almost strictly better than a plains, not to mention, absurdly strong.

well, as a rare it should be strictly better than a plains. If you compare it to a plains then i guess Eiganjo castle is strictly better as well.
About the ability effect: i have seen nobody yet saying leonin sun standard is broken, and, hey, it costs :1: :w: to pump all your creatures too!. Certainly, it is easier to destroy, but it still costs :w: less to pump.
It isnīt much better than glorious anthem neither. I mean, is nice having it as a land, but you must spend :1: :w: :w: to get the same effect as with an anthem in play, and if an aggresive deck has got 6 mana or more then it should have more ways to win than pumping another +1/+1. And if you have tons of mana there are much better ways to finish a game.
From my point of view the card is quite balanced. Not too crappy, can use mana late in the game if your hand is empty, but it wouldnīt unbalance games.

I like it but perhaps just to ease the tensions everyone is having with it (including myself although I can't quite put my finger on why) maybe you could make the pump ability 1WW and Tap.

eiganjo has an ability which is relevant in like 1% of the games you play.. this ability is much too strong. like if it was 1W, tap, sacrifice this: creatures you control get +1/+1 u.e.t. then it would be balanced

well, as a rare it should be strictly better than a plains. If you compare it to a plains then i guess Eiganjo castle is strictly better as well. Wrong. Since it's legendary it is allowed to be better. However globally buffing your creatures is a far more significant impact on the game than preventing 2 damage to a legendary creature. Rarity should never allow a land to be "strictly better than a plains".
About the ability effect: i have seen nobody yet saying leonin sun standard is broken, and, hey, it costs :1: :w: to pump all your creatures too!. Certainly, it is easier to destroy, but it still costs :w: less to pump.Leonin sun standard also costs 2 to play and takes up a slot in your deck, whereas this can substitute as a plains with no problem and is uncounterable to boot.

And if you have tons of mana there are much better ways to finish a game.Glorious anthem being a 3 mana enchantment that can be encountered etc. etc. I'd be significantly worried about a land that looked like
Megrim-land
Legendary land
T:Add B to your mana pool.
2B:Until end of turn, whenever an opponent discards a card, megrim land deals 2 damage to that player.
or perhaps
Rite of Passage Terrain
Legendary Land
T:Add G to your mana pool.
2G:Whenever a creature you control is dealt damage this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on it.
Perhaps
Land of Hysteria
Legendary Land
T:Add R to your mana pool.
R:All creatures gain haste until end of turn.
Maybe?
Pirate's Cave
Legendary Land
T:Add U to your mana pool.
2UU:Until end of turn, whenever a creature you control deals damage to an opponent, draw a card.
The card itself is an absolute bomb in limited and is still quite strong in constructed.

yes uracowman, Drakonis made his point clear enough without you clumsily restating it. I understand how broken it is, but I still like the idea of the land. hmm... Perhaps a Lake of the Dead approach . . . When it comes into play sacrifice a plains. Tap, Sacrifice a Plains: creatures you control get +1/+1 u.e.t. I don't know.
