What is your favorite pokémon video game???
Mine is Pokémon sapphire because maybe it's the only one I've played, and ruby's the same. I prefer Kyogre over Groudon, that's why I chose Sapphire.

I love Gold. I find it to be the longest and most challanging out of all of the games. Also, Ho-oh has the attack Sacred Fire, quite possibly the strongest fire attack in the entire game.

Gold and Silver combined. Put Lugia on Silver and you have my awesomely cool team, consisting of mainly Jigglypuffs and Ninetales's.

I'll jump on the bandwagon. Gold was the best. It was the ultimate game. Unlike what happened with Ruby/Sapphire, Gold/Silver kept the original feel of the popular games that everyone loved. The designers of Gold/Silver did a spectacular job of adding new features while retaining the same basic feel. I know I played Gold for quite a long time. From 2000 or 2001 when I first got it, I played it all the way up until 2003, I believe, when I got Ruby.
It added 100 Pokemon, including the Unowns, had a new world, added breeding, had new attacks, added HMs, had Happiness (for evolution), shiny Pokemon, AND, when you beat the Elite Four, you still had another world!
You cannot convince me otherwise- Gold/Silver is the best Pokemon game ever.
I really enjoyed playing through Silver, but I have to say overall I like Emerald more than any game so far, mostly because of its expanding on Sapphire which i played for over 300 hours, and its got stuff like Animations which i loved in crystal, and the new ways of battling...

Wow... So many G/S fans. I can say the same as Baboon, only reversed. You cannot convince me that G/S were the best Pokemon games. I ended up selling Gold and I never sell games. I could say more, but I'm starting to sound like a broken record on this topic...
Emerald is without a doubt my favourite of the collection, mainly because it's R/S but better. Even when FR/LG had come out I still preferred R/S over them. Hoenn's just such a beautiful and fun region, and all the added elements are great. Some of the Pokemon are iffy but overall I like them over the Johto Pokemon. Anyone who tries to convince me that Hoenn's newbies are all crap but Johto's rock has another thing coming (as some of you have already seen in other topics).

For me... it is a toss up between Blue and Emerald.
Pokemon Blue (along with Red) revoluntionized the gameboy world as Pokemon was first introduced, and everything else just rolled along with the Pokemon franchize. The out-dated graphic just plainly brings tears to your eyes if you pick up and play the older versions, but the classfic feelings would always be there.
Pokemon Emerald, Linkachu said it, an R/S except better. It is a shame that it was not release earlier in the United States. Emerald is battlers' and collectors' dream. The numerous battle 'stations' and the gigantic amount of Pokemon offered (including the legendaries) make any Pokemon fan happy.

I like Gold and LG, LG because it felt like playing blue again for the first time (But easier on the eyes) and Gold simply because it was fun. The new things that Gold introduced really made the game better, some of them were useless and crap but for the most part the updates were really great. Also the graphics were much nicer and thrashing Ash/Red's Pikachu silly gave me a warm feeling inside. The kind of warm feeling you get when something bad happens to a person you don't like, them getting hemaroids for example.
Sorry Pika I love you really but *slaps with whale spleen* you had it coming.

I prefer Stadium 2. All the rentals had interesting movesets, they kept it fairly accurate to the originals. And Gymleader castle was a fun rumble with sweet payoffs. And the school thing is a fun diversion. Not to mention minigames that should be games in themselves. (FURRET SOCCER!)
Crystal is a close second, being the only Pokemon game with... GASP! a plot.

Well, I stoped playing pokemon when the third series of new pokés arrived.
So I don't know anything about saphire and ruby.
My fav. poké games must be gold, silver, pokémon stadium and pokémon snap.
Red.I hated GSC, it didnt have the carisma which red and Richard Nixon have. I have played ru/sa/fr/lg, they are all pretty cool, but nothing compared to red. Still waiting to import Emerald from you silly Yankees getting everything first and dirt cheap ;). about 10-15 working days left!

Ive only played ruby and sapphire, so I would have to say sapphire:D
Im planning on getting some of the older ones some time next month.
If you are going to purchase older games, buy gold and silver, if you are interested in the original games, buy fire red and/or leaf green they are the same just without glitches and with new features..

OMG....I LOVE STADIUM 2. It's like, my alternative if I didn't have Serebii. It was Stadium and much better.....and those minigames were the ultimate pwnage. I pwned everyone at that Chansey game....
Favorite GBC Pokemon RPG would have to be Pokemon Gold/Silver. It was Red and Blue + so much more....I fell in love.
GBA's would have to go to the FR/LG series. Just can't beat a kickass port of a kickass game.

GBC: Crystal. Silver was the 1st game I ever played, but crystal is my favorite because I enjoy actually playing as a girl. Side note: I was watching Master Quest and I felt nostalgic for Johto and I would be beyond happy I there was a G/S/C remake.
GBA: It's between FireRed and Emerald. I don't think I even need to explain the awsomeness of these games.
