and Clapton.......Wow. Ugh, Clapton as well is so overrated. Clapton, ugh holy crap, I have him on my ipod, and every time one of his songs comes up, I usually change it because MOST (not all) of his stuff is gay. Listening to him and Trucks is hilarious because Trucks is WAY better than him. Both play mostly blues, and Trucks owns Clapton. Don't just listen to what people tell you. Listen to both musicians and decide for yourself like I have. My guitarist choices are way better than yours.

This is the kind of stuff that causes arguements...

I know, its about debating kinda. The only problem is stupid people who have no idea about music. Jimi Hendrix is "the greatest" by default. Everyone who knows nothing about the world of guiatrists out there say he is the greatest because they don't know any better.

Well, there are a lot of great guitar players that aren't on your top 10 list, so nobody knows everything. I don't even listen to Jimi Hendrix. I bet if I listed my favorite guitar players you wouldn't even know who they were

EVH

Hendrix, Clapton and Page were great as they ushered in the era of "rock", but they weren't technically that good.

I do like SRV too. Satch is a good one. Petrucci from Dream Theater is very, very versatile; he's rather good.

Nuff said.
