LOSS IS THE NEW BLACK

I want to reinvent myself now you're gone.
Throw away these skull adorned clothes,
that I suddenly fitted my life into last winter,
when we shared hell on a frozen Earth.
Change my opinion on Lily Allen,
maybe she’s not just a pop starlet.
Want to throw a match at my home as I walk away.

I found my new coffee place,
I love the atmosphere and anonymity.
I know you’ve found the new me by now.
I hope your life’s fresh sheen lasts.
No more trying to match you drink for drink,
I’m burning fast but I’m burning clean.
I wish all this will be right in your face.

I won’t fall for the joke I played on myself,
one mind’s eye is still on you.
My inner critic is saying I associate my image,
with the reflection of it in your eyes.
I pray that this too shall pass.
I don’t want to be the boy who understands mad people,
I don’t want to be your boy anymore.
